At that moment, President Kaiba disembarked. Seeing the scene, he couldn’t help but frown.

But he didn’t lose his temper—just let out a deep ”hmph.”

”Another request from your leader?” Kaiba said coolly. ”As tasteless as ever, that guy.”

Clearly, Kaiba knew the leader well. After all, not many would dare joke with him like this.

Kira grew even more curious about what kind of person could boss these guys around.

”Where is he?” Kaiba asked.

The lead muscle maid stepped forward respectfully. ”The boss had urgent business, but the cars are ready.

We’ll take you to your lodging first—the boss will catch up soon.”

Kaiba said nothing, only gestured for them to lead the way.

But the leader didn’t move, instead smiling apologetically.

”One more thing.”

”What?”

The leader took a duel disk from a subordinate and strapped it on.

Kaiba glanced at him, smirking. ”What, you want a duel?”

”My apologies, but it’s the boss’s request,” the leader said. ”He wants to see how strong President Kaiba is these days—since you haven’t dueled publicly for years.”

”Oh? Then why didn’t he come himself?” Kaiba said. ”Afraid to face me?”

He chuckled.

”Whatever. It’ll make a good appetizer before dinner.” Kaiba raised his custom duel disk. ”For the boss’s sake, I’ll make an exception.”

”Thank you, President,” the leader said quickly, stepping back.

Kira and the others backed off, watching. Either Kaiba was itching to duel, or this boss must be a big deal.

”Duel!” x2

[Kaiba, LP 4000]

[Leader, LP 4000]

Kaiba glanced at the duel disk’s indicator and narrowed his eyes.

”Looks like I’m going first. Draw.”

He drew one card.

”I Set a monster and end my turn.”

The leader frowned.

Just one Set monster...

But this was Seto Kaiba. Even if he passed with nothing, you couldn’t let your guard down.

”My turn, draw,” the leader said. ”I summon my strongest Insect—

—Chainsaw Insect!”

[Chainsaw Insect, ATK 2400]

”Whoa, it’s Chainsaw Insect!” Mokuba exclaimed.

”Yeah, Chainsaw Insect,” Kira echoed.

Mokuba meant: a Level 4 with 2400 ATK—a rare and powerful card.

Kira meant: someone actually uses this traitor monster...

”Chainsaw Insect is the strongest Insect—a Level 4 with the same ATK as the legendary Red-Eyes Black Dragon,” the leader said proudly. ”The only risk is letting your opponent draw a card when it battles.”

Kira was silent.

”Only” letting your opponent draw a card?

Well, if you see it that way, it’s a super strong monster.

”Then, I play the Equip Spell ’Axe of Despair’, boosting Chainsaw Insect’s ATK by 1000!”

[Chainsaw Insect, ATK 2400 → ATK 3400]

Its power shot up from ”Red-Eyes Black Dragon” to ”even higher than Blue-Eyes White Dragon!”

Leader: ”Chainsaw Insect attacks the Set monster!”

The Set monster flipped and was quickly shredded by Chainsaw Insect’s powerful blades.

[Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive, DEF 1000]

”When Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive is flipped, I draw a card from my deck,” Kaiba said calmly. ”And because of Chainsaw Insect’s effect, I draw another card.”

Kaiba drew two cards.

”I Set three cards and end my turn,” the leader said.

Summoning such a monster and setting a full back row—truly a ”perfect hand.” He felt he’d done his boss proud.

Even facing Kaiba, this lineup should put him under pressure...

”My turn, draw.

I activate ’Pot of Greed’ to draw two cards.”

Kaiba drew slowly, then looked at the leader meaningfully.

”Since you were sent to duel me, he must think highly of you, huh?”

The leader paused, then said, ”The boss trusts me. I’d do anything for him.”

”Hmph.”

Kaiba closed his eyes and smiled.

”Then let me give you a little lesson, as a favor to him.”

When he opened his eyes again, his gaze was sharp as steel.

”This is the power of a duel!”

He played a monster card.

”I summon ’The King of D.’!”

[The King of D., ATK 1200]

”When this monster is Normal Summoned, I discard a Spell Card to add ’The Melody of Awakening Dragon’ from my deck to my hand.”

Kaiba discarded a card and then retrieved one from his deck.

”Then I activate ’Melody of Awakening Dragon’! I discard another card to add up to two Dragon-Type monsters with 3000+ ATK and 2500 or less DEF to my hand.

I add ’Blue-Eyes White Dragon’ and ’Alternative White Dragon’ to my hand!”

Kaiba revealed the two cards.

”Alternative White Dragon can be Special Summoned by revealing ’Blue-Eyes White Dragon’ in hand.

I Special Summon ’Alternative White Dragon’!”

[Alternative White Dragon, ATK 3000]

”Alternative White Dragon’s effect: once per turn, it can forgo its attack to destroy a monster on the field.

’Chainsaw Insect’—destroyed!”

Alternative White Dragon opened its jaws, firing a blast of white light. Chainsaw Insect was vaporized.

”Tch, my strongest Insect, gone just like that...” the leader gritted his teeth.

But he still had a solid back row.

”My ’Dictator of D.’ in hand can Special Summon itself by sending a ’Blue-Eyes White Dragon’ from my deck to the graveyard!”

”Plus, by discarding the ’Blue-Eyes White Dragon’ I just searched, I can Special Summon a ’Blue-Eyes’ monster from the graveyard.”

Kaiba waved his hand.

”I revive the card I discarded for ’Melody of Awakening Dragon’—appear!

—Dragon Spirit of White!”

[Dragon Spirit of White, ATK 2500]

”When Dragon Spirit of White is Special Summoned, I banish one of your Spell/Trap cards.”

Kaiba pointed at a Set card.

”That card—banished!”

A white storm swept up the Set card, pulling it into a dimensional vortex.

The counter-trap: ”Negate Attack.”

The leader’s face darkened.

Even Negate Attack was...

”I activate ’Polymerization’!” Kaiba continued. ”While ’King of D..’ is on the field, its name can be treated as ’Lord of D..’

So, I fuse ’The King of D.’ and ’Divine Dragon Ragnarok’ in my hand to Fusion Summon—

—King Dragun, Dragon Master Knight!”

[King Dragun, ATK 2400]

”King Dragun’s effect: once per turn, I can Special Summon a Dragon from my hand.”

Kaiba drew another card.

”I Special Summon ’Prime Material Dragon’.”

[Prime Material Dragon, ATK 2400]

The leader’s face turned even paler.

”All this on turn one...?”

He glanced at his back row again, getting nervous.

Would his back row be enough to withstand Kaiba’s all-out dragon assault?

Noticing his gaze, Kaiba also glanced at the back row and chuckled softly.

”Battle,” Kaiba said. ”Dragon Spirit of White, direct attack!”

Dragon Spirit of White charged, gathering energy in its maw.

”I activate my Set card! Trap Card—’Dimensional Prison’! When an opponent’s monster attacks, banish it!”

”MUDA,” Kaiba said coolly. ”While ’King Dragun’ is on the field, your cards can’t target Dragon-Type monsters with effects.”

The leader: ”!!!”

Such resistance...?

”Tch.” The leader gritted his teeth. ”Then I activate my other Set card—the ultimate reflecting Trap—

—Mirror Force!

Destroy all your opponent’s Attack Position monsters!”

”Muda!”

Kaiba’s voice was still calm.

As he spoke, it was as if an irresistible command shattered Mirror Force instantly.

The leader: ”!?”

Why? Even Mirror Force didn’t work?

”Mirror Force affects all monsters, not just targets...”

”Correct,” Kaiba said expressionlessly. ”But ’Prime Material Dragon’s effect: by discarding a card, I can negate and destroy any Spell, Trap, or monster effect that would destroy monsters on the field.”

The leader’s pupils shrank.

Dimensional Prison didn’t work, nor did Mirror Force...

Kaiba’s dragon onslaught swept over him. The leader closed his eyes and was knocked down.

This was... Seto Kaiba’s duel.

No weaknesses at all.

Too strong.

[Leader, LP 0]
