Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 1638: That Seems to Be the Logic

A faint smile appeared on the Sixth Star Lord’s face. ”Sister Aman did go to Han Mountain Temple. You probably don’t know this, but within the Zhisheng Immortal Dynasty, she is considered top-tier among Evil Immortals. People call her Xie the Invincible.”

”I heard people mention that name back in the district. I was wondering then if it might be Eldest Senior Sister. Does this mean she has visited the Major Immortal Realm many times?”

The Sixth Star Lord laughed. ”There are many immortal herbs that can’t be found in the Nine Mortal Realms or even within the Minor Immortal Realms. Therefore, it’s not just her. Any core disciple from the Upper Three Realms with the ability to traverse the two worlds will make a trip to the Major Immortal Realm every now and then. ℴ

”Like me, they all have various identities in the Major Immortal Realm to protect themselves. In her early days, Sister Aman even managed to infiltrate the Great Compassion Army of the Zhisheng Immortal Dynasty.”

”I’ve heard that the Great Compassion Army and the Great Compassion Army are the two most powerful forces within the Zhisheng Immortal Dynasty,” said Fang Chen, surprised. ”The Great Compassion Army is stationed at the Imperial Capital, while the Great Compassion Army wanders the world.”

He hadn’t expected Xie A’man to have successfully infiltrated the Great Compassion Army. Given their special status, she must have been able to uncover many secrets of the dynasty, perhaps even identifying certain Fallen Immortals hiding behind the scenes.

”Correct. These two forces hold a transcendent status within the Zhisheng Immortal Dynasty, standing above all other internal factions.” The Sixth Star Lord nodded with a smile. ”According to the intelligence we currently possess, there are at least three ninth-transformation Fallen Immortals within the Great Compassion Army.”

Fang Chen’s expression turned solemn. If that were the case, the Great Compassion Army alone possessed a foundation of strength that far exceeded the Enlightenment God Palace. However, since the Fallen Immortals could not traverse between worlds, it meant the Major Immortal Realm didn’t possess a single Formation Heart. Consequently, they had no Immortal Boat Formations. If the Palace Master of Enlightenment were to deploy an Immortal Boat Formation and use the Nine Mortal Realms as a battlefield, taking on three ninth-transformation Fallen Immortals at once shouldn’t be too difficult.

”The main reason Sister Aman went to Han Mountain Temple this time is that she suspects Shao Guangyin actually originated from there. Ever since Shao Guangyin laid that ambush for her last time, she has been investigating the matter. She contacted some close friends in the Minor Immortal Realms and eventually found some clues regarding Shao Guangyin’s origins.”

Fang Chen’s expression shifted. ”Shao Guangyin came out of Han Mountain Temple? Does that mean you believe some people in the Major Immortal Realm could cross between realms?”

”The Major Immortal Realm has no ability to cross between realms, and it’s impossible for a loophole to exist at the Blood Gate Border,” said the Sixth Star Lord with absolute certainty. ”It’s more likely that someone from the Minor Immortal Realm is secretly smuggling them across.”

”It’s difficult for one person to pull this off alone. After all, returning from here to the Blood Gate Border requires undergoing an extremely rigorous investigation. Therefore, we suspect that among those stationed at the Blood Gate Border, some people are working in collusion from both the inside and outside.”

He paused, then gave a cold smile. ”Actually, it’s not a massive problem. It’s impossible for everyone to be in league with them, so every time they try to smuggle someone across, they can’t send many people through. Once we uncover the results of this investigation and carry out a proper purge, such incidents can be put to an end.”

Fang Chen looked at the Sixth Star Lord. ”Do you believe this is the work of Fallen Immortals? That Shao Guangyin might be a Fallen Immortal?”

He knew Shao Guangyin wasn’t a Fallen Immortal, but a member of the demon race. However, currently, the two were remarkably similar, essentially originating from the same source. If the events in the Taicang Realm had caused the Fangcun and Shenwang Realm to become alert, there was a high chance they were being misled into thinking it was a plot by Fallen Immortals.

If that were the case, the vast majority of the strength in the Fangcun and Shenwang Realm would be wasted on the Fallen Immortals, allowing the demon race, the true masterminds, to be overlooked.

The Sixth Star Lord mused, ”We... can’t be certain. Based on the information I’ve gathered, besides the Fallen Immortals, there should be another possibility. It’s just that even thinking about it feels a bit inconceivable. After all, so many years have passed; they should have been completely wiped out long ago.”

”I’m all ears,” said Fang Chen, cupping his hands.

A look of hesitation crossed the Sixth Star Lord’s face. ”You haven’t officially become a Xie Zhi member yet. I really shouldn’t be telling you these things...”

”It’s fine. I’ll be joining Xie Zhi very soon. Eldest Senior Sister said that Fifth Senior Brother and I would be the only two candidates. You’re already a Xie Zhi member, aren’t you? That means we’ll be colleagues in the future. Knowing this information early is a good thing for me,” said Fang Chen.

”Well... that seems quite logical.” The Sixth Star Lord gave an embarrassed smile. ”Actually, during the Great Chaos of the Three Realms in the past, an alien race participated in that turmoil. Or rather, they were the ones who orchestrated it. To this day, we don’t know where this alien race resides, nor can we find any information related to them. We only know their methods were extraordinary, and they stopped at nothing to plunge the Three Realms into chaos.

”Although that chaos was eventually suppressed and that alien race was supposedly wiped out completely, the aftermath they left behind was already riddled with holes. Fallen Immortals, demons, and demon beasts appeared in the Major Immortal Realm. The Underworld was split in two, and ancient inheritances were left shattered or severed. Even—”

The Sixth Star Lord seemed to recall something.

A look of expectation appeared on Fang Chen’s face. ”Even what?”

If the Sixth Star Lord could break through his own cognition veil, Fang Chen would have one more ally.

”Nothing.” The Sixth Star Lord smiled. ”Back then, this alien race called themselves the demon race. In the process of clashing with our ancestors, they fell one by one. Countless years have passed since then, and no one has heard even a trace of them, until recently, when some elders witnessed certain Anomalies appearing, claiming that the demon race is currently invading the Taicang Realm.”

As expected, it was the old man and the rest who had disseminated the message.

Fang Chen felt a sense of relief. As long as these super-first-class powers weren’t misled by the demons into wasting their strength fighting Fallen Immortals, there was still hope.

”However, we cannot be certain of the truth of this news. You know... the Anomalies all have certain issues here,” the Sixth Star Lord pointed to his head with a bitter smile. ”Quite a few seniors believe this is utter nonsense. They feel the current oddities originate from the Fallen Immortals and that they are the ones stirring up trouble in the shadows to gain total control over the Three Realms.”

Fang Chen sighed inwardly with helplessness. The Yang Gods had used taboo arts to forcibly suppress the demon race’s methods, ensuring their reincarnated souls couldn’t easily awaken their past memories. This had resulted in side effects similar to senility and dementia, which the outside world misinterpreted as them being mentally unstable.

Fang Chen asked, ”What is your view on this? Is it the Fallen Immortals? Or the demon race that once threw the Three Realms into chaos?”

”I lean toward the former. After all, the latter has been extinct for years. If they truly reappeared in the world, it’s unlikely there wouldn’t be a single shred of evidence,” replied the Sixth Star Lord earnestly.

Of course, there’s no evidence, Fang Chen thought. These demons are currently no different from humans. The only discrepancy lay within their souls.

After chatting a while longer, the Sixth Star Lord took his leave. With a flick of his mind, a figure appeared beside Fang Chen. It was Fang Renjian.

They were still within the territory of Han Mountain Temple, not far from the district. He planned to have his avatar make a trip. First, for immortal crystals, and second, to observe the movements of the Great Compassion Army.
