The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 287: Chapter 287: ”Anti-Japanese Little Hero

Although Yamamoto Yoshihiko couldn’t understand Chinese, he could feel Yang Zhigang’s anger and hatred.

The translator felt completely innocent. He was just earning a little money by translating what the other party said, nothing more.

’How did I end up being labeled a traitorous interpreter for the Japanese devils?’

”Mr. Yang, both of you, please don’t be angry or agitated. If you don’t agree, you don’t agree. The court will sentence them as it sees fit. But if you hit someone, you’ll definitely be detained.”

”Detention and sentencing will leave you with a criminal record. In the future, your children might need to pass a political background check, so you absolutely must not resort to violence.”

Yang Zhigang nodded. ”Fine, we won’t hit him. Tell that devil to get lost. We won’t agree to a settlement.”

The translator relayed the message faithfully to Yamamoto Yoshihiko.

Yamamoto Yoshihiko’s expression darkened. His ancestors had been merchants who had acquired many fine things from Hua Country.

However, his father had been a good-for-nothing who squandered the family fortune, and now only the ornamental fish business remained.

To establish himself as an expert in high-end ornamental fish in Japan, Yamamoto Yoshihiko had put in a great deal of effort. He gave lectures, published books, and appeared on television; he was a minor celebrity in his own right.

Now, to be surpassed in ornamental fish breeding by the very Hua Country people he looked down on, and to be cursed to his face... Yamamoto Yoshihiko was furious.

”You’ve offended me. Don’t even think about selling your ornamental fish in Japan. I’ll use all my connections to block any ornamental fish exported from Hua Country.”

The translator’s heart skipped a beat when he heard this. He quickly translated for Yang Zhigang and Yang Jianguo.

”Your farm exports so many ornamental fish to Japan; you have to take the Japanese market seriously. Yamamoto Yoshihiko is a famous ornamental fish expert in Japan and holds a lot of authority in the field. I suggest you reconsider.”

Yang Zhigang and Yang Jianguo hesitated slightly. After all, such large orders were at stake.

Besides, Han Xiaorui was the majority shareholder.

Just then, Han Xiaorui walked in from outside and immediately shut it down. ”What kind of ’expert’ is he? A fake one, probably. When he couldn’t figure it out himself, he resorted to stealing our techniques. It’s laughable for him to call himself an expert in front of us.”

”If he has the power to ban imports from Hua Country, let him try. I’d like to see if he really has that kind of pull.”

The translator relayed Han Xiaorui’s words. Yamamoto Yoshihiko’s face turned livid with rage. Knowing he wouldn’t get a letter of forgiveness, he didn’t waste any more words.

He shot a hateful glare at Han Xiaorui, Yang Zhigang, and Yang Jianguo, then stormed off in a huff.

Yang Jianguo asked, ”Xiao Rui, will this affect our ornamental fish exports? Japan is currently the biggest country we export to.”

They weren’t so much concerned about how much money they made, but they were worried they wouldn’t be able to earn foreign currency for the country. That would affect the nation’s ability to purchase foreign technology and equipment, hindering national progress.

Han Xiaorui waved her hand with a light laugh. ”Don’t worry. Kuno Hiroo was able to ruin the business of Yamamoto Yoshihiko and his classmate, so he’s naturally not afraid of him. The only reason Yamamoto resorted to such desperate measures, like kidnapping Xiao Min, was because Kuno Hiroo’s ornamental fish were cutting into his business.”

Hearing this, Yang Jianguo breathed a sigh of relief. ”That’s good. Kuno Hiroo seems very capable. He should be able to withstand the pressure.”

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”We’re exporting ornamental fish, not hazardous materials. They aren’t on any list of prohibited imports, and they make up a tiny fraction of their total import volume. Kuno Hiroo’s family won’t just stand by and watch a brand-new business venture get destroyed by Yamamoto Yoshihiko.”

”When all is said and done, even if they really do ban ornamental fish imports from Hua Country, there’s still Hong Kong, right? We can just transship through there.”

”Besides, we have plenty of clients in Europe and America, and I’m also developing a domestic client base. We’ll strive to get agents in all the major cities across the country. The Japanese market is important, but it’s not our only market.”

Yang Jianguo was delighted. ”Excellent. I was just about to discuss this with you. While you were away at the trade show, Xiao Jing’s classmate, a woman named Wu Yunqian, came over from Nanjing with her uncle.”

Han Xiaorui thought for a moment, then said, ”Brother Jianguo, whether it’s the domestic market or the international one, we need to start exploring and experimenting boldly. The agency contracts shouldn’t be too long, but not too short either. Let’s sign them for two-year terms.”

Yang Jianguo agreed. ”Alright. Boss Wu is a businessman himself. He saw how well our ornamental fish business is doing and thinks he can do the same in Nanjing. He wants to be the provincial agent and will be responsible for developing the market in the cities under his purview.”

Han Xiaorui nodded. ”Sure. Send someone to investigate the situation there. If it looks good, we’ll sign him. It’s only for two years anyway. If it doesn’t work out, we can always find another agent.”

”I also found an agent in Guangzhou this time. I’ll hand over the relevant details to you. Brother Jianguo, I’ll have to trouble you with building out our domestic sales channels.”

Just as Han Xiaorui and Yang Jianguo were discussing matters related to domestic agents, a man from the security department came running over in a hurry.

”This is bad, Brother Jianguo! The kids have gotten into trouble!” Liu Xiangnan was in a panic, looking as if something terrible had happened.

Han Xiaorui and Yang Jianguo were both startled. ”What’s wrong? What happened to the children?”

Liu Xiangnan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”Minmin led the village kids to throw dog poop at the devil’s car! And some of the boys found firecrackers somewhere and threw them under his car, saying they were going to blow it up!”

Upon hearing this, Han Xiaorui, Yang Jianguo, and Yang Zhigang all burst out laughing.

Yang Zhigang laughed so hard he wiped tears from his eyes. ”Quick, call the security guys. We can’t let our little anti-Japanese Eighth Route Army soldiers get the short end of the stick!”

Just moments before, while Yamamoto Yoshihiko was talking with Han Xiaorui and Yang Jianguo, Yang Minmin had come over to pass on a message for her mother.

She happened to overhear the translator and learned that the old Japanese man was actually trying to plead for the kidnapper.

’I was the one who was kidnapped!’

’How could I not get revenge for this?’

Many children were playing in the small village square. When they heard that the ”little devil” who had kidnapped Yang Minmin was here, they immediately started shouting, ”Down with the little devils!”

These kids, around ten years old, feared nothing. They had learned all about anti-Japanese heroes like Zhao Yiman and stories like ”The Urgent Letter” in class.

Now that they had a chance to ”fight a devil,” they sprang into action with incredible efficiency.

Some grabbed sticks and shovels, ready to smash the car.

Yang Minmin stopped them. ”We can’t smash it. This car is very expensive. If we break it, we’ll have to pay for it.”

”If we don’t smash it, how can we get revenge?” one of the village kids asked, scratching his head. It just didn’t feel satisfying enough.

Yang Minmin raised an eyebrow and grinned mischievously. ”We’ll throw dog poop on their car. It won’t break the car, but it’s super disgusting.”

And so, the children of Jinshan Bay scrambled to find dog poop and pelted the car Yamamoto Yoshihiko was riding in.

When Yamamoto Yoshihiko and his translator were about to come out, a child immediately ran out and blew a whistle.

Hearing the whistle, Yang Minmin yelled, ”The little devil is coming out! Little Eighth Route guerrillas, run! Don’t let them catch you!”

The great dog-poop guerrilla war ended in a decisive victory, with Yang Minmin leading all her little comrades in a retreat so swift they vanished without a trace.
