Beastmaster of the Ages

”Whoa!” Wudi looked at the figure of flame in shock. ”I’m already someone who’s become a father, yet you’re giving me a blessing like that. Is it appropriate for some random middle-aged man like me to be the protagonist? Am I getting a little too full of myself?”

Tianming almost fell over when he heard that. So you’re self-aware enough to notice it! Wudi had just been dubbed the Flameyellow Imperator, a title that Imperator Carnage, Imperator Defiance, Imperator Dominium, Imperator Venerabilis, and Imperator Inferno had once claimed. There had been nine in total across history, yet the cosmic god blood was going to name Wudi the tenth and task him with leading the flameyellow divinities back to prominence!

”Haha, I’ve laid low for so long, but now it’s my time to shine brighter than my son, Tianming! Finally, my era has dawned upon us! I’ll overthrow the Tianming Dynasty and form my own, invincible, Wudi Dynasty! My invincible demon-slaying, world-crossing, friendship-forming, starscape-touring legend has finally begun!”

The burning incarnation of blood merely looked around in silence, seemingly wanting to find a different candidate. However, its gaze settled back on Wudi with a look of helplessness; it seemed to have given up.

”Li Wudi, why’re you messing around? Aren’t you embarrassed?!” Qingyu hid her face in embarrassment and even called him out by his full name. Everyone was watching the farce!

”Apologies, I wasn’t ready. Let me have a do-over,” Wudi said, clearing his throat.

”You’d better shut up, lest you scare those blessings away!” Qingyu anxiously said.

Wudi looked around and noticed that it was actually a likely scenario! He hurried and cleared his throat before adopting a good posture. ”Alright! I’m ready!”

When he said that, the incarnation of the cosmic god blood split into two, a human and beast form. The beast had characteristics of dragons and phoenixes, seemingly an amalgamation of the strongest of beasts. It constantly shifted its form, but its undying will seemed eternal.

”Come to me, old friend!” Wudi waved his hand.

”Just shut up you fool! Who’s your old friend? Even if you don’t care about your reputation, I do!” the blood-colored kunpeng said as it landed beside him.

As everyone watched, the cosmic god blood incarnations grew more and more corporeal. Then they entered Wudi and the kunpeng’s body through their glabellas, completely flowing into them! The two of them seemed a bit taken aback and didn’t show any reaction at first. All of a sudden, a blinding crimson-and-gold light came bursting out of their eyes, shooting through the flaming clouds above and plunged into Ebonia on the other end like a sword, lighting up part of the dark star!

”Holy shit!” Tianming watched as bloodline veins began spreading across Wudi and his kunpeng’s faces, forming crimson and gold dragons in the thousands! They filled every inch of their skin and spread all across their limbs, even connecting with Wudi’s eight bane-rings. The glowing eyes and countless dragon-shaped bloodline veins formed a network that seemed to change the astrons within their bodies.

”The cosmic god blood must be some kind of bloodline legacy! It seems much more ancient and potent than the cosmic god blood I got from the monochrome giant and the one Qingyu got from the sun emperor back then. It’s in a whole other league!” The cosmic god blood from the Original Sin Pool seemed like the source of a super cosmic god’s bloodline. The Source Progenitor of Myriadpath Valley and monochrome giant of the Yin-Yang World seemed like basic astral giants with bodies about a hundred meters in height.

”I wonder what level of cosmic god Huang Qi was....” Perhaps beings like Huang Qi, Di Yi, and Tian Jiu were top beings in the Upper Star Ruin. ”I wonder if they’re stronger or weaker than the Flameyellow Imperatores of the past....”

Tianming was only a seventh-level foundationeer with nine streams of order, so his advancement was becoming harder and harder. ”Forget peak-tier cosmic gods. Even normal cosmic gods are way ahead of me.” The only thing he should be concerning himself with now was reaching the Overflow stage. As such, his feeling of awe and worship paled in comparison to his godfather’s. He knew that he, unlike Feiling and Zi Zhen, wasn’t the same type of cultivator. He couldn’t grow explosively like they did.

The most terrifying beings in the universe are those that can reincarnate. I wonder if Ling’er and Zi Zhen are the only two beings like that. I hope there aren’t any male ones. Otherwise, it’d be really hard for me to compete against someone who can level up as quickly as they do.... Neither he nor Wudi were the fast-growing type. Even the Primordial Chaos Beasts had to start from zero.

Tianming clearly felt the rapid changes occurring within Wudi’s bloodline. He was the one who had absorbed the most Flameyellow Bloodsoul out of everyone, and it was beginning to show. His astrons all turned crimson-and-gold and began transforming. His body was giving off a lot of light, though he seemed to be unable to bear the full brunt of the transformation and hurriedly pulled the Flameyellow Coffin over, then jumped into it like an animal.

”Godfather, I have something for you! Use it if you’re able to!” Tianming tossed a few order fragments to him. If his order can grow throughout this process, the fragments will be able to guarantee his breakthrough.

It was a huge boon indeed. The thing Wudi had lacked the most was a powerful bloodline. Tianming, on the other hand, already had the bloodline of the sky plunderers, and had even infused some from the Primordial Chaos Beasts. He had also inherited the grand lexicon wonder. Still, legacies from cosmic god blood would no doubt create peak talents. Qingyu was rather average before, but a single drop of ancient blood changed her.

The Flameyellow Coffin shut its lid, but everyone around it could still feel the effects of the transformation. The coffin shuddered and the patterns depicting the flameyellow fiends lit up once more. Then it shot into the sky through the flaming clouds before whipping up a tornado of flames.

”The imperator descends! Flameyellow is reborn!” Billions of flameyellow fiends appeared amidst the flaming clouds. The three-headed, six-armed beasts that resembled the Soulfiend all solemnly bowed toward the Flameyellow Coffin. At the same time, countless flaming mirages of great beasts, like dragons, phoenixes, qilins, sacred tortoises, and mystical avians, appeared in the sea of flames and surrounded the coffin.

”What in the....” Tianming would never have dreamed that the Original Sin Pool would actually be able to forge the number-two genius in Infinitum of a godfather into an even more powerful being. Dammit, the first thing he’s going to do next is to mock me! Who could have expected that the middle-aged man would suddenly rise up once again?

Now that I think about it, godfather’s quite a tough man! He suffered being at the bottom and trampled upon for fourteen whole years, but nobody managed to take him down. Not even the sun emperor could do anything about him. The day Wudi had finally overcome his personal bane was when he’d shone the brightest. Someone like him, when given a chance, would definitely achieve great things.
