The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 420: Chapter 420: Requesting a Setup

Ye Feng smiled. ”The Xu family. If you don’t want to borrow from them, you could also get a loan from the bank. The Xu family can be your guarantor.”

Han Xiaorui was stunned, unable to believe it. ”Ye Feng, the Xu family will be my guarantor? Are they that certain I can make a profit?”

Ye Feng smiled. ”Of course. The infrastructure here is already under construction, but it lacks a way to draw people in. What could be more fun than a Sea Entertainment Park? Especially in the summer, which is the peak season for tourism. The seaside is also a great place to escape the heat.”

Chen Yupeng nodded. ”That’s right. Actually, Xiao Rui, you could definitely bring in a few more investors.”

The government could cooperate on policy and such, but they had no money to offer.

With all the major demolition and construction happening everywhere, they could offer services, just not funding.

Han Xiaorui thought for a moment. ”Among the wealthy people I know, there’s the Xu family, and... Zhang Guangnan.”

Ye Feng smiled. ”Perhaps my aunt would be willing? If you’re going to build it, build it well. It will be a huge draw by next summer.”

”Okay, I’ll call them later and ask them to come over,” Han Xiaorui said with a smile. ”For the water park, the preliminary evaluation is crucial. It’s important for it to be fun, but safety is even more important.”

”Also, there’s the aquarium. My aquarium, with so many types of fish, will definitely be fascinating. If we can integrate the two, that would be even better. In any case, this requires a design and an assessment.”

Once she had a plan, Han Xiaorui would follow through.

Things should move quickly once the funding was in place.

For dinner, they had seafood rice at Han Xiaorui’s house.

Around eight o’clock, Chen Yupeng and Yao Yulan took Mianmian home together, looking very happy.

Ye Feng watched them leave. ”They’ve resolved their problems, so they probably won’t get divorced now.”

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”That’s good. They love each other, so they should be together forever. If they separated, they would definitely never find true love again.”

That evening, Han Xiaorui called Zhang Guangnan.

When Zhang Guangnan heard it was about investing in a water park and an aquarium, he said, ”Xiao Rui, I’ll come over tomorrow morning. How about we talk in person?”

”Okay,” Han Xiaorui said with a smile. ”It’s an investment, after all. It’s real money, so we have to be cautious. It’s hard to get into the details over the phone.”

Zhang Guangnan’s three seafood restaurants brought in substantial daily profits.

He was also building a seafood restaurant in Jinshan Bay, a six-story building!

On Han Xiaorui’s advice, he had two elevators installed.

Construction was complete, and it was now undergoing interior renovations.

Recently, many people had approached him to invest in opening factories and the like, but he wasn’t familiar with those industries.

He didn’t understand the projects and he didn’t know the people, so he had no plans to invest.

But if it was Han Xiaorui, it was different. He was familiar with water parks; he had seen them abroad, and they were always packed.

So, at nine-thirty the next morning, Zhang Guangnan arrived.

He brought a fruit basket filled with high-quality fruit.

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”Oh my, you even brought imported fruit. This durian... I’m the only one in the family who likes it; everyone else thinks it stinks.”

Zhang Guangnan smiled. ”Some people love it, some people hate it. It’s a very polarizing fruit. If you like it, enjoy it. I have a source.”

”Alright, I won’t stand on ceremony then,” Han Xiaorui laughed, pointing to the Peach Garden beyond the wall. ”When you leave, I’ll pick a basket of peaches for you to take home. They’re incredibly fragrant and sweet.”

Zhang Guangnan smiled. ”You know, I had some of your peaches last year. They were delicious; I really loved them.”

”If you like them, just come and pick some. Don’t be shy,” Han Xiaorui said with a smile. ”Last year, the family was short on money, so we sold the peaches. This year, we have more people, so I just divide them among the employees and we eat the rest ourselves.”

Envy showed in Zhang Guangnan’s eyes. ”I’d love to have an orchard like this too, but I’m spread too thin right now to start one. I can only yearn for the ’Peach Blossom Spring’ of my imagination.”

Han Xiaorui shook her head and chuckled. ”If you have a ’Peach Blossom Spring’ in your heart, then everywhere is a ’Peach Blossom Spring.’ For common folk like us, let’s not be so ethereal. Alright, let’s get back to business. You mentioned before that if a good investment opportunity came up, we could work together.”

Zhang Guangnan nodded repeatedly. ”That’s why I came over as soon as you called! Actually, a lot of people have been asking me to invest in factories lately. Some say they have advanced foreign technology, others say it’s something newly developed at a university, and still others claim it’s a traditional craft that’s popular overseas.”

”There are so many different pitches, all kinds of them, it makes my head spin. You know what I’m like. I run seafood restaurants, I know seafood like the back of my hand, and I’m decent at business. The money is pretty good. But my focus is solely on the restaurants, and I don’t have the energy for anything else.”

”Other people want to use my money to invest, hoping my money will make money for them, but I’m no fool! If what they said was reliable and could turn a profit, that would be one thing. But if the project isn’t good, or the people aren’t, and it can’t make money, then it’s all just money down the drain.”

”When I count on my fingers, the only person around here that I trust and admire is you, Han Xiaorui! So, as long as it’s a project you’re backing, if you’ll let me invest, I’m in.”

Han Xiaorui was slightly taken aback by his words, then shook her head and chuckled. ”You’re praising me a little too highly!”

Zhang Guangnan waved his hand. ”I’m not praising you; I’m just telling the truth! Since last year, I’ve watched you get to where you are, one step at a time.”

”To outsiders, it seemed very bold, like you were taking huge leaps! But look at it now—everything you’ve done has been a complete success.”

”I just took a detour past the Jinshan Bay Primary School and junior high on my way here. The schools are built very well. I don’t know why, but as I passed by, I felt like I was surrounded by a scholarly atmosphere.”

”If I had kids, I would definitely send them to school here! I feel like this is an outstanding place that nurtures talent. If they study here, they’ll grow up to be successful and upstanding people!”

Han Xiaorui was a little surprised. Thanks to Yao Ziqian’s planning, the feng shui of the primary and junior high school area was indeed a Wenchang position, which was excellent.

Not only that, but the fountain in the school, which sprayed water year-round, had been infused with the Water Ability.

The water there was connected to the sea, allowing a continuous flow of the ocean’s majestic energy to pour in.

’I just hadn’t expected Zhang Guangnan’s perception to be so sharp. Looks like you can’t underestimate anyone.’

”Well, you’ll have to get married first before you can have kids!” Han Xiaorui smiled. ”Find a woman you’re compatible with and get married and have kids soon. You don’t work for the government. Since you’re rich, you can have more kids and just pay the family planning fines.”

Zhang Guangnan gave a bitter smile. ”Sigh... For me, it’s a case of ’no water is wide enough after one has crossed the great sea, no cloud is beautiful but that which crowns the Wushan Gorge.’ My last marriage was such a failure; it really scared me off.”

”But I went to see my mom yesterday, and her complexion looked much better. She’s undergoing reform through labor inside, and she’s very good at tailoring. She’s become a sewing teacher in there, teaching the other female inmates how to make clothes.”

”She doesn’t have freedom, but her daily routine is very regular. There’s no mental pressure, and the physical labor is moderate, so it’s much better than her life was before. She said she’ll serve her time properly inside, and her only request for me is that I find a good woman on the outside, get married, and have children.”
