Beastmaster of the Ages

The two streaks of starlight passed in an instant. Tianming hadn’t even seen the cosmic gods with his own eyes, yet their passage caused the glow of the mountains and trees around him to intensify. There wasn’t even a real need for Tianming to hide, given how quickly the cosmic gods were flying. They were faster than divine astralships over short distances, so the cosmic gods had flown far away in the time it took Tianming to duck.

”They’re too damn powerful!” He looked ahead enviously after the danger had passed. One streak of light was blue, while the other was inky green. ”These two don’t seem any weaker than Fentian He.”

Yin Chen had been spread out near the divine tomb, but it didn’t dare to make many moves out of worry that it would be discovered by cosmic sense like Fentian He had done last time. ”They are... sending people... into the... divine tomb....”

”I see.... Unsurprisingly, only the most talented descendants from the Starfall Pantheon are allowed to enter and cultivate....” People like Luori Guiyang and Xing Yue might be descendants of cosmic gods, but they weren’t particularly talented in Starmoon Haven. They definitely didn’t have any chance of entering a divine tomb. ”Let’s stay put until the cosmic gods leave.”

Tianming calmed down, though his eyes were still filled with expectation. ”Treading on a knife’s edge like this truly is exciting!”

The cosmic gods were incredibly dangerous, yet their presence only intensified his desire to get stronger. Such was the point of cultivation!

All of a sudden, a rumble could be felt all over. The two blinding streams of starlight descended into the mountains, causing their surroundings to light up like two galaxies. The left astral figure seemed made up of blue stars, each one looking like a blue crystal. The astrons of cosmic gods were known as middlekin astrons, named after middlekin stars that were basically compressed versions of nova-source worlds, packed densely with energy. One was packed with cosmoforce while the other was packed with nova source.

Even though these two astral bodies retained a humanoid shape, they didn’t appear like humans. The middlekin astrons in their bodies undulated freely like water in the ocean. They looked like stars that were densely packed next to each other. One of them looked like a human-shaped sea of blue crystals.

The other cosmic god’s middlekin astrons were inky green in color, making him look like an abyss of dark stars. The two of them contrasted strongly against each other in terms of radiance.

The blue cosmic god seemed to be the older one, given the slightly dimmer starlight coming from his body. The green cosmic god glowed like the sun in the sky, appearing visibly more vigorous.

”We’re finally here,” said the blue one as he landed.

”Yeah!” The green one nodded and let a youth in his hand go. The young man also had inky-green hair. Even though he was an overflower, it was clear that he was the descendant of the inky-green cosmic god. ”Mo Mo, you brought the key, right?”

”Of course,” said the Yunxing youth.

The blue cosmic god also let a young man go. He seemed to have a more intense gaze compared to Mo Mo. ”Xing Hui, make sure to partner up with Mo Mo inside and deepen your friendship.”

”Friendship?” The rainbow-haired youth called Xing Hui pouted before nodding. ”Fine! Though, our ancestral heart keys might correspond to ancestors who are entombed quite far away from each other, so we might not run into each other.”

”I can’t be bothered to be in a group with someone who’d already lost to me,” Mo Mo said impolitely. The two of them didn’t seem to get along well. Even so, the two cosmic gods ignored that. They looked at the messy-haired old man in the distance who was scrambling over.

He stood more than a hundred meters in height, his hair entirely white. Though he was still an overflower, he was close to becoming a cosmic god. Even then, this was someone Tianming wouldn’t even dare to touch. Given his age, it didn’t seem like he would be able to take the step to become a cosmic god. If one didn’t transform during one’s prime, there would be no hope.

”Jiu Jue, we’ll leave these two to you!” said the blue cosmic god.

”Yes, Lord Xing Zhan!” The old tombkeeper kept his head low out of respect. ”I will take them into the tomb right away.”

”Jiu Jue, things have been rather chaotic lately, and we have to go after Long Xing right away. Even though this location is a well-kept secret, you still can’t afford to be careless. It’s far too important,” said the green cosmic god.

”Yes, Mo Shen! This humble one has been extra careful lately and has never taken a sip of alcohol while on duty!” Jiu Jue said. [1]

”I will send a few more trustworthy people over eventually to lighten your burden,” Mo Shen said. If not for the secrecy around the divine tomb, they might’ve assigned more people to guard it.”

”Rest assured, my lords, I would rather die than let those lowly slaves set foot on these sacred grounds. Not to mention, we even have the ninefold formation!” said the old man.

”Very well.” The green cosmic god looked into the eyes of the old man. ”Take this reminder seriously. No matter what tantrums these kids throw, absolutely do not let them out of here until the stipulated time is over. They are the safest behind the protection of these formations.”

”Understood!” As the tombkeeper, he couldn’t let the kids mess around and leave out of worry for their future.

”Very well. Take them in,” Mo Shen said.

Jiu Jue nodded and bowed deeply before motioning for the two young geniuses to walk ahead. Then, all three of them suddenly vanished from view.

”Uncle Xing Zhan,” Mo Shen said, ”I heard that a few of your children and grandchildren were involved in the incident at the Middlekin Star Ruin...”

”That’s right.” Xing Zhan’s eyes pulsed with blinding light. ”Those three are too uncanny. Fentian He is investigating them and attempting to bait them out. We should wait patiently for the results.”

”These slaves are getting more and more daring. If Starmoon Haven doesn’t rid itself of these pests, we’d end up being the laughingstock of the entire galaxy....” Mo Shen’s eyes filled with killing intent. ”We have to exterminate all the slaves in the Midsky Tristars to relieve this hate! Killing a hundred million of them won’t be nearly enough to make up for the Xing Clan’s losses.”

”Forget about wiping them out. They still have their uses. Long Xing, on the other hand, is just one person. After we kill him, things will resume their course. As for Xing Can and Xing Han....” Xing Zhan didn’t need to say anything else for Mo Shen to understand his intentions. Those two never had a chance of becoming cosmic gods, so not too many people cared much about what happened to them.

”Send the young ones to safety. The rest will depend on our wonderian friends!” Xing Zhan suddenly said with a laugh.

”Yes. Once we capture them, it’ll be their time to shine,” Mo Shen said.
