Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

If you had to use one word to describe Seika Kohinata’s feelings at this very moment, this word would be the most fitting—

—Shattered.

How can someone’s ace and soul monster be summoned on the opponent’s field!?

Didn’t you feel even a little weird shouting it out yourself?

Regardless, now the Burning Lava God had arrived on her field, molten magma coursing over its body. Even though it was just a 3D projection, she could almost feel the scorching waves of heat. And in front of the demon stood a giant iron cage, with the other card monsters locked inside as if playing some kind of bondage game.

[Lava Golem, DEF 2500]

Kira continued: ”I activate the Spell Card ’Pot of Greed’ to draw two more cards from my deck.”

”Then I activate this card from my hand—

Spell Card—Terraforming!

I add a Field Spell from my deck to my hand.”

Although he still didn’t draw the crucial field spell with the Pot of Greed’s acceleration this turn, getting a searcher was almost as good. Kira reflected that the road to top-decking like a god was still long and arduous; it required persistent practice and more real-world dueling.

”I add the Field Spell ’Megaroid City’ from my deck to my hand,” Kira said. ”Then I activate the Field Spell ’Megaroid City’!”

With a rumbling roar, crisscrossing bridges rose, and the metallic city of transport Machinas occupied the dueling field.

”Next, I Set a card face-down.”

A projection of a pitch-black card appeared at Kira’s feet.

”Now I activate the effect of ’Megaroid City’!” Kira waved his hand, ”Once per turn, I can destroy one card on my field to add a ’Machina’ card from my deck to my hand.

I destroy the card I just set.”

The set card exploded into fragments, and a huge garage appeared in front of him.

”According to ’Megaroid City’s’ effect, I add a second ’Submarineroid’ from my deck to my hand,” Kira said. ”Although I can’t Normal Summon this turn after summoning ’Lava Golem,’ the card I just destroyed was ’Wonder Garage.’

When a set Garage is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon a Machine-Type monster of Level 4 or below from my hand.”

He slapped the just-searched monster onto his Duel Disk.

”Appear now! Submarineroid No. 2!”

A second little submarine jumped onto the field, its eyes giving off a ”super fierce.JPG” aura.

[Submarineroid, ATK 800]

Seika’s mouth twitched, wanting to speak but holding back; her resigned expression clearly said—

—Not you again!?

Some Ra Yellow students nearby, seeing this scene, felt an uncanny sense of familiarity. They sympathized a bit with the beautiful senpai’s predicament but also felt a slightly perverse satisfaction.

Especially those who had personally suffered submarine beatdowns in the past week—while cursing Kira for not knowing how to cherish a flower, they secretly hoped he’d go even harder.

”First, return the first ’Submarineroid’ to Attack Position.

Then, enter the Battle Phase. First, the first ’Submarineroid’ attacks Seika-senpai directly!”

The first submarine launched, firing two torpedoes past the front lines straight at Seika.

”Activate Set card!” Seika shouted, ”Trap Card ’Massivemorph’! I double the ATK and DEF of one monster on your field!

I choose your ’Submarineroid’ No. 1!”

[Submarineroid, ATK 800 → ATK 1600]

Spectators: ”NANI? She doubled the opponent’s ATK on purpose?”

”’Massivemorph’ has another effect!” Seika said, ”A monster whose ATK is doubled by this effect cannot attack directly!”

Everyone suddenly understood.

”She’s raising the ATK at a cost, using this clever method to avoid a direct attack. As expected of Seika-senpai!”

”Not only that but now Kira can only attack her set ’Warrior Lady of the Wasteland.’ And when Warrior Lady of the Wasteland is destroyed, she can Special Summon a Warrior with 1500 or less ATK from her deck…”

Kiran had already thought of this: ”Then with ’Massivemorph’ causing a battle replay, I forgo No. 1’s attack.

But I still have Submarineroid No. 2. No. 2 attacks directly!”

No. 1 retreated; No. 2 stepped up, torpedo effects trailing a stream of bubbles.

”At this moment, ’Megaroid City’s’ field effect: when a ’Machina’ monster battles, I send a ’Machina’ monster from my deck to the Graveyard to swap its original ATK and DEF!”

[Submarineroid, ATK 800 → ATK 1800]

Seika’s expression changed: ”An 1800 direct attack?”

But before she could finish, the torpedo was already on her face. She cried out, stumbling backward amid the explosion effects, causing an uproar.

[Kohinata Seika, LP 3200 → LP 1400]

”Kira!”

Seika gritted her teeth, struggling to restrain her urge to run over and smack him, for the sake of her idol and lady image.

”The ’Submarineroid’ that attacked changes to Defense Position. Then I set another card face-down in my back row. Turn end.”

Seika tried to calm herself, focusing back on her duel tempo.

”My turn, draw!”

”At this moment, ’Lava Golem’s’ effect!” Kira said, ”During your Standby Phase, Lava Golem inflicts 1000 damage to its controller!”

”Nani!?”

Seika’s face changed dramatically. She looked up to see that ugly, hulking fool looking down at her and grinning.

Then a huge mass of molten lava poured down, drenching her completely.

”Ugh!”

[Kohinata Seika, LP 1400 → LP 400]

She gritted her teeth and looked up again, her eyes bloodshot.

It was as if, for a moment, all thoughts of Duel Academy Queen and three-time champion vanished. She might have even forgotten why she was dueling; her mind was consumed by a single thought:

Beat this bastard to death!

”I drew the Equip Spell ’Axe of Despair!’” she shouted, ”I change ’Lava Golem’ to Attack Position and equip it!

The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK!”

[Lava Golem, ATK 3000 → ATK 4000]

”Now your Lava Golem has 4000 ATK! Feel your own monster’s power!

Lava Golem, attack—”

”Activate Set card.” Kira said calmly, ”Continuous Trap—Nightmare Wheel.

It targets one monster on your opponent’s field; that monster cannot attack or change its battle position.

I lock down your Lava Golem!”

Seika was about to explode.

What the hell is this!? My monster burns me and now it can’t even attack!?

Of course, Lava Golem is huge, and visually, the little Nightmare Wheel couldn’t possibly bind it. But the big dummy cooperated, sticking out its hands as if surrendering.

The wheel shackled Lava Golem’s hands. It let out a muffled ”Awoo,” stretching its cuffed hands toward Seika as if saying it was helpless.

See, it’s not that I don’t want to help, but I’ve been arrested.

Seika’s blood pressure skyrocketed.

Are you two in cahoots!?

Oh, wait—of course they are, those two jerks!

”Now it’s my turn—oh, almost forgot to mention.”

Kira smiled radiantly.

”Nightmare Wheel has another effect, Senpai.

When a monster is bound by ’Nightmare Wheel,’ its controller takes 500 damage each of my Standby Phases.”

Seika: ”!!??”

What!? How much damage!?

[Seika, LP 400]

Seika looked up in horror to see the burning Lava Golem staring at her.

Somehow, she saw a trace of innocence in the golem’s empty eyes as it slowly handed her the spiked spinning wheel.

As if saying, ”Don’t blame me, I really can’t help it.”

Seika collapsed on the floor, screaming.

Stay away from me!

Don’t come any closer, ahhh!!!

The spiked Nightmare Wheel rolled over her.
