After Mokuba left, a horde of researchers swarmed Kira, so eagerly he almost called for his Silent Magician to protect him.

Luckily, they didn’t get physical, just bombarded him with questions about what happened.

Kira briefly described touching the stone slab, being sucked into the Spirit World, learning about the evil god’s threat, and dueling Bandit Keith.

The experts weren’t too interested in the duel but asked repeatedly about the moment Black Luster Soldier appeared.

”There’s something else important,” said the team leader, dark circles under his eyes.

”Did you experience ’Spirit Sight’?”

Kira blinked. ”What’s that?”

The researchers exchanged puzzled looks. The leader realized, ”Oh, you’re a new student—this will be covered in class. Simply put, it’s a phenomenon where duelists with high spirit resonance occasionally experience visions. Usually, those with ’spirit affinity’ are more likely, but it can happen to anyone.”

”So what is it?”

”It’s hard to say. Some see ancient monsters, some see scenes or objects. Many ’Spirit Sight’ visions are still mysterious, but sometimes they inspire new card designs. Some research teams have created new monster forms or spells based on duelist visions.”

Kira thought he understood.

So it’s like getting inspiration for new cards, right?

If research teams had a reference, it could greatly speed up progress.

With that in mind, Kira decided to experiment.

”Oh, I think I did see something,” he said, pretending to remember.

The whole research team was thrilled. This was the first time anyone had resonated with the Black Luster Soldier ruins—maybe they could finally break through!

The team leader calmed everyone and asked, ”What did you see? Even small details help.”

”I remember—I saw two warriors, kind of like Black Luster Soldier but younger. Judging by their swords, one was LIGHT, one was DARK.”

The experts: ”!!!”

Actual clues!

They feverishly took notes.

”The two young warriors stood on an altar, with flames burning on both sides and crossed swords behind them. They disappeared on the altar, one became light, one became dark, then fused into Black Luster Soldier.”

Experts whispered, ”Could this be the ’Chaos Ritual’?”

”Is it about ritual tributes?”

The leader was struck by an idea: maybe the key to evolution lies in the ritual tribute selection.

”Oh, I saw another scene.”

Experts: ”!?”

What? Another one?

”Background was endless chaos, and the young warriors grew into the Envoy in the light. I can have your artist draw it for you.”

Kira continued: ”And another scene—”

Experts: ”???”

More?

He described several more, like ancient ritual sites, Gaia the Fierce Knight evolving into Black Luster Soldier, etc.

The research team was astonished—not only multiple visions, but each described in detail!

The leader even suspected Kira was making it up, but the resonance and spirit recognition were facts.

How high is this kid’s ’spirit affinity’?

Of course, Kira hadn’t seen any visions. As someone from the future who played the real card game, he knew exactly how the deck would develop.

The team found his descriptions precise to an absurd degree, but Kira could have given them the exact card effects and stats if he wanted.

But he knew, creating cards here wasn’t about writing effects—it was about describing the power the card truly had, so the text could be understood by duelists.

So he first described future cards like [Beginning Knight], [Envoy of the Evening Twilight], and the ritual spell [Super Soldier Synthesis].

[Beginning Knight] and [Evening Twilight Knight] are Level 4 warriors used as ritual material, granting Black Luster Soldier powerful effects.

[Super Soldier Synthesis] is the strongest ritual spell in the Chaos Soldier system, allowing you to use monsters from hand and deck as material.

He also described other support cards.

These wouldn’t be OP in the modern metagame, but with KaibaCorp’s research, they’d be strong in this era.

This was also an experiment: could his knowledge of future cards create them in this world?

The team leader exchanged contact info and promised to report any progress.

If successful, it would mean Kira’s knowledge of future cards could become an endless treasure trove!

”Overtime! Everyone, get to work!” the team leader shouted, seeing hope at last.

The Black Luster Soldier spirit floated behind Kira, confused.

Did my master see all that? Why didn’t I know...? Am I a fake spirit...?

PS: What the heck! In real life, Black Luster Soldier Card is freaking expensive.
