Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”Meklord Emperor Wisel!”

The moment Kira’s words fell, even before the monster could fully appear, the scene was broadcast live on television and immediately caused an uproar among various factions.

For example, at the location of the Three Pure Nobles of Iliaster, Primo was the first to shoot up from his seat, staring at the live feed with eyes full of disbelief.

Lester was also shocked: ”That guy actually... Primo, he has your card!”

”I know,” Primo’s face was as dark as water.

This already treacherous and infuriating guy had somehow become his superior, and now he had even taken his signature monster...

Jakob also muttered: ”Even such power... the god actually gave it to him.”

But on second thought, it wasn’t that strange. If their god had even handed over the crucial position of the Three Pure Nobles to this person, why not a mere Meklord Emperor?

The 5DS team members were equally shocked. Although Kira had refused to join them, they had still watched every one of his matches.

”Meklord Emperor Wisel!?”

The moment he saw Kira summon Wisel, Yusei’s heart was filled with shock.

He had already fought against Wisel before. When Yusei had confronted the mysterious duelist Ghost who was attacking Duel Runner riders everywhere, Ghost had introduced him to these Synchro-killing Meklord Emperors, and Yusei had struggled bitterly.

He had always assumed the Meklord Emperors belonged to some unknown enemy faction. But why did Kira also have one?

Crow asked: ”Could it be that Kira and the guy who used the Meklord Emperor before are actually comrades?”

Yusei didn’t answer, but his blue eyes remained fixed on Kira on the screen.

Kira... just how many secrets are you still hiding?

At this moment, blinding white light tore through space. Accompanied by the roaring sound of mechanical gears meshing, a massive pure-white silhouette slowly descended.

Its snow-white armor reflected a cold metallic luster. Crimson patterns on the black faceplate wriggled like blood vessels, emitting an ominous red glow. Its left arm deployed a semi-transparent energy shield covered in flowing blue data-like lines. Its right arm extended a sharp white blade that hummed as if it could slice through space itself.

Of course, Kira was using the single-card real-world version of the Meklord Emperor, not the five-part combined version from the anime.

The Three Pure Nobles of Iliaster actually preferred the five-in-one version. They believed having five parts allowed them to swap components for different situations, granting more monster effects and making it easier to stack higher ATK through part exchanges.

But Kira found a pile of Meklord Emperor parts too bulky and cumbersome. If he didn’t draw the core or lacked a card to make the core self-destruct, he couldn’t even summon it. It took up extra deck space and was inconvenient—he personally disliked it.

Whenever he needed the Meklord Emperor, he only cared about its Synchro-killing ability to ”absorb Synchro monsters.” For that purpose alone, the real card and anime versions were essentially the same.

The thunderous power surrounding Thor, Lord of the Aesir collided with the mechanical energy of Meklord Emperor Wisel. The lightning around Thor suddenly became chaotic, as if suppressed by a higher-dimensional force.

”Meklord Emperor?”

The members of Team Ragnarok clearly had not encountered a Meklord Emperor before. Dragan looked at it with confusion.

”I see. The opossum’s self-destruction wasn’t just for the Green Baboon—it was also prepared for this monster. Both are ’Special Summoned when a monster on the field is destroyed.’ So this is a deck built around high-level monsters of that type.

But even so, this thing isn’t a match for a god, right?”

Kira remained unhurried.

”Next, activate the Spell Card ’Dual Gate.’ Banish one copy of this card from the Graveyard to draw two cards.”

Another Dual Gate popped out from his Graveyard.

”Last turn, when I activated ’Rainbow Life,’ I discarded one card from my hand—that was the first Dual Gate. So I draw two more cards.”

After the continuous draws, his preparation was complete.

Now came the finishing stage.

Kira casually raised his hand.

”Meklord Emperor Wisel’s effect activates. Once per turn, I can target one Synchro monster on the opponent’s field and equip it to this card as an Equip Spell!”

Dragan was stunned for two full seconds.

Then his expression changed drastically.

What did you say!?

”Although it’s a god and a Divine-Beast type, Thor, Lord of the Aesir is still a Synchro monster, right?”

Kira grinned, his smile bright and sunny.

”As long as it’s a Synchro monster, it falls under the Meklord Emperor’s jurisdiction. Professional matchup... my apologies.

Wisel, absorb ’Thor, Lord of the Aesir.’”

The infinite-ring-shaped energy core in Meklord Emperor Wisel’s chest began spinning rapidly, emitting blinding blue-white light. Dozens of data-stream-like energy chains shot out from the core, wrapping around Thor’s divine body like living creatures.

Thor roared in fury, trying to smash the bindings with Mjölnir. But the hammer strikes only produced sparks of data on the energy chains. The chains tightened even further. Even more terrifyingly, Thor’s body gradually transformed from physical form into pure energy. His muscles and armor turned into flowing golden light particles.

With one final unwilling roar, Thor was completely converted into an energy torrent and forcibly dragged into the core in Wisel’s chest. The core spun at maximum speed, its protective shields closing layer by layer, eternally imprisoning the power of the Nordic Thunder God within the mechanical cage.

”Impossible!”

Even Broder outside the field slammed the table with a dramatic expression.

”The god... the god was actually absorbed!?”

Halldor also looked utterly incredulous.

Meklord Emperor? What the hell is this thing?

Is there something in this world that can counter a god like this?

In fact, during the original airing of 5DS, many viewers thought that Team Ragnarok’s defeat by the 5DS team in the WRGP semifinals was actually their good fortune. If they had won, they would have faced the New World Team (the Three Pure Nobles of Iliaster) in the finals instead.

And based on the anime’s portrayal, Team Ragnarok and their Three Lord of the Aesir would have been completely crushed by the Meklord Emperors—utterly hard-countered.

Just like now.

”Meklord Emperor Wisel gains the ATK of the absorbed monster,” Kira said. ”Thor, Lord of the Aesir has 3500 ATK, so Wisel’s ATK increases by 3500!”
