Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

Kira quickly realized something after arriving here. He was projecting into this world using the Link System and could bring some items from his virtual character in the Link System.

For example, a Duel Disk.

He stretched out his arm, pale blue data streaming to his left arm and quickly materializing into the Duel Disk he used when connecting to the Link System.

None of the spirits seemed surprised by the Duel Disk appearing from thin air—at most, they were curious about its technological look. Probably because spirits’ Duel Disks normally just materialize when they duel anyway.

”Duel!” x2

[Kira, LP 4000]

[Four-Eyed Demon, LP 4000]

”I’ll go first. Draw.”

Kira drew a card and, without much fuss, played five cards in one breath.

”I set one monster in defense and four face-down cards. Turn end.”

Five sets right off the bat, with barely a thought—so fast the opponent might have thought he was the one going first.

If this were Duel Academy, the students would already be sweating, but these simple demons had no such awareness.

”Heh heh, playing it safe, huh? I’ll soon show you that defense is useless in a place like this, and especially against me!”

Kira thought to himself—he’d heard this kind of talk a lot since coming here.

But after the duel, their mindset always changed.

”Just a reminder. In the bunker, the strong rule the weak,” the boss said. ”Killing other inmates isn’t allowed, but all other conflicts are settled by our own rules.”

He squinted, sneering.

”For us duelists, victory not only means you get to set the rules but also that the loser must hand over any one card the winner chooses. That’s the rule, got it?”

Kira frowned.

Huh? Only one card per duel?

How many duels would it take to win a whole deck? That’s way too slow!

His first thought was that their rules were flawed.

But no matter. Once he won, he’d fix the rules himself.

”My turn, draw!”

The boss glanced at his hand and quickly smiled.

”With this opening, I can go on the offensive right away. I activate—”

”Hold on, we’re still in the standby phase.”

Kira snapped his fingers.

”I activate the Trap Card—Trap Dustshoot! Activate only if your opponent has 4 or more cards in their hand. Look at your opponent’s hand, select 1 Monster Card in it, and return that card to its owner’s Deck.”

The boss frowned. ”Looking at my hand?”

The images of his six cards appeared before Kira, who quickly scanned them.

As expected, it was a demon-themed deck, but the power level seemed mediocre.

Kira casually picked a monster.

”Return ’Archfiend Interceptor’ to your deck.”

Archfiend Interceptor, level 4, ATK 1400, with a burn effect of 500 damage when the opponent attacks.

”Tch, annoying brat!”

The demon boss scowled as the card turned into a shadow and flew back to his deck.

”But you think such tricks will save you? No way! I activate—”

”Hold on, standby’s not over.”

Kira interrupted again.

”I activate Quick-Play Spell— Cold Feet.

You cannot activate, Set, or use the effects of any Spell/Trap Cards this turn.”

As he finished, a blast of cold air swept his field, and his backrow was instantly encased in thick ice, sealed away.

Boss Demon: ”???”

Not just the boss, but all the underlings were dumbfounded.

What kind of self-crippling card was this?

Isn’t that just suicide?

The boss frowned. ”Are you mocking me?”

”Perish the thought.”

Kira smiled.

”I’m being extra careful, since if you start your offense it’ll be tough for me. So, just to be safe…”

He chained another set card.

”Trap Card— Mystical Refpanel!”

A female spirit flew out, holding a mirror. The image of Cold Feet was reflected in the mirror as if sealed.

”Activate only when a Spell Card that targets 1 player is activated. The effect of that Spell Card is applied to the other player instead.”

The boss paused.

Let’s see… Cold Feet prevents the player who activated it from using or setting Spells/Traps this turn.

Mystical Refpanel swaps the effect to the other player.

So in this duel, the only other player is—

The boss blinked his four eyes, seeing his bewildered reflection in the mirror.

NANI…?!

A combo like this?!

”Mystical Refpanel’s effect transfers Cold Feet’s effect to you. So this turn, you can’t activate or set Spells or Traps.”

Kira grinned, pausing for effect.

”You’re welcome.”

The boss was instantly filled with the urge to tear that smiling face apart.

Welcome your ass, he thought.

The underling demons all gaped, their expressions increasingly ridiculous.

Uh…

The boss started with six cards, but before taking his turn had already lost a monster to banishment, and now his four Spells/Traps were locked in hand.

And it’s still just the first turn’s standby phase—his turn hadn’t even really started.

The demons looked at each other.

Even demons thought this guy’s dueling style was a bit much.

”Damn it, but I still have one card I can use!”

With his four Spells/Traps stuck, the boss gritted his teeth and played his only option.

”Normal Summon Archfiend Soldier!”

[Archfiend Soldier, ATK 1900]

Level 4, 1900 ATK—a solid single card. The reason Kira hadn’t shuffled it back was probably because it was vanilla, while the other had a burn effect.

But no matter, Archfiend Soldier’s excellent stats would do.

”Flip Trap—Bottomless Trap Hole.” Kira calmly flipped a card. ”When your opponent summons a monster with 1500+ ATK, destroy and banish it.”

Archfiend Soldier fell into the abyss, disappearing into another dimension.

Boss Demon: ”…”
