Three members of the Silver Moon Squad launched a desperate suicide attack on Rigel.

Even in their normal state, they were already quite powerful.

On top of that, they were currently enhanced by the national treasure *”Mad Moon Drug.”*

It was truly a suicidal all-out strike — one where they had thrown their lives away.

”Ridiculous…! Why would you do something like that…!!”

Princess Natasha’s eyes widened in shock.

The Silver Moon Squad were her direct subordinates. They had been together since she was a child — through painful times and happy times alike. They had fought and hurt each other at times, but they were still precious comrades to her.

And yet…

”Princess Natasha…! Please forgive our arbitrary actions…!!”

”However, this is the only thing we can do…! For the sake of our 20,000 fallen comrades…!!”

”We must make this man understand! The sorrow that the people carry…! This man… must feel our…!!”

”””Pain!!!”””

The three members of the Silver Moon Squad shouted as they swung their weapons and charged at Rigel.

Their full-power attacks were—

effortlessly dodged.

”Fufu… Well, well. So this is one of those hot-blooded moments, huh? ’For the sake of our country’ and all that?”

Rigel stood atop a high platform he had created with his earth magic, looking down at them with a relaxed expression. He had completely seen through the movements of the three Silver Moon Squad members.

In the first place, Rigel’s strength was overwhelming. No matter how desperately they fought while risking their lives, defeating him was simply impossible.

”Using a secret drug that burns away your life force, huh… I don’t think that’s a very smart move…”

Rigel muttered with a sigh.

It was true that doping for a temporary power boost was powerful.

However, the side effects were devastating.

”Life is something you should treasure. You only get one, after all. …Well, I guess it’s already too late for that.”

Rigel looked at the girls of the Silver Moon Squad with something resembling pity in his eyes.

The three of them couldn’t even reach Rigel, who stood high above them.

”Haa… haa…! Y-you coward! Come down here!!”

”Hahaha… That’s a pretty unreasonable request. If you’re that frustrated, why don’t you climb up here yourself? Though you’ll probably self-destruct before you even make it.”

”Guh…! Gah!!”

The three members of the Silver Moon Squad coughed up blood and dropped to their knees.

Rigel hadn’t even attacked them yet.

It seemed the excessive doping had already pushed them past their limits.

”Dying like dogs, huh. How pathetic. I can respect your loyalty, but you should’ve thought a little more before acting.”

Rigel let out a small sigh.

He looked down at the three with cold, emotionless eyes.

”Lady Natasha… We were not strong enough… Please forgive us…!”

”Please… may fortune be with you…!”

”Princess… Thank you… for all the memories…”

After leaving their final words for Princess Natasha, the three quietly closed their eyes.

And then, they stopped moving entirely.

”…They’re dead, huh. Haha, even if they were called the elite, that was pretty pathetic.”

”...”

Princess Natasha remained silent, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood.

What Rigel said was true.

Their deaths had accomplished nothing.

But even so…

”…I will never forgive you! How dare you do that to my precious subordinates!!”

”Hey now, isn’t that just misplaced anger? I didn’t do anything.”

”Shut up!! I will never forgive you, of all people!!!”

Princess Natasha glared at Rigel with pure rage on her face. Fighting spirit poured out from her entire body — her will to fight showed no signs of weakening.

”Heh, still got some fight left in you? Not bad in terms of spirit… but do you really think you can beat me?”

”I’ll do it…! I’ll defeat you all by myself!!”

”Hmm. Then go ahead and try.”

Rigel smirked.

He then fired an earth bullet toward Princess Natasha.

”Hmph!!”

With a single swing of her spear, Natasha knocked the earth bullet away.

While the Silver Moon Squad had been fighting, she had been carefully observing Rigel the entire time. Although there hadn’t been any real exchanges that could be called a proper fight, she had still managed to grasp a rough estimate of his strength.

*(This guy is strong…! But it’s not like I have no chance at all…!)*

Natasha calmly analyzed the situation.

She was probably no match for him in pure ability.

However, if she could exploit a single opening…

”Pierce through—[God-Slaying Spear]!”

Natasha unleashed a thrust filled with magical power.

It grazed Rigel’s cheek, but failed to deal any significant damage.

”Tch! Not bad movements at all.”

”Kuh…!”

Both of them were impressed by the other’s ability.

Rigel, because his cheek had actually been grazed.

Natasha, because even her full-power thrust had only managed to graze him.

”Then how about this?”

”…!?”

Rigel gathered magical power into both hands.

A massive boulder appeared above Natasha’s head.

”Get crushed…! [Meteor Fall]!!”

”Kuh…! Haaaaah!!”

The giant rock created by Rigel came crashing down, attempting to crush Natasha.

She instantly swung her spear and shattered it, but still took damage from the fragments.

”Guh…!”

Blood flowed from all over her body, yet Natasha somehow managed to stand back up.

”Haa… haa…!”

”Hmm… As expected of the First Princess. You’ve got quite a sturdy body.”

”...”

”But I wonder how long you can keep this up?”

Rigel smiled with amusement as he gathered magical power once again.

He then began unleashing a relentless barrage of merciless attacks.

---

The suicide attack by the Silver Moon Squad — the elite of the Valestain Kingdom — had no effect on Rigel.

Next, Princess Natasha, trembling with rage, challenged him herself, but—

”Gah…!!”

Natasha was struck by one of Rigel’s blows and sent flying.

How many times had this happened now?

Not a single one of Natasha’s attacks had reached Rigel.

”Haha… You’re trying a little harder now, but it’s all pointless.”

”Kuh… damn it…! Not yet! [God-Slaying—]”

”I won’t let you.”

”Auh…!”

Rigel kicked Natasha hard in the stomach.

She vomited blood and collapsed powerlessly to the ground.

”Being weak really is a sin… The weak are destined to be exploited by the strong.”

”…!”

Natasha ground her teeth at Rigel’s words.

Just as he said, she was weak.

The one who had driven the Silver Moon Squad to their deaths was none other than her own weakness.

”Frustrating, isn’t it? But that’s reality. The world works that way. No matter how much you struggle, the strong will always win in the end.”

”......”

Natasha hung her head and fell silent.

Rigel continued speaking, as if delivering a finishing blow.

”Princess Natasha. Because of your weakness, the Silver Moon Squad was completely wiped out. …No, that’s not quite right. This all happened because your father is so incompetent. Just how many of your own citizens do you think have died because of you royals?”

”Wha… what…!?”

Natasha’s eyes widened at Rigel’s accusation.

She glared at him, but her eyes were clearly filled with agitation.

”You royals are the cancer of this country. If only you didn’t exist, this nation would have moved in a much better direction. I mourn for this country. I cannot simply sit by and watch it continue to rot like this.”

What a self-serving argument.

After all, it was Rigel who had invaded, putting the Valestain Kingdom on the brink of destruction.

Moreover, Rigel was a noble from another country.

If he had at least been a citizen of Valestain, he could have fabricated the excuse of ”starting a revolution out of concern for the motherland,” but…

”What are you… even saying…?”

”That’s why you all need to disappear. So you don’t get in my way.”

”…Don’t fuck with me! What do you plan to do after destroying this country!!”

”I’m going to smash this country to pieces. That way, a new era can begin.”

”!?”

Natasha was rendered speechless by Rigel’s shocking declaration.

He was serious.

He truly intended to destroy the kingdom.
