Beastmaster of the Ages

”It’s perfectly normal,” Fentian He chuckled. ”Whether it’s Long Xing or Li Tianming, they’re merely spokespersons for the slave race, trying to defy fate and change their destiny. Honestly, it’s laughable. You and I both understand the status of the slave race in the Upper Star Ruin. They’re the lowest of the low, and no matter how many die, no one will care. No matter how powerful someone is, if they belong to that race, they’re inherently weaker from birth. That’s the reality.

”The method our Midsky Tristars’ cosmic gods are using right now may be blunt, but it’s effective. Long Xing has long realized that, which is why he incited a full-scale rebellion among his people, seizing the initiative. But unfortunately for him, the Midsky Tristars only has one cosmic god of the slave race. He can’t control the Wargod or Wondersky Havens.

”Now that the Midsky Tristars have joined forces, his fate is sealed! The more he fights under the banner of his people, the more he tries to protect those lowly slaves, the more he’s held back! The more flaws he exposes!”

After finishing, Fentian He looked in the direction where Tianming had fled and added, ”The same goes for Li Tianming. In fact, he’s even more merciful than Long Xing.”

”He killed eight million people, that’s considered merciful?” Yanri Shuang said in shock.

”That’s nothing. Slaves die every day and nobody even bothers keeping count. If he wants to compare ruthlessness with us, that brat is still too immature. He may have escaped today, but it won’t be long before he regrets everything he’s done for the rest of his life!”

Fentian He turned to look at the divine channel and coldly sneered, ”Although the eight million who died today were all lowly swine, and most of them weren’t even of our Luori Pantheon, they were still our dogs. Exterminating eight hundred million of his people in return isn’t excessive, is it?”

”Not at all....” Yanri Shuang stuck out her tongue. ”Big Brother Fen, you originally didn’t plan to personally escort them, did you? But after encountering him today, you changed your mind? You even decided to deploy a maniverse-class astralship?”

”Yes!” Fentian He’s gaze burned with intensity. ”If necessary, I’ll invite a few cosmic gods from the Wargod Haven to accompany me. The Zhantian siblings were killed by that little bug, so they’re quite interested in him. And we don’t have to worry about him tracking our astralship. It’s an open plot. If he dares to intercept us again, even if he can detonate a hundred middlekin stars, he’ll still be walking straight to his death.”

”Aren’t you overestimating him a little?” Yanri Shuang said in disbelief.

”Squishing an ant with overwhelming power is the most satisfying way.” Fentian He glanced at Yanri Shuang and laughed, ”I killed those insects too early. Otherwise I could’ve let him find out about the matter of the eight hundred million slaves in advance.”

”Mmhmm!” Yanri Shuang nodded, but her heart was in turmoil.

”You have a way to tell him, don’t you?” Fentian He suddenly asked in a low voice.

”Me?” Yanri Shuang shivered all over and quickly denied it. ”How could I...?”

She kept a neutral expression, but her heart was pounding. She hurriedly changed the subject. ”By the way, Big Brother Fen, after the eight hundred million slaves are transported to Starmoon Haven, what exactly will be done with them?”

”That’s an open plot as well. We will use your family’s Yanri Cauldron to cremate them batch by batch until Long Xing appears. More than ten cosmic gods will be laying in wait. If he doesn’t appear, we’ll keep burning them until there are no more slaves left in the Midsky Tristars.” Fentian He spoke lightly, as if he were discussing something insignificant.

”Then we’ll have to keep transporting slaves?” Yanri Shuang felt a chill inside. Although she was part of the Luori Pantheon, she couldn’t imagine the sight of billions of people being burned to ashes.

”Of course. I plan to have several cosmic gods personally escort every batch,” Fentian He chuckled. ”Oh, right. After what happened in this Middlekin Star Ruin, the original plan to send another ten million slaves here changed. Since the place is compromised, they’ll also be sent to Starmoon Haven for incineration.”

”Oh... so it’s like recycling trash...” Yanri Shuang awkwardly laughed.

”Exactly. It’s no different from burning trash. You’re a kind-hearted woman, so it might make you uncomfortable. But, Little Shuang, there is something I must teach you.” Fentian He spoke in a serious tone.

”Please enlighten me,” Yanri Shuang said.

”The path to becoming a cosmic god is the path of transforming oneself into a cosmos. The most important mindset change in the process is that you must stop viewing life as life. Low-tier lives are meaningless. Only by transcending life itself can one achieve true cosmic godhood,” Fentian He’s voice was cold and deep, like an abyss.

”Especially the lives of slaves, right?” Yanri Shuang asked.

”Exactly. Sure, they have emotions, they scream, they dream... but none of it matters to a cosmic god. Long Xing failed to grasp that concept and let racial hatred blind him, which is why he’ll always be nothing more than a worthless cosmic god. He may be a threat to commoners, but he’ll never surpass any other cosmic god.”

Fentian He took a deep breath, patted Yanri Shuang on the shoulder, and meaningfully said, ”To ascend the path of the cosmic god, one must first kill ten billion. That’s the truth.”

”To ascend the path of the cosmic god, one must first kill ten billion? Only by transcending the shackles of life can one merge with the cosmos?” Yanri Shuang understood that the ten billion Fentian He was speaking of didn’t just refer to ten billion mortals. He meant ten billion astral gods!

But in the eyes of a cosmic god, they were all insignificant.

”Of course, even the Upper Star Ruin has racial conflicts, but that competition is for the cosmic gods of the Eightpart Pantheon, like me and the future you. It has nothing to do with astral gods. You must never see yourself as dust, because you’re destined to become a cosmic god. You’re different from them. So in terms of mindset, you must recognize how exalted you are!” Fentian He said with deep conviction.

”Yes! Big Brother, I understand.” Yanri Shuang lowered her head.

”Now, returning to our previous topic.” Fentian He smiled at her. ”Do you still think cremating eight hundred million lowly slaves has any meaning?”

”Not anymore,” Yanri Shuang replied.

”What about exterminating all of Midsky Tristars’ slaves?”

”That has no meaning either! If we need more servants, we can just buy them from other worlds,” Yanri Shuang said.

”Exactly! However....” Fentian He’s gaze suddenly turned chillingly cold and he sneered, ”A mere cosmic god slave dares to incite rebellion in Starmoon Haven? He’s trampled on the dignity of Midsky Tristars’ cosmic gods, dragging us down to his wretched level! He enjoys playing the hero? Sure, then we’ll use his people to play a game of life!”

”A meaningless game of life and death...” Yanri Shuang murmured.

”Put simply, it’s like a man standing among a swarm of ants, shouting that he’ll avenge them. Doesn’t that sound absurd?”

”Absurd!”

”So we’ll burn the ants batch by batch and see how he reacts.” Fentian He shrugged.

”Then... is Li Tianming a man or an ant?” Yanri Shuang suddenly asked.

”I’ll give him some credit and call him a human-shaped ant,” Fentian He replied.

”But what if he’s a monster?” Yanri Shuang lifted her head, looking at the cosmic god who gazed at her with warmth but harbored an abyss of molten cruelty within.

Was the path of life’s evolution truly one where one must become the universe itself, seeing all other lives as mere dust and filth to be wiped away?
