My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree

Chapter 148: Chapter 91: Zombie Horde

Immediately after, a tall, imposing figure slowly sat up from within the coffin!

It was clad in tattered ancient armor. Its exposed skin was a deathly grayish-blue, its muscles were knotted and bulging, and its fangs jutted out.

Most frightening of all, two points of crimson, blood-red light suddenly flared to life in its empty eye sockets.

A terrifying pressure spread out as if it were a physical substance, and the very air seemed to freeze.

The tomb-guarding Corpse General had fully awakened!

”ROAR!”

It let out another ferocious roar. The shockwave of the sound caused some of the porcelain burial goods in the main chamber to shatter.

The Corpse General’s blood-red gaze swept rapidly across the main chamber—

It passed over the scattered remains of Wangwu Mountain’s master, then over the golden Corpse Fire that was shrinking at a visible rate...

Finally, its gaze locked firmly onto the spot in the air where the Mosquito Avatar was hovering!

The Mosquito Avatar was optically invisible, but this Corpse General’s senses were unnervingly sharp!

It had detected the nearly inaudible heartbeat and the faint air currents stirred by the high-speed vibration of its wings...

It seemed to understand instantly: an invisible insect was stealing its master’s power!

”ROAR!”

A low, guttural roar, filled with endless fury and killing intent, rumbled from its throat.

Its massive body shot up from the coffin, stirring a foul wind as its giant palm swatted viciously at the tiny Mosquito Avatar in the air!

The furious strike of a Fifth-Grade zombie was as fast as lightning, its power earth-shattering!

Before the palm even arrived, the terrifying pressure made Lin Yi feel as if the air around his Mosquito Avatar had solidified into steel plates!

In the nick of time!

The Mosquito Avatar finished absorbing the last wisp of the Corpse Fire’s Spiritual Essence!

’Escape!’

’Faster, escape!’

Lin Yi didn’t hesitate.

The Mosquito Avatar instantly activated its trump card, a life-saving ability.

Flight Overdrive!

VMMMM!

The Qi and Blood within the avatar’s body drained away like water from an open floodgate. Its tiny form erupted with astonishing speed, transforming into a streak of light that broke the sound barrier!

Thanks to its tiny size and the terrifying maneuverability granted by the overdrive, it narrowly scraped past the lethal gust of wind generated by the edge of the Corpse General’s giant palm in the space of a millisecond!

It was like dancing on the edge of a blade; a hair’s breadth from being pulverized!

’That was close! A Fifth-Grade zombie is no joke! If that palm had connected, my avatar would’ve been turned into a pile of mush in an instant!’

Lin Yi broke out in a cold sweat.

The Flight Overdrive state consumed an enormous amount of Qi and Blood. With the Mosquito Avatar’s current reserves, it could only last for five minutes at most!

This was a true race against death!

He pushed the avatar’s speed to its absolute limit, sending it fleeing madly along the path it had come, like an arrow loosed from its bow.

As it flew near the side chamber of the burial area, the shockwave from the Corpse General’s furious, imposing roar washed over the area.

”ROAR!” ”AWOO!” ”HRNGH!”

It was as if a chain reaction had been set off.

Among the hundreds of densely packed coffins in the side chamber, more than twenty lids simultaneously blew off!

Over twenty zombies of various forms, reeking of decay and a chilling aura, shrieked as they clawed their way out of their coffins!

The entire side chamber instantly transformed into a terrifying Hell where demons danced in a frenzy.

Piercing roars rose and fell, shaking dust from the ceiling.

Fortunately, these zombies were not of a high grade—most were only Second or Third Grade. Their intellect was mired in Chaos, and their awareness of their surroundings was far less keen than the Corpse General’s. In the ensuing pandemonium, they failed to notice the high-speed, invisible Mosquito Avatar.

Suppressing the pounding in his heart, Lin Yi maneuvered the Mosquito Avatar, flitting like a butterfly through the gaps between the rampaging zombies.

The objective was clear—

make a beeline for the tiny hole he had secretly made when he first entered the ancient tomb!

Just then, the Corpse General’s massive, terrifying figure descended upon the entrance to the side chamber like a Demon God!

”ROAR!”

It was a roar full of authority.

The twenty-odd Low-tier zombies, which had been shrieking in a chaotic frenzy, instantly fell silent as if their throats had been seized. The chaotic scene quieted in an instant.

Under the sweep of the Corpse General’s crimson gaze and driven by its formless pressure, the horde of zombies acted as if they had been given a command. They immediately turned, roaring as they followed behind the Corpse General, forming a chilling tide of corpses that gave chase in the direction of the fleeing Mosquito Avatar!

Along the way,

the ancient traps within the tomb, which had lain dormant for countless years, were mercilessly triggered by the rampaging zombies.

BOOM!

A quicksand trap collapsed, pouring out a torrent of yellow sand.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Poison-tipped arrows shot out from holes in the walls like a rainstorm.

CRACK!

A trapdoor was sprung...

The tomb’s interior was instantly thrown into chaos, filled with swirling dust, flying poison arrows, and flowing sand.

These traps might have been fatal to ordinary tomb raiders, but to the zombies with their tough hides and tenacious Life Force, they inflicted only superficial wounds, which served only to further enrage them.

However, these obstacles did manage to slightly impede the pursuit of the zombie horde.

They also created considerable trouble for the tiny Mosquito Avatar, which had to nimbly dodge the flowing sand and stray arrows.

’There it is! This is the spot!’

Seeing the familiar tiny hole at last, Lin Yi’s Spirit surged!

Without hesitation, the Mosquito Avatar turned into a faint glimmer of light and, with a WHOOSH, dove into it, speeding upwards through the narrow, winding passage.

The very instant the Mosquito Avatar shot out of the hole and saw the light of day once more—

BOOM!!!

An incredibly deep, muffled explosion, so powerful it seemed to make the very earth tremble, erupted from behind!

It was accompanied by the grating sound of rock shattering!
