Beastmaster of the Ages

Ebonia had a vast wilderness. In such a large nova source world, everyone was a god, but the population was rather small. To Tianming, Violetglory was already considered sparsely populated. Meanwhile, Ebonia’s population density was a thousand times lower than a heliacal-class world. Therefore, most of it was made up of mountains, the wilderness, the abyss, and ancient forests. In fact, those areas were nova wildbeast territory. Weak wildbeasts from the world below were driven to the surface by the more powerful ones. Even so, they posed a great threat to ordinary ascendants and constelliers.

The closer one got to Ebonia’s fusion formation, the richer the nova source was and the stronger the wildbeasts grew. Most of them didn’t possess the ability to think and reason. Therefore, they would pounce on astralships as they flew across the sky, intent on intercepting them. They would come to a miserable end, breathing their last after being pulverized by the astralships.

At that moment, an ether-class astralship that resembled a huge black sword flew over, tearing through the darkness at an astonishing speed toward the towering mountain in the north. One could easily see the horizon from the black sword. Mount Taia suddenly lit up, illuminating half the planet. In that instant, the collision between astralship and guard formation resulted in a thunderous explosion that shook the mountains and rivers, causing a large earthquake. A huge wave of energy swept across the sky; even the huge sword trembled in the air.

”Eighty thousand ebons perished?”

Inside the black sword, Lin Xiao and Dongshen Yue were communicating with Tianming through Yin Chen. The two elders were thrilled by the news. As their eyes met, Lin Xiao tightly held Dongshen Yue’s hand. They had been extremely anxious because they’d failed to make it to the battle in time.

”Damn Chi Hun, that swine! He deserves it. That treacherous bastard brought it on himself. He killed those ebons! Returning Mount Taia’s Quintessence to my clan? He must dislike a long life. Haha, it’s fucking hilarious!” Disregarding how she looked, Dongshen Yue raised her head to the sky and roared with laughter, swinging her skull staff in a half circle in the air, wishing she could hit Chi Hun on the head with it. Only her husband knew how nervous and angry she had been before.

”Eighty thousand ebons killed in battle.... If three thousand ebons is equivalent to plucking the hair of a tiger, that’s like biting off a piece of flesh. Given the strength of the ebons, Chi Hun won’t let it go after suffering such a shameful loss.” Lin Xiao voiced his concerns while Dongshen Yue celebrated.

Tianming used a gold transmission stone to speak to Lin Xiao after obtaining a lot of new information from Yin Chen. It was more convenient. After all, Yin Chen sounded too mechanical. Lin Xiao and the others couldn’t understand it at times, especially if the situation was urgent.

”Grandpa, you’re right. Although Yin Chen can’t look inside the Nethersoul and see Chi Hun’s reaction, his command has already spread. He’s requisitioned eight more ether-class astralships, and they’ll be transporting five hundred thousand astral gods. They’ve already set off and are rapidly approaching Mount Taia. According to the ebons, they won’t give up until they wipe out the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan,” Tianming solemnly said.

Given the size of the Dongshen Clan, they would definitely be wiped out if they dared to go against a strong enemy like the ebons. Unfortunately, everyone was afraid to speak up for the weak.

”A total of ten astralships? Five hundred thousand astral gods? We don’t even have half that!” Dongshen Yue was dumbfounded.

”They aren’t playing around this time. How ruthless! They never thought of giving the Dongshen Clan a way out from the very beginning.”

In the past, they might have suppressed the Dongshen Clan, but now they were shedding all pretense of cordiality. The news made Dongshen Yue stagger to the ground, her eyes dimming. Tears started streaming down her cheeks.

”Bastards! I’ll fight them to the very end! The Dongshen Clan might be small, but we’ll make them pay a heavy price!” She stood up again, furious.

Looking at the gold transmission stone in his hand, Lin Xiao asked, ”Feng’er, what else do you have?”

”Among the three thousand that died before, several hundred came from other Infinitum Regal Clans. At the moment, three clans have responded to the ebons’ call, and each sent out an ether-class astralship and fifty thousand astral gods as well. They’ve formed the Rex Mundi Alliance and claim to represent the entire Infinitum Bodhimanda in bringing the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan to justice for violating the rules and committing serious crimes.”

It was clear that they had come up with their slogan a while ago. They had seized the moral high ground, convicting the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan in the name of righteousness.

”We have the Mundus Enforcers! What gives them the right to convict us? What right do they have to enforce the law? They’re the ones that violated the laws of the Infinitum Bodhimanda!” Dongshen Yue lambasted.

”Everyone knows that, but it won’t change anything,” Lin Xiao sighed.

The reason was obvious. The ebons were the largest force in the Infinitum Bodhimanda. They had been “wronged” and “humiliated.” There would be hell to pay if they weren’t allowed to recover their dignity.

The situation in Ebonia was perfectly clear.

”It might seem like the ebons are merely targeting the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan, but in fact, they’re also trying to sound out Yi Daiyan. There’s also the Dongshen Clan’s ties to me and the Lin Clan. The ebons have to trample Mount Taia to show off their might.”

That was the hardest part.

”They just suffered a loss. Once all thirteen ether-class astralships arrive and a total of six hundred and fifty thousand astral gods gather, they can withdraw their troops on the ground and fight with their astralships to prevent casualties and losses. Mount Taia’s Quintessence won’t last forever.”

The eighty thousand ebons that had perished would be the last of their casualties. They wanted to exchange those lives for three hundred million of the Dongshen Clan.

”It’s disgraceful that all three hundred million people will be made sinners of the Infinitum Bodhimanda so no one will avenge their deaths.” That was Tianming’s heartfelt belief.

”Deal with Brother Lingxiao to draw Uncle Changkong away. Kill three thousand ebons, lure Grandpa away, find an opportunity to righteously ‘kill chickens to warn the monkeys’ with justice, then come to seize my Order Relic…. That’s more than two birds with one stone! How will Yi Daiyan deal with their aggression?”

Tianming was well aware that the events on Mount Taia had definitely spread all across Ebonia. At the moment, all forces were too afraid to make a move. They stretched their necks out, waiting for Yi Daiyan’s response; it was impossible for her to be in the dark. The Swordgod Lin Clan and Grandnorth Dongshen Clan had both reported the truth of the matter to the Mundus Enforcers.

”Lin Lao’er!” Dongshen Yue frowned. ”It’s been a while since Lin Chongyao reported the ebons. Why hasn’t Yi Daiyan responded yet?”

”She has yet to come forward, while the ebons have dispatched more astralships and astral gods. It’s obvious that they want to start a war.... Using astralships for aerial warfare within the Infinitum Bodhimanda is the most serious crime! Logically speaking, she should curb their actions with the hardest, most uncompromising means to demonstrate her authority and prestige as the First Rex Mundi. If she backs down, the ebons will climb all over her and do whatever they want in the future!” Lin Xiao said, staring at Mount Taia.

Chi Hun had stopped attacking, and the Lins would also arrive at Mount Taia before the ebons’ reinforcements, so there wasn’t as much urgency as before.

However, the Rex Mundi Alliance would be the real storm.
