The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: Even Ye Feng Couldn’t Stand It

Seeing Han Xiaorui approach, Ye Feng squeezed through the crowd to meet her.

”Xiao Rui, do you like this big ship?” Ye Feng asked with a light chuckle. The entire salvage fleet was set to depart tomorrow.

Han Xiaorui nodded, her eyes glued to the ship, unable to look away.

’With a ship this big, my cabin could be larger, and the fish hold could be bigger too.’

”I love it. My fishing boat is only about thirty meters long! If I had a big ship that was sixty or seventy meters long, I could go to so many places for deep-sea fishing.”

Ye Feng smiled. ”Then I can order one for you!”

Han Xiaorui blinked. ”How much would one of these cost?”

Ye Feng thought for a moment. ”With all the equipment, it would be at least ten million!”

Han Xiaorui did some mental math, then shook her head. ”Never mind, I won’t buy one.”

Ye Feng was surprised. ”But don’t you like it a lot?”

Han Xiaorui nodded. ”Of course I love it! But next year, they’re starting a strict fishing ban period. During the ban, deep-sea fishing vessels can’t return once they’ve gone out.”

”That means the catch would have to be sold abroad. We could run into all sorts of problems, involving many different countries. It’s a huge hassle.”

”Besides, my children are young. Being gone for two or three days is one thing, but not coming back for several months... that would be too irresponsible to them.”

When Ye Feng heard this, his heart skipped a beat.

He was relieved Han Xiaorui didn’t insist. It wasn’t that he was unwilling to spend the money on a boat; it was that if she really went deep-sea fishing and he didn’t see her for months, he wouldn’t be able to stand it.

The sea was far more unpredictable than land. Drifting out on the ocean, one often encountered violent storms and torrential rain.

Ye Feng couldn’t bear months of worrying sick about her.

”Then we won’t buy it. I can’t be away from you either!” Ye Feng said with a smile. ”When the kids are older, we can take them on a cruise.”

Han Xiaorui nodded. ”That’s an excellent idea. After you’re done with the tour of the salvage ship, come by my place when you have time. I have something cool to show you.”

Ye Feng gave a faint smile. ”Don’t tell me you’ve found another shipwreck?”

Han Xiaorui gave him a mysterious smile. ”Guess!”

Ye Feng pondered for a moment, his eyes shining. ”Then it must be a shipwreck!”

”It’s not always a good thing when your boyfriend is too smart. There’s no mystery left!” Han Xiaorui pouted with a helpless expression.

Ye Feng shook his head and chuckled. ”Alright, next time I’ll pretend I didn’t guess it and make a few more tries!”

”Okay, it’s very crowded today, so you go ahead and greet the other guests. I’ll take the kids to look around. We’re going downtown to do some shopping later.”

Ye Feng nodded. ”Okay, you guys go have fun! It’ll be too late for me tonight, so I won’t go. I’ll come over to your place tomorrow!”

Han Xiaorui nodded. ”Okay!”

A deep-sea salvage team like this not only required extensive oceangoing experience but also included many cultural relic experts and various technical personnel.

Finding shipwrecks, salvaging them, and figuring out how to preserve the items inside were all difficult challenges.

But now, Han Xiaorui had already done the work of finding the shipwreck for them.

Their next step was to begin the salvage, which meant their workload was already significantly reduced compared to others.

Seeing that Ye Feng was busy, Han Xiaorui took her group and left after they finished touring the salvage ship.

She couldn’t look any longer. If she did, she’d be overcome with the impulse to buy a ship.

Wu Jiao exclaimed, ”Oh my gosh, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a seagoing vessel so big and wide!”

Wu Yao agreed. ”To see something like this in my lifetime is a real eye-opener!”

Previously, they had received help from Brother Ye Feng, who said he had found them jobs in Shencheng.

They had assumed they would be working day and night in a private factory, but it turned out their job was just to look after the children, cook, and do some chores at Han Xiaorui’s home.

For them, a job like this was incredibly simple.

’Thank you, Brother Ye Feng. Thank you, Sister Xiao Rui. But of course, the one we should thank the most is our own dear brother who cherished and loved us.’

’Even though our brother sacrificed his life, he’s loving us in another way.’

Because Ye Feng had bought Han Xiaorui so many clothes, when she went to the mall and felt the urge to buy more, she had to restrain herself.

More than a dozen outfits for a single season was already a great luxury. Enjoying it was one thing, but she couldn’t be wasteful.

Even Pingping and An’an’s clothes were picked out by Xu Yingying and Old Madam Xu.

The style and quality of the clothes were impeccable, and of course, the price was not cheap either.

With the fun of shopping gone, Han Xiaorui decided to take everyone out for a big meal.

After eating, she took the children to see Expert Wang for an assessment.

The intervention was working very well for Pingping, An’an, and Wenjun.

Now that they were in kindergarten and spending their days with other children, their progress was even faster than before.

This discovery was something Expert Wang also took very seriously.

”Xiao Han, the two people I sent over will be conducting long-term tracking. I will also visit every two weeks to conduct in-depth research.”

”Trust me, as long as the children continue to make progress, we are winning.”

Han Xiaorui nodded. ”You’re right, Expert Wang! Pingping and An’an might be a little slower than other children, but as long as they keep progressing, they can continuously improve their cognitive abilities.”

”Exactly!” Expert Wang nodded. Among all her patients’ families, Han Xiaorui was the one who took it most seriously and was the most willing to invest her efforts.

For professionals like them, this was also a huge source of support and comfort.

Han Xiaorui trusted them, unlike some parents who would give up after just half a month of classes if they didn’t see significant results.

’They’re actually giving up far too early!’

The ages of three to six were extremely important. Children have two compensatory periods, and seizing them can be of immense benefit.

Receiving Expert Wang’s affirmation put Han Xiaorui and Liang Xiaoyu in excellent moods.

As it happened, they were not far from the aquarium shop near the school, so Han Xiaorui and her group went over to take a look.

Pingping had excellent eyesight. ”That’s Auntie!”

An’an’s gaze followed. ”Auntie!”

Han Xiaoqing was at the aquarium shop stocking up on fish with a few of her classmates.

Hearing her nieces’ cries, Han Xiaoqing quickly turned and ran over. ”Pingping, An’an! Big Sis, what are you all doing here?”

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”We got back from a fishing trip yesterday, and today we came to see the salvage ship at the deep-water pier.”

”After that, we had a meal, then went to the hospital for the assessment. We were just passing by and decided to take a look, and we ran into you! What are you doing here?”

Han Xiaoqing replied, ”A classmate of mine was in a car accident and is in the hospital!”

”The driver who hit them fled the scene, and the medical bills are very high! Donations from classmates aren’t nearly enough. So I had an idea to buy fish from this shop and sell them at the entrance of our school.”

”Then I can use the money we earn to pay for our classmate’s treatment! I hope she gets well soon!”

Hearing this, Han Xiaorui’s face filled with concern. ”Does your school let you set up a stall at the entrance?”

Han Xiaoqing nodded. ”Yes! There are lots of little stalls selling food and other things! It’s just doing business, not illegal profiteering.”

”We have classes during the day, so we don’t have enough time to make food. But ornamental fish are different. We can just carry a bucket back, bring a few boxes of small fish tanks, and we’re ready to set up shop.”

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”Since it’s to raise money for your classmate’s medical bills, I’ll have Wenwen sell them to you at cost, with no profit.”

”However, after you’ve raised enough for the medical bills, if someone wants to start a business selling these little ornamental fish to make money, then they can’t be sold at that price!”
