Princess Norn and the female knights had started gossiping about romance.

And of all places, right in front of Rigel, who was disguised as a statue.

What’s more, the conversation was only getting more heated.

(Khh…! Are these idiots serious? Weren’t you supposed to be escaping through the secret passage because of the war!?)

Rigel desperately fought the urge to shout. If he made a sound now, they would definitely notice him.

Eventually, their conversation reached its climax.

”And then, you know~? The male knight said to her, ’One day, please have my child!’”

”Kyaa!? How passionate~!”

The junior knight let out an excited squeal at Princess Norn’s story. Meanwhile, the senior knight had already covered her face with both hands.

”So! Did that male knight get engaged to Senior?”

”Who knows~? You’d have to ask the person herself about that~”

At the junior knight’s question, Princess Norn smiled mischievously. Both of them turned to look at the senior knight in question.

”U-Uuuuu…”

The senior knight was trembling with teary eyes. Her current appearance was as fragile as a small animal — completely unlike her usual dignified knightly self.

”Senior, come on, tell us already! Are you engaged or not!?”

”That’s right~! Now that we’ve come this far, you have to tell us everything~! It’s a royal order~!”

Faced with the two women’s relentless questioning, the senior knight finally gave in and quietly spoke.

”…He and I… have promised to be together.”

”Waaah! Congratulations! You have to invite us to the wedding! Absolutely!!”

”I want to celebrate too~! I’ll definitely attend~!”

The junior knight and Princess Norn cheered happily.

”…Though that’s only if we both survive this war…”

””Ah...””

The mood suddenly turned somber. All three of them were citizens of this country. No one knew when they might lose their lives. Escaping Tosh had originally been for that very reason.

Their cheerful romance talk had been, in part, a form of escapism from reality. Once dragged back to reality, the three fell silent for a moment.

Princess Norn was the one who broke the silence.

”It’ll be fine! Natasha’s spear skills are incredible! And I’m sure Nina will find a chance to escape from captivity~!”

There was no real basis for her words, and they offered little comfort. Still, they seemed to lighten the hearts of the other two, if only a little.

”…You’re right. Natasha is indeed very strong, and Nina isn’t the type to stay quiet and accept her fate.”

”Above all, we have Princess Norn with us. With your taming skills, you won’t stop at earth dragons — you’ll eventually be able to tame wyverns as well. When that time comes, we’ll deliver a crushing blow to that lowly Goussel Marquis family!”

The junior knight agreed with the senior knight’s words. Hearing this, Princess Norn’s face lit up with a bright smile.

”Thank you~! I will fight in my own way, different from Father and my sisters~!”

Seeing her smile, the two knights thought to themselves:

*Ah, she really is a princess after all.*

Meanwhile, Rigel, who was watching the entire exchange, nearly burst out laughing.

(What the hell is this…!? Seriously, what is going on!?)

He never imagined he would end up listening to the enemy princess and her knights gossiping about romance. At the same time, he thought:

(You idiots… The one standing right in front of you is Rigel von Goussel, the mastermind of this war! There’s even the traitor Amand right here… Why the hell are you all so carefree!?)

It was perfectly understandable for him to think that. However, from the women’s perspective, he was nothing more than a strange statue. None of them had seen Rigel on the battlefield, so none of them could imagine that the culprit behind the war was standing right there.

(Pfft! This is hilarious…! Heh heh heh…)

Rigel couldn’t help but smile. He was genuinely enjoying this absurd situation.

The princess and knights were living seriously. Yet objectively, they had fallen into an incredibly foolish predicament — chatting about romance right in front of their mortal enemy.

The gap was so ridiculous that Rigel found it strangely entertaining.

However, that moment of leisure was short-lived.

(Ah… Shit!!)

Rigel felt a powerful surge of stimulation in his groin. Amand’s vagina was contracting hard. It was a surprise attack on Rigel, who had been indulging in dark pleasure while watching Norn and the others.

(Ugh!? Uuuu…!)

Rigel clenched his teeth and endured. He somehow managed to hold back his ejaculation. If he had cum at that moment, he might have sprayed semen right in front of them. That was something he absolutely wanted to avoid.

(Fuu… That was close…)

Just as Rigel breathed a sigh of relief, an even greater ordeal awaited him.

---

Rigel continued to endure while disguised as a statue.

In front of him, Princess Norn and the female knights kept chatting away.

Seeing them completely unaware that the mastermind of the war was standing right there, Rigel couldn’t help but feel a dark sense of pleasure. He had nearly cum earlier, but somehow managed to hold it back.

(Khh… I almost came, but I’m still okay…)

However, he knew he couldn’t endure forever. He needed to do something to change the situation — but realistically, there was nothing he could do.

After all, he was currently pretending to be an unmoving statue. If he canceled the earth magic **[Plating・Up]**, he would be able to move again, but that would also reveal his true identity to Norn and the others. That would defeat the whole purpose.

”Fufu~ Well then, shall we get going soon~? It’s a shame to leave this statue behind though~”

”Yes, Princess. …Still, this statue is quite the mystery. It’s very lewd, yet incredibly well-made… And why would it be placed inside this secret passage…?”

The junior knight responded to Norn’s comment.

”Hmm… Could it perhaps be one of His Majesty the King’s personal belongings? If it’s a statue of this quality, he probably didn’t want it to be destroyed in the war.”

”Eeeeh~!? You mean our strict Father owns something this perverted~!?”

Hearing the senior knight’s speculation, Princess Norn let out a surprised voice.

”It’s only a possibility. But I don’t think it’s zero. After all, only a very limited number of people even know about this secret passage.”

”I see…! But wouldn’t quite a few people know about the secret passage? The royal family, plus a few of their closest subordinates?”

”Yes. Probably the Prime Minister and the Supreme Commander as well. I doubt border squad captains or regular mages would know about it.”

The senior and junior knights continued their discussion.
