Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 362: Chapter 360:Salazar.

”We’re here.” Corvak spoke up as we arrived at the entrance to the massive guild building.

I took a moment to appreciate the building. It was many times larger than the one at sand city, showing clearly that the people here were of a general higher standard than sand city.

”Old man, tell me. The guild master here, what rank is he in, wanderer and strength wise.” I asked, curious.

”Guild master Salazar is An Abyss Sovereign. A Law creator stage powerhouse. Even within the outer fringes, he’s still a notable figure.” The man answered swiftly.

”I see.” Taking note of that, I pushed open the guild doors, stepping inside fully.

The interior of the building wasn’t any much different from the one at sand city, with only the scale being upped a bit more.

”Hello there, dear guests. Welcome the the Sathi’Can abyss wanderer guild branch. How may I be of assistance?” A guild attendant approached us, asking politely.

”Hello there. My name is Corvak sentai. I was sent by my guild master, Maersk culling, to seek an audience with Guild master Salazar. There’s an issue we wish resolved.” Corvak replied respectfully.

”Oh. Well, this way.” The man, unlike what I was expecting, didn’t pick up a fuss, merely smiling before gesturing for us to follow along.

”Hey... is everyone in this city this nice?” I couldn’t help whispering into shulvan’s ears.

Since stepping foot in this place, I have yet to encounter even a single altercation.

Not between outsiders and abyss walkers. Everything was too orderly and organized. With a systematic and rigid approach to things.

I was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable not being able to hit something that annoyed me.

”My lord. If you want, I can kick up a fuss and force a reaction.”

Slap!

”Ahh..”

”Who the hell told you to do that? I’m just asking you why everyone seems well behaved, you dunce.”

”I apologize my lord.”

Our low conversation continued as we slowly made our way up the very long flight of stairs, arriving swiftly before the guild master’s office.

”We’re here.” The attendant’s voice finally broke up mine and shulvan’s conversation.

I looked up. The guild master’s office door looked... plain.

Like something carved from normal wood, but..

”Huh?” My eyes flashed as they caught movement.

”What’s that?” My vision narrowed as I focused on the door, and then..

Weng!

I could see them. Glowing magical symbols carved into the plain wooden structure.

Millions of tiny packed symbols.

[Ding!]

[You have gained insight into runic inscriptions....

[You have gained insights into runic inscriptions...

...

”Runes?” I couldn’t help being interested.

Not in the runes themselves. No. In the person capable of inscribing them. Because from the feedback of what I was getting, these runes were something capable of an immense level of damage and protection simultaneously.

A sudden itch to test out their functionality suddenly welled up within me, but before I could act on it..

”Dear guests, please wait here. I shall inform the guild master. If he is free I shall let you know.” The attendant addressed us before moving ahead.

”Master Salazar. I seek audience.”

Silence fell for a brief moment, before.

CLICK!

The doors snapped. Like a lock being opened. Then, with a soundless creak, they opened. The view beyond the door being obscured by a dense amount of fog.

”I will be back soon.” The attendant said, before disappearing into the fog, the door closing softly behind him.

”Interesting...”

My interest rose even further. Now, I was eager to meet this Salazar fellow.

.....

It didn’t take long for the attendant to return. My bullying of shulvan stopping as I heard the door to the office creaking open slowly.

”The master will see you now.”

”Good.” I became excited immediately.

Something tells me this encounter was going to be a lot more fun than I intended.

Together, we all entered into the swirling fog. A feeling like passing through a curtain of water washed over me as I suddenly found myself in a separate space.

”Wha...?” I was genuinely stunned for the first time since entering the abyss.

The place we’d entered was unlike anything the abyss had shown me until now.

The place looked like nothing that could be associated with abyss.

With vibrant green grass. Beautiful trees. A blue sky. And the fresh breath of air that filled the entire space.

It honestly felt more like being on terra than being in the abyss.

”Hmm.. do you like it?” A youthful voice sounded from right beside us as I swiftly turned.

My gaze landing on a youth with dark skin. Pure white hair. Eyes the color of molten gold. He was tall, almost as tall as me, but that wasn’t the thing that got my attention..

”Strong!”

That was the first thing I felt when I laid eyes on him.

Strong. Not just strong. Unbelievably strong.

”Who are you?” I asked, voice deeper than expected.

”Hold your horses. We’ll get to introductions later. But first...”

His eyes suddenly glittered in pure excitement as he swiveled towards shulvan.

”Amazing!” He exclaimed.

”Marvelous. Wonderful. Such an incredible application of the laws.” The young man seemed to spiral even further as he studied shulvan like some lab project.

”What an out of the box genius.” His eyes sparkled with child like glee.

”You.. you were remade from the purest essence of entropy. To think it was possible to apply dominion over laws in such a reckless yet genius manner.”

”Marvelous. Truly. Our rigid ways of looking at laws are why we could never think to do something like this. Wonderful. And you’re whole? No! You’re better than whole. The laws bend toward you as though they chose you themselves. Magnificent..”

The man kept muttering nonsense nonstop, completely ignoring everyone else.

”Oyy! Creepy guy! You’re making my assistant uncomfortable.” I decided to butt in.

”Actually, my lord, I am quite..”

Slap!!

”Ahhh!!”

”If I say you’re uncomfortable, then you’re uncomfortable.”

”Yes my lord. Ahem! Dear sir, please keep your distance, you’re making me uncomfortable.” Shulvan finally acted right.

”Oh! I’m sorry. My bad. My bad. I just get excited whenever I encounter something this fascinating.” The man laughed.

”Well. Stop being fascinated by shulvan. You’ll send the wrong message.” I sneered.

”Hahahahahahaha... you’re right. Forgive my rudeness.” He laughed, before his attention focused on me.

”But. To think one could apply laws in such a manner. Recreating a living being from the purest essence of a law as chaotic as Entropy.”

”I don’t know if I should call you genius or mad.”

”I believe I can be both.” I couldn’t help grinning at his words.

”Hahahaha... I see. No wonder the laws favor you so. Just look at them. Fawning over you the moment you stepped in here. Sigh.. what a life. Even after spending eons trying get attuned to them, they leave me the moment they feel someone better... so fickle.” The young man seemed to have some screws loose as he shook his head, muttering a bunch of nonsense.

”But! You... you’re weird. How do you already have so many laws comprehended at that age?”

”What?”

”Time. Space. Death. Light. So many esoteric laws, and you’re barely an adult by human standards. Just what are you?”

Suddenly I had become the target of this weirdo’s fascination.

”Heh! You say all this when you’re like that?” I couldn’t help but scoff at his words.

The entire atmosphere around this man was saturated with so much pressure it felt like reality was twisting and churning.

What was worse was the fact that he wasn’t even trying. That was merely the little being released unconsciously.

”Hehehe... those eyes. I recognize those eyes.” He suddenly smiled at me.

”Hmm?” I raised a hand to my face.

”Heh!” Would you look at that. A battle crazed smile had already split my face somewhere during this conversation.

”Alright then. I can already tell what you want isn’t a conversation. And I just so happen to be curious about you as well. So, why don’t we ditch the superficial greetings and get straight to the main event?”

At his words, my battle lust exploded fully...

”Man. I couldn’t have said it better myself.”

Time to see what this Salazar fellow was made of.
