Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 1623: Leave An Arm Behind

After a long silence, Shao Guangyin smiled and said, ”In any case, this matter has absolutely nothing to do with our monastery. Since sparring is not possible today, we shall do so another day,” said Shao Guangyin.

He cupped his hands toward Young Lady Shi. ”Young Lady Shi, I shall take my leave first.”

”Leave? Do you think it’s that easy?” Xie Aman suddenly let out a laugh and crooked her finger at him. ”Didn’t you want to spar? I’ll accompany you. Come.”

She tore through the air and shot straight into the clouds.

Shao Guangyin pondered briefly, then smiled and followed.

The two flew far away, for the aftermath of a battle between eighth-transformation Ancient Immortals was far too terrifying. Even sixth-transformation immortals would find it hard to endure the shockwaves. Thus, the crowd could only vaguely sense that the battle was extremely fierce, but they could not see the details.

Young Lady Shi of the True King Clan shifted her gaze to the seventh-transformation Corpse Transcending Immortal and said coldly, ”Feng Si, do you have anything to say? A dignified seventh-transformation Ancient Immortal, yet you accompany Shao Guangyin in madness?”

Feng Si, whose expression had remained indifferent throughout the exchange, smiled faintly. ”I have some friendship with the Honored One. He asked me to help weigh the abilities of the Enlightenment God Palace’s core disciples. It was hard to refuse.”

”Just helping?” Chen Enxue sneered. ”I think you and Shao Guangyin are birds of a feather. Sooner or later, we will find out what you’re plotting.”

She then turned to Young Lady Shi. ”Senior Sister Shi, these people must also be punished.”

Young Lady Shi nodded. ”The True King Clan will give you an explanation.”

Chen Enxue chuckled. ”Many thanks, Senior Sister Shi.”

She then looked at Ji Sheng and said, ”Tenth Brother, you had a traitor by your side all along and didn’t notice? A core disciple of the Enlightenment God Palace, a member of the expedition team, colluding with Rulai Monastery and plotting against our core disciples... how should he be dealt with?”

”Third Senior Sister, he should be executed!” answered Ji Sheng without hesitation, casting an icy gaze at Ji Tianjun. ”Cousin, you made a grave mistake this time. You once had limitless prospects, but you destroyed them yourself. Do not blame me, nor the Enlightenment God Palace.”

”The victor is king, the loser is bandit. At most, it’s death. It’s nothing.” Ji Tianjun grinned. ”But one day, you will understand the painstaking efforts of our generation. When that time comes, you will not see me as you do today.”

Painstaking efforts?

Everyone thought he was merely being stubborn at death’s door.

”Where did you obtain that History Immortal Book?” Chen Enxue suddenly asked. ”The Ji Family could not possibly have such a thing. Even in the Lesser Immortal Realm, it is rare.”

Young Lady Shi nodded. ”Indeed. History Immortal Book... I haven’t heard those three words in many years. To use such an item to harm someone is extravagant. If sold to the True King Clan, it could perhaps be exchanged for one or two immortal herbs.”

Ji Tianjun glanced at Fang Chen. ”I obtained it from the Greater Immortal Realm. Core Disciple Fang is no simple character. If you want to kill him silently, only something like this could truly do it. Unfortunately, he was too suspicious and resisted the urge to open it.”

Ji Sheng was enraged. ”You still dare to say such things!? How did Core Disciple Fang offend you?”

He was trying to sow enmity!

”Tenth Brother, don’t be angry. He seems to enjoy seeing you like this. Besides, it didn’t harm me. Instead, I gained a treasure for free.” Fang Chen smiled.

Ji Sheng sighed. ”Core Disciple Fang, this mistake lies with me. I misjudged him.”

Young Lady Shi suddenly looked at Fang Chen and asked, ”Would you be willing to sell the History Immortal Book to me?”

”Senior Sister Shi, this item is rather mysterious. I still intend to study it carefully,” Fang Chen politely declined.

Young Lady Shi nodded. ”Very well. I shall not take what someone else treasures.”

***

About half an hour later, the sky started raining blood. The rain shimmered with a faint golden glow.

Only seventh-transformation Ancient Immortals who had forged a Golden Body would have blood tinged with pale gold. This meant either Xie Aman or Shao Guangyin had been injured.

A few breaths later, Xie Aman returned to the Black Dragon Boat, carrying an arm in her hand, smiling at the crowd. ”Shao Guangyin fled. He left behind his right arm. Consider it an explanation for today’s events.”

Everyone was stunned. Even Young Lady Shi showed a hint of surprise and looked more closely at the severed arm.

”When an Ancient Immortal loses an arm, their Golden Body becomes incomplete. An incomplete Golden Body no longer has a perfect foundation. Shao Guangyin’s strength won’t be recovering anytime soon,” Nanming Ruyue murmured. ”Eldest Senior Sister is getting more and more formidable. Back at Great Thunder Sound, she only fought him to a draw. Today she tore off one of his arms.”

Li Shanzi was shaken.

”Shao Guangyin has lost an arm, which makes his Golden Body now incomplete. I imagine this lesson should satisfy the Enlightenment God Palace,” said Young Lady Shi, smiling. ”Xie Aman, Chen Enxue, if there is nothing else, you should leave the Little Immortal Realm soon.”

”Since we’re already here, we might as well take a trip to the Greater Immortal Realm.” Xie Aman laughed. ”Senior Sister Shi, if you have no other matters, why not travel with us? With two eighth-transformation Immortals together, it would be hard to encounter real danger.”

The crowd brightened up instantly. If Chen Enxue were the one leading them to the Great Immortal Realm, they would be reluctant. But Xie Aman was different. Her strength was formidable. As long as they did not encounter a ninth-transformation Immortal, no danger would be insurmountable. If Young Lady Shi joined them, it would be even safer.

Young Lady Shi shook her head. ”The Land of Fallen Ones is best avoided. I advise you not to tread there often. If you encounter a Fallen Immortal, it will not be easy to escape.”

Clearly, she was unwilling to join.

She then glanced at Feng Si and the other Corpse Transcending Immortals. ”You all will accompany me to the True King Clan and personally explain this matter.”

The Corpse Transcending Immortals showed no resistance and obediently followed her away.

After they left, the Sixth Star Lord also bid farewell.

Chen Enxue waved with a smile. ”Sixth Brother, see you next time.”

The Sixth Star Lord waved back before disappearing into white light.

Chen Enxue returned to the Black Dragon Boat and stretched lazily. ”I ran around so many places while you had it easy.”

”Easy?” Xie Aman sneered. ”Without me, would Shao Guangyin have left an arm behind?”

”Boss, when I become an eight-transformation Ancient Immortal, I’ll be able to tear off his arm too.” Chen Enxue said matter-of-factly. ”You’re stronger now, so naturally the capable should bear more.”

One core disciple smiled wryly. ”Senior Sisters, are we really done with everything? If there are any more schemes, could you tell us? At least we’d be mentally prepared.”

Xie Aman smiled. ”Yes, there’s nothing major left. Now that Shao Guangyin has lost one of his arms, he likely won’t stir up trouble for a long time. However, there is one thing I must announce. Based on news from the Lower Six Realms, as well as some clues I have obtained, Rulai Monastery is indeed plotting something. And many are involved, perhaps not only from the Fangcun Realm. Therefore, I intend to establish a team named Xie Zhi. Their mission will be to investigate this matter. If necessary, we may make an exception and bring the Immortal Boat Formation to the Lower Six Realms.”

Fang Chen was taken aback. Xie Zhi?

He was both amused and helpless. Yet he was pleased that Xie Aman was treating the matter with seriousness. At last, they had a solid foundation.
