Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”Battle Phase!” Tomoki declared.

”Summoned Skull, attack the Set monster!”

The demon spread its wings, unleashing endless lightning. Thunder crackled in the black clouds, roaring like golden dragons. The attack crashed down on Kira’s Set monster.

Boom!

The Set card flipped, the monster’s image vanishing instantly, obliterated by lightning.

”My Set ’Magical Merchant’ activates,” Kira said. ”When flipped, I reveal cards from the top of my deck until I reveal a Spell or Trap. That card is added to my hand, the rest go to the graveyard.”

”Ah, a search effect,” Tomoki said, unconcerned.

Kira flipped seven cards in a row, then showed the seventh: ”I add the Spell Card ’Reasoning’ to my hand, the rest go to the graveyard.”

Six cards hit the graveyard.

Tomoki frowned slightly.

Reasoning also reveals from the top until a summonable monster appears, similar to Magical Merchant.

Is this guy searching for a specific combo?

”But now you have no wall monsters,” Tomoki said. ”So, ’Skull Archfiend of Lightning,’ direct attack!”

The thunderclouds surged again, lightning gathering in Skull Archfiend of Lightning’s hand like a javelin and launching at Kira.

”I activate my Set card,” Kira said. ”Trap Card, ’Dimensional Prison.’ When an opponent’s monster attacks, it’s banished.”

A dimensional rift appeared, blocking Skull Archfiend of Lightning’s fierce attack.

”Dimensional Prison also targets, so because of ’Metalsilver Armor,’ you can only target Skull Archfiend of Lightning.” Tomoki smiled. ”But, Skull Archfiend of Lightning’s effect also activates.

Demon’s Roulette!”

A sphere with numbers 1–6 floated above Tomoki’s hand, fire igniting at 1 and spinning clockwise.

”If it lands on 1, 3, or 6, Dimensional Prison is negated and destroyed.”

The fire spun like a windmill, then slowed and stopped at 3.

”Hahaha, it’s 3,” Tomoki grinned. ”So ’Dimensional Prison’ is negated and destroyed!”

Skull Archfiend of Lightning roared, lightning shattering the dimensional barrier. Even that could not withstand the demon’s power and quickly exploded.

”The attack continues!”

Boom!

Lightning struck, the entire arena trembling under its force. The air rang with thunder, and data streams exploded from Kira’s avatar, causing a brief glitch as he lost LP equal to Skull Archfiend of Lightning’s attack.

[Kira, LP 4000 → LP 1500]

Kira steadied himself, calmly taking the damage, and smiled. ”As expected from a Mr. Professional—what an effective combo.”

Tomoki clearly enjoyed the praise, standing tall. ”Of course. Don’t feel bad. I’m a pro, after all. It’s normal to feel the pressure.

Don’t stress, just do your best.”

He drew another card.

”I Set a card and end my turn.”

”Thank you, Mr. Professional. Now it’s my turn to do my best.”

Kira replied gently.

”My turn, draw.

I activate the Spell ’Card of Adversity.’ If my opponent controls a Special Summoned monster and I have none, I draw two cards.” (Anime card)

Tomoki nodded approvingly, like a patient mentor. ”Good. Don’t worry about winning or losing—just focus on dueling your best.”

”Alright, Mr. Professional,” Kira said. ”Next, I activate ’Reasoning,’ which I searched last turn. You call a level, and I reveal cards from the top of my deck until a summonable monster appears. If it matches your call, it goes to the graveyard. If not, I Special Summon it.”

Tomoki thought for a moment.

So far, Kira had only used Magical Merchant—no clue what this deck was. Logically, Level 4 was the most common.

”I call Level 4,” Tomoki said.

”Alright, Mr. Professional, here goes.”

Kira revealed three cards. On the third, a monster appeared.

”Too bad, Mr. Professional, I flipped a Level 1—’Mystic Piper.’”

Tomoki nodded. ”Summon it.”

He was even more confused.

What is this deck?

”By Reasoning’s effect, I Special Summon ’Mystic Piper.’”

[Mystic Piper, ATK 0]

”Then the other revealed cards go to the graveyard.”

Kira placed the two cards in the graveyard.

”Next, ’Mystic Piper’ activates—I tribute it to draw a card. If I draw a Level 1 monster, I reveal it and draw again.”

As he spoke, Mystic Piper played a melodious tune and dissolved into light.

”I draw for Piper’s effect.”

Kira drew, glanced, and revealed the card.

”It’s a Level 1 monster, ’Jester Confit,’ so I draw again.”

He drew another card.

Tomoki realized: the previous ’Magical Merchant’ was also Level 1. So he should have called Level 1 for Reasoning.

But who’d expect a deck full of Level 1 monsters?

Still, he had to ask: ”Is your deck all Level 1 monsters?”

”Not entirely—there are some high-level ones,” Kira smiled. After a pause, he added, ”But about 90% are.”

Tomoki was dumbfounded.

Then how do you plan to win?

Are you going to headbutt me with Kuriboh or something?
