Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 165: Chapter 164:No one.. Not a single being..

”Uggghhhhh...” I groaned in pain..

Everything hurt..

Not a damn spot on my body that wasn’t screaming in agony..

The old man hadn’t gone easy, it was the toughest fight I’d ever had..

(A/N: brother is calling a beat down a fight..)

Sure it lasted exactly ten seconds..

Sure I was the only one trying to touch the old man..

Sure I got folded like wet laundry in one move.

But no one needed to know that, so long as I said I fought, then I fought..

But, I couldn’t be blamed for my loss, not at all..

I’d always known the old man was powerful, but it wasn’t until I actually faced the man that I knew just what absurdity I was dealing with..

Nothing worked against the man, absolutely nothing..

I threw all I had, from to , all were ineffective..

Hell, I even threw on the old man, he just straight up killed the falling sky..

HE KILLED THE FUCKING SKY!!!

How do you kill a collapsing sky? Just what the fuck was that?

It was at this point that I realized just how nerfed my death grandpas had been during our clash, because if valen could ”kill” the sky, then what more the representatives of Death Itself?

Wanna know what’s even more ridiculous? The fact that the old man got tired of patching me up during the fight that he straight up stopped it from working..

I was confused until I received this notification..

[You have gained insight into the [SUPREME]...

[You have gained insight into the [SUPREME]...

[You have gained insight into the [SUPREME]...

.....

Another fucking supreme law.

Wasn’t this old guy known for his comprehension of massacre?

Now, how the hell was he using negation to void my ability’s activation???

The will to fight left me the moment I saw that, I already knew how horrifying it was to be capable of negating someone’s abilities, my Abyssal Firmament Dominion already dabbled somewhat in that regard, so I knew I was totally screwed...

Hence why I was currently on my back, trying to get some feeling back into anything else that wasn’t my head, since that was the only thing I could move at the moment..

”Damn old monster..”

”Hmm? What was that?”

”Nothing..” I hurriedly shut up, far be it from me to court another beating like that..

...

...

A calm and comfortable silence settled between us once more, the old man going back to meditation, while I tried to not feel like roadkill..

”That ability you use, the one that lets you recover, it’s not a healing or regeneration ability, is it?” The old man’s voice broke the silence as he asked..

”Hmmm?”

I contemplated the question, while it wasn’t that much of a big deal, still, telling the specifics to others might lead to unforeseen consequences.

Yes, I know I told aunt v about my system and everything, but that’s different, I could trust that woman with my life, but I barely knew the man before me other than the fact that he was my father’s sworn brother and apparently my godfather.

”Yes, it’s not a regenerative or healing ability.” I bit the bullet, it wouldn’t be that bad even if it came back to bite me in the ass..

”But, how could you tell?” I asked..

”Negation had struggled to prevent its activation, imagine that, a Supreme law meant to nullify the effects of other abilities and laws, struggling to contain a single ability, it wasn’t hard to figure out.” The old man replied, eyes still closed in meditation..

I raised an eyebrow.

He’s just going to casually drop the fact that he comprehended another supreme law like it’s nothing?

”So, you’re just going to drop the fact that you comprehended more than one supreme law and act like it’s natural?” I had to ask..

”Hmm?” His eyes finally opened as he looked at me, confusion clear on his face, a true expression on that stoic face..

”What’s wrong with that?” He asked..

”What do you mean ’what’s wrong with that?’ Isn’t that suppose to be like some secret or something?”

”Ahhh.. so it’s that?” The old man closed his eyes again, breathing steady, but before I could ask again, he answered..

”That fool, Regulus, he always said family doesn’t need to keep secrets from family.” Damn.

My question got stuck in my throat.

Here I was contemplating if I should trust the guy, but he was already considering me family?

”Heh.. no need to feel guilty, it’s good to be cautious of everyone, it atleast shows you’re not arrogant enough to disclose all your secrets foolishly.” The old man laughed, once again seemingly aware of my thoughts..

”Did you... did you know me before now?” I asked, because even if he was close with my dad, being this free with me after just meeting me a few days ago? It didn’t feel normal..

”We all did..” he opened his eyes once again, a melancholic smile on his face..

”Your father wouldn’t shut up about his beautiful baby boy, how talented he was and how he was going to become the strongest in all of terra, ’he’ll be infinitely more powerful than me’ he’d said.”

I listened closely..

”Going on to force roles upon each and everyone one of us, imagine my shock when he slapped the label of godfather on me?

’If ever there’s something powerful enough to make me unavailable for the boy, I trust you to carry on where I stopped’ he’d said with that annoying laugh of his, foolish man he was.”

I looked up, valen’s face had turned towards the blue sky, my eyes widened as I caught the sight of tears trailing down his face, I kept silent, the topic seemed to weigh heavily on the man..

”Heh.. the fool was even muttering something about taking you to the towerofascension, saying he had to show you to somebody, rub your talent in their faces, crazy man he was, imagine wanting to take a child to a place as dangerous as the tower, luckily your mother was ther to slap some senses into his head.” He shook his head, the smile never leaving his face..

He looked back at me, a radiant smile on his face, he hadn’t bothered to wipe the tears, I don’t even think he knew they were there, or maybe he just didn’t care.

”So yes, my boy, I knew you before this, we all did..”

...

The quiet returned, this time more heavy with feelings..

”How was he, my father, how powerful was he?”

”Powerful enough that I still believe I’m in an illusion, that would seem more realistic than believing he actually died.” Valen’s reply was immediate..

”Because it would make more sense to believe I’d somehow fallen into a very realistic illusion than to believe that bastard was killed.”

”You need to understand, Dante.” His expression had returned to that indifferent look he liked to carry around..

”Your father wasn’t just strong, he was impossible, an anomaly, something many believed would become the second coming of the great Devourer, only this time many times more horrible, he had enemies too numerous to count, yes, but he was also too much for any of them to be capable of ever doing anything to him, that’s why I still cannot wrap my head around how he was killed, because in all of terra.”

He paused, expression turning solemn..

”There is not one soul I believe capable of contending with regulus, barring the dean of the academy, I do not believe there is anyone capable of contending with your father.”

He looked towards the sky as his expression hardened..

”People will say we were rivals during our time and that might have been true during our youth, but along the line, your father got so powerful, I lost the qualifications to look at his back.”

”Forget about the obscenity that was his Draken Bloodline, a bloodline that made it capable for him to house not just one, but Three Mythical dragon bloodlines, that fool went even further.”

Here valen paused, he seemed to be weighing his words..

”He’d gotten into contact with something that even now, there have been no such records, old or new, of anything like that ever being discovered.”

He took a deep breath as he prepared himself, the moment feeling heavy..

”[PRIMORDIAL]”

The world glitched the moment those words left his lips, almost as if the words themselves were too heavy for reality..

”Whether it was a law or something else, neither of us knew, but he had gained a rudimentary understanding of that thing..”

”He hadn’t even scratched the surface, was what he said, yet the things I saw him do with that... thing..”

”I am sure, with the sole exception of the dean, no one, not a single being on terra should’ve been able to contend with regulus, much less take him down, because tell me my boy..”

He finally looked at me, ”what could possibly kill someone wielding the very concept of THE END?”

**************

A/N: again, what the fuck? Why does this regulus guy keep feeling like a final boss? How the hell did he even die? People don’t even know what a primordial law is but bro already comprehended one? Damn!
