Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 1692: Otherworldly Dao

Fang Chen’s expression flickered. Extracting the Formation Heart?

In his view, the contract with a Formation Heart was equivalent to a form of complete fusion. It was not merely fused with the physical body, but also with the divine soul. It was precisely because of this that one could rely on the Formation Heart to condense an Immortal Boat Formation and perform Formation Immortal Arts. Once a Formation Heart had been fused, it was fundamentally difficult to take it from a person without a special method.

The first time he learned that a Formation Heart could be plundered was back in the Ancient Forbidden Zone, during the time Little Immortal Honglian contracted with one. At that time, a core disciple of the Enlightenment God Palace was quite unfortunate. He was murdered by a core of the Spirit God Sect, and his Formation Heart was snatched away.

Fang Chen inquired, ”Senior Sister, how can a Formation Heart be extracted?”

”There are many methods, but to extract a Formation Heart completely, there are only one or two ways,” explained Xie Aman with a smile. ”I intend to borrow the Formation Power from your bodies to suppress strength with strength.”

Extracting a Formation Heart completely?

Fang Chen realized why Xie Aman needed their help. The Formation Heart obtained by that Spirit God Sect Core back then was likely incomplete.

The Black Dragon Boat traveled at high speed. Soon, it flew away from the Enlightenment Star.

Nanming Ruyue showed a hint of astonishment. ”Senior Sister, the location of the Ten Thousand Heavenly Prison isn’t deep within the Divine Palace?”

Wang Ye, who had remained silent, was the one to answer. ”The Ten Thousand Heavenly Prison holds some special existences, so the location is somewhat remote.”

Everyone looked at one another.

A few days later, the Black Dragon Boat suddenly slowed down in the green void. Immediately after, Xie Aman performed a hand seal, and a massive gate abruptly appeared before everyone.

As the Black Dragon Boat flew through the gate, a blast of scorching heat rushed at them, sweeping over everyone like a rolling tide. The place felt like a volcano on the verge of erupting; the ceiling was red, and sparks fell from it from time to time.

Below was a rolling ocean of lava. Stone pillars stood within the sea of lava, and atop every pillar, a figure was imprisoned. They were bound head to toe by crimson iron chains. Most were motionless, maintaining the same posture as if they were dead.

The Black Dragon Boat hovered in mid-air, moving forward slowly.

Li Shanzi and the others scanned the surroundings, their gazes passing over each of those figures. Looking as far as the eye could see, the number of prisoners here far exceeded their imagination.

When did the Enlightenment God Palace imprison so many people? What’s their identities?

”Senior Sister, who are these people? Why are they imprisoned here?” Ji Sheng could not suppress the curiosity in his heart.

”They come from all sorts of backgrounds. Some are even cultivators from the Taicang Realm or the Shengwang Realm. Others are from the Taiyi Immortal Sect, the Wanxing Palace...”

Xie Aman smiled faintly. ”For our Enlightenment God Palace to have passed down its legacy to this day, we have made countless enemies. Some enemies are simply killed and they aren’t worth imprisoning. But some enemies need to be kept alive for a time, so they are thrown into the Ten Thousand Heavenly Prison. If not for such methods, how could you guys travel so peacefully in your daily lives?”

Everyone came to a realization. It turned out that most of those imprisoned here were cultivators who had been enemies of the Enlightenment God Palace.

Fang Chen suddenly said, ”Just now, Second Senior Brother mentioned some special existences. These cultivators... they don’t count as special existences, do they?”

Li Shanzi and the others exchanged glances and then turned their eyes toward Xie Aman.

”The special existences Old Second spoke of refer to things from outside the Three Realms,” answered Xie Aman.

She suddenly urged the Black Dragon Boat forward, arriving before a stone pillar in an instant. Imprisoned at the top of this pillar was a humanoid creature about ten feet tall, with iron-blue skin covering its entire body. Its gender was difficult to discern.

This humanoid creature seemed to sense something as it suddenly woke from its slumber and slowly stood up. The iron chains on its body collided, letting out a massive sound. The lava below also began to boil, churning restlessly.

It was only when the creature stood up that everyone discovered it had a third eye on its forehead. It stared fixedly at Xie Aman, making unintelligible sounds from its mouth that seemed to be another language.

A look of contemplation flashed in Fang Chen’s eyes. Xie Aman had just said they were from outside the Three Realms.

A look of solemnity appeared on Nanming Ruyue’s face. ”Senior Sister, you just said outside the Three Realms. Does that mean... It doesn’t belong to the Immortal Realm, the Underworld, or the Nine Mortal Realm?”

This humanoid creature looked terrifying, but its cultivation was actually not high, roughly equivalent to a first-transformation immortal. Forget being trapped in the Heavenly Prison. Even if encountered outside, she could easily deal with it.

”Correct. For now, those above refer to them as the Otherworldly Dao.” Xie Aman nodded. ”The implication is that their path is diametrically different from the one we walk.”

Curiosity appeared in the eyes of Li Shanzi and Ji Sheng.

”The Otherworldly Dao?”

This was their first time coming to the Ten Thousand Heavenly Prison, and also the first time they had heard of such a thing as an Otherworldly Dao.

Li Shanzi asked while sizing up the three-eyed creature, ”Senior Sister, this person’s cultivation is not high. Why must they be trapped here?”

Xie Aman smiled faintly. ”Don’t look at his low cultivation; he is completely different from us.”

Li Shanzi muttered, ”It is different. He has three eyes, but... some demon tribes also have three eyes, and some only have one leg,”

”I’m not talking about differences in appearance. In short, these Otherworldly Dao are just different from us. There is no need for you to understand right now, because for the time being, they pose no threat to us.”

After Xie Aman finished speaking, she steered the Black Dragon Boat toward the depths of the Heavenly Prison.

Seeing that, the three-eyed creature lay back down, closed its eyes, and returned to sleep.

Fang Chen withdrew his gaze, his heart becoming somewhat heavy.

The Otherworldly Dao Xie Aman spoke of was actually an existence like the demon race. Both were outsiders.

He hadn’t expected that the Enlightenment God Palace also imprisoned outsiders other than the demon race.

He just didn’t know how this outsider had come to the Nine Realms. With only the cultivation of a first transformation immortal, there was no reason it could have crossed such a vast distance.

Beyond the Nine Realms lay the Ancient Forbidden Zones. Beyond those was the boundless universe. The fact that Nanming Ruyue and the others had never seen it proved that its place of origin was extremely far from the Nine Realms. Otherwise, the two sides would have already made contact!

”Is it because of the differences Senior Sister mentioned? Do these outsiders have special abilities?”

Fang Chen glanced at Xie Aman, planning to find an opportunity to ask about this after leaving.

He wasn’t sure if Old Second and the others knew of the demon race’s existence. If he mentioned it in a transmission, it might involve the issue of cognition and trigger the intervention of forbidden arts.

Before long, the Black Dragon Boat slowed to a stop. Before them were hundreds of stone pillars, with a figure imprisoned on each one.

At the very front was Old Fourth. Upon seeing Xie Aman, he immediately let out a burst of loud laughter.

”Hahaha, Senior Sister has arrived!”

Old Sixth and Old Seventh appeared relatively indifferent, merely observing Fang Chen and the others with expressionless faces.
