The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: My Sister Met a Scumbag

Han Xiaorui carried a basin holding two Yellowlip Fish, each weighing five or six pounds. ”Brother Liu, these two fish were just caught today. One for you and one for Uncle Liu.”

Liu Sihai often received sea fish from Han Xiaorui, so he smiled and said, ”Thanks, Xiao Han. This fish is very valuable. You shouldn’t give them to me anymore.”

She was already paying to rent his car, which gave him a stable daily income.

The fish she gave him now were personal favors, so Liu Sihai drove even more carefully and had an even better attitude.

He was always willing to wait, whether she was a little early or a little late.

”You’re welcome. Drive safe, Brother Liu,” Han Xiaorui said with a smile. ”No matter how expensive they are, I caught them from the sea myself. Just have a taste. Yellowlip Fish is delicious.”

”Thanks. See you tomorrow.” As soon as he heard they were Yellowlip Fish, Liu Sihai decided not to eat his. He’d sell it when he got to the city.

’Just this one fish could sell for a lot of money!’

The gatekeeper, Uncle Liu, was a gourmand. He wouldn’t sell his; he was keeping it to eat himself.

After eating Han Xiaorui’s fish, Uncle Liu became even more conscientious. He started asking around about anything related to Han Xiaorui, Han Xiaoqing, Pingping An’an, and Cai Wenjun.

And his inquiries really did uncover something big!

The next day, he had Liu Sihai pass on a message.

Han Xiaorui had been coming home earlier these past few days. Her afternoons were spent working on the Peach Garden and the construction of the village’s farm.

This was especially true for the farm. Although Yang Jianguo was overseeing it, Han Xiaorui needed to keep an eye on certain things to ensure it was built according to her vision.

When Liu Sihai dropped the children off, he relayed Uncle Liu’s message. ”Xiao Han, my uncle asked me to pass on a message. He’s heard that a male doctor at the hospital has been trying to get close to Xiao Jing, and he’s worried she’ll be taken advantage of.”

”Ah?” Han Xiaorui was taken aback. She looked at her sister, Han Xiaoqing, who was gently smiling as she helped the children wash their hands.

Her sister’s clothes were all carefully chosen by Han Xiaorui—well-fitting and fashionable.

She was tall and slender with delicate features, prettier than any flower.

”Brother Liu, why would Uncle Liu say that? Is there something wrong with that person?” Han Xiaorui asked quickly. She wanted her sister’s help, but she definitely didn’t want her to get into trouble.

Liu Sihai nodded. ”Now that you know, just have Xiao Jing be careful. But don’t tell her my uncle was the one who said it.”

”Of course not,” Han Xiaorui nodded quickly. ”Don’t worry, Brother Liu. As long as we’re aware of it, we can be on guard.”

Liu Sihai lowered his voice. ”Doctor Zhao studied abroad. Since he started working at the hospital three years ago, he’s dated no fewer than ten female doctors and nurses.”

”He uses his good looks, his handsome face, and his family background. When he’s dating them, everything is great. But as soon as the topic of marriage comes up, he says he’s still young, not ready to get married, and doesn’t want to be tied down by matrimony.”

”My uncle says—he says Doctor Zhao is just a scoundrel. If you’re not going to get married, why date someone? I heard some of the doctors and nurses couldn’t take it and made a big scene, which had a really bad impact. Most of them transferred away.”

Han Xiaorui was dumbfounded. ”This Doctor Zhao is a real bastard. Dating without the intention of getting married is just being a scoundrel. He might not have learned any foreign medical skills, but he certainly picked up the decadent dregs of capitalism.”

Liu Sihai deeply agreed, nodding in accord. ”Exactly. He’s a piece of work. If Doctor Zhao makes advances, just ignore him. If he harasses her, go straight to Expert Wang and have him deal with it.”

Han Xiaorui appreciated Uncle Liu’s and Liu Sihai’s kindness. ”Brother Liu, please thank Uncle Liu for me.”

”It’s what we should do,” Brother Liu said with a smile. ”Alright, I’ve got more passengers to pick up, so I’ll be going.”

Even though Han Xiaorui tried to make him stay, Liu Sihai was too embarrassed to have a meal there.

After Liu Sihai left, Han Xiaorui wondered how she should bring this up with her sister.

After dinner, the children were playing in the yard.

Han Xiaorui peeled an orange, having rehearsed what she wanted to say. ”Xiao Jing, has a certain Doctor Zhao been acting unusually friendly toward you lately?”

Han Xiaoqing thought for a moment, then nodded. ”Yes, he’s a little overly enthusiastic. I think he looks decent enough, and he tries to make his gaze look sincere, but I always feel like there’s something wrong with him.”

Hearing this, Han Xiaorui breathed a sigh of relief. Her sister wasn’t some naive simpleton. ”Uncle Liu had Liu Sihai pass on a special message to me about Doctor Zhao...”

Han Xiaoqing was flabbergasted. ”How can someone be so disgusting? Isn’t that just being a scoundrel?”

”Exactly, he’s a scoundrel.” Han Xiaorui agreed, very pleased with her sister’s awareness. ”From now on, if Doctor Zhao talks to you, just ignore him if you can. If you’ve made your position clear and he still pesters you, tell Expert Wang. Don’t go anywhere secluded. Stay where you have your lessons, where there are a lot of people. It’s safer.”

Han Xiaoqing nodded, her expression serious. ”Sis, don’t worry. I know how to protect myself.”

”That’s good! If he doesn’t learn his lesson, I’ll definitely deal with him.” Han Xiaorui patted her sister’s hand. ”No, I’m not going out to sea tomorrow. I’ll go to the hospital and talk to Expert Wang.”

Han Xiaoqing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”Sis, if I can’t even handle something like this, I’ll have eaten all these years’ meals for nothing. Besides, I already had a bad feeling about that guy, Zhao. He just rubbed me the wrong way.”

”I’ve relied on my intuition to avoid a lot of trouble since I was a kid. I trust my gut feeling.”

Han Xiaorui was struck by her sister’s words. ”Xiao Jing, you’re right. If you don’t know the full story, or if you can’t control the situation and can’t make a rational judgment, then trust your intuition.”

”At the end of the day, humans are still animals. And as animals, we have an instinct for sensing danger. Trust your instincts, trust your feelings, and stay away from danger.”

Han Xiaoqing nodded. ”Mhm, exactly.”

Her sister was grown up. Since she felt she could handle it herself, Han Xiaorui decided to let her handle it first.

If she couldn’t, then she would step in.

After they finished eating, Liang Xiaoyu arrived with Cai Wenjun. ”Xiao Rui, I saw a few beehives in the Peach Garden before.”

”The peach blossoms have all withered now, and the rainy days are getting more frequent. We should harvest the honey.”

”Your family has a lot of canning jars. Let’s wash them, then boil them in water to sterilize them so we can use them for the honey.”

If Liang Xiaoyu hadn’t brought it up, Han Xiaorui would have almost forgotten about the honey.

”Okay!” Han Xiaorui smiled. ”Let’s do it now. Once we’ve collected the honey, we can use it to make some delicious treats.”

The two of them washed and boiled the canning jars, then placed them under the sun to bake and sterilize.

Han Xiaorui found an old mosquito net, cut it up, and put on a conical hat, leaving only her eyes exposed before entering the Peach Garden.

Han Xiaorui used her superpower to lure the bees away from the hive, allowing her and Liang Xiaoyu to quickly extract the honey.

Han Xiaorui still left a portion behind for the bees.

Even so, she collected over fifty pounds of honey.

’This stuff is fragrant and sweet, but you can’t eat it like a meal!’

It filled two entire basins to the brim.

It had an alluring amber color and a fragrant aroma that filled the air.

Peach blossom honey has very high nutritional and medicinal value.

It’s very beneficial for women. Drinking it regularly can improve one’s complexion.

Besides providing energy, it contains eight essential amino acids that the human body cannot synthesize, as well as twelve non-essential amino acids that the body can produce on its own.

These amino acids play an important role in maintaining human health and vital activities.

Furthermore, peach blossom honey is rich in various vitamins such as C, E, B1, and B2. These vitamins are crucial for the body’s antioxidant effects and for cell repair and regeneration.
