My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree

Chapter 118: Chapter 82: Nuke Warehoused

The steel treads rolled mercilessly over scorched earth and wreckage, producing a sickening, grinding crunch.

The Martial Artists, like agile cheetahs, wove through the gaps in the tank formations, using the terrain to advance rapidly as they warily searched for any signs of resistance.

Their advance was not entirely unopposed.

Scattered Pigman units—some lucky enough to have been far from the initial blast, others patrolling deep within the Star Realm who rushed over at the news—attempted to launch a counter-attack.

However,

before the tide of steel, their charge was utterly futile!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The tanks’ main cannons roared, their high-explosive shells landing with precision amidst the Pigmen and instantly tearing the charging formations to shreds.

Any who managed to get close were either riddled with holes by the storm of metal from the coaxial machine guns or mercilessly crushed into the blackened earth by the heavy treads!

The Martial Artists advanced as if through uncontested territory, flashes of their blades cutting down any stragglers who slipped through the barrage.

They swept through everything in their path, completely unstoppable!

In just two hours!

This expeditionary force, forged from steel, will, and the fires of vengeance, had reached the enemy’s doorstep.

They had fought their way to the massive Star Gate that connected to the Pigman world!

By now,

in front of the Star Gate,

all Pigmen who had attempted to resist or flee had been utterly purged, their bodies littering the ground.

The massive Star Gate itself had now fallen into a deathly silence.

Clearly, the Pigman world had already received the terrible news: their main force was annihilated, and their position had been lost.

Not a single Pigman dared to step out from the gate.

”This battle—is a great victory!”

Zhang Rui stood tall on the roof of a tank. Gazing at the victorious Star Gate before him and the scorched battlefield below, he channeled all his Qi and Blood and let out a roar that shook the heavens!

”A great victory!”

”A great victory!!”

”Victory to Yang City!!”

All the battle-worn Martial Artists, tank crews, and rocket artillerymen erupted in a thunderous, tsunami-like roar of celebration!

The joy of victory and the sweet satisfaction of revenge washed over every soul, their cheers echoing throughout the desolate Star Realm!

...

「In front of the Yang City Star Gate.」

News of the victory arrived quickly.

The Martial Artists of Second Grade and above, who had been unable to enter the Star Gate, all erupted in cheers.

”We won!”

”A resounding victory!”

The crowd was filled with joyous laughter.

Governor Yang, however, was not swept up in the euphoria of victory.

He knew full well that these new Star Gates currently only permitted First Grade lifeforms to pass through. The Pigman world on the other side was bound to have far more powerful beings.

With Yang City’s current strength, charging recklessly into the enemy’s home world would be suicide.

Now that they had successfully captured and secured this vital interdimensional space, the strategic objective was achieved!

Amidst the tide of joyous celebration, Major General Xie strode over to Governor Yang and spoke with a grave expression.

”Governor Yang, I’ve just received a top-priority directive from the Nanjiang Military District. My unit will be stationed in Yang City long-term to help defend this domain.”

”Regarding the defense of this interdimensional space, the Military District recommends we immediately initiate the ’Triple Bulwark’ plan!”

He slowly laid out the Military District’s plan:

”The First Layer, our absolute front line, will be established right outside the Star Gate that leads to the Pigman world! We’ll construct permanent steel fortresses, minefields, and rocket launch sites. We’ll garrison it heavily and ensure not a single Pigman ever sets foot outside that gate again! My Nanjiang Military District’s main force will take on this tough assignment!”

”The Second Layer will be established within this interdimensional space, just outside the Star Gate connecting back to our Blue Star! We will construct a defense-in-depth, serving as a buffer and fallback position. This will require building permanent fortifications, troop garrisons, and fire support points based on the terrain. For this, Governor Yang, we’ll need to rely on you to mobilize the forces of Yang City!”

”The Third Layer will be on Blue Star itself, outside our own Yang City Star Gate! We will need to establish fortified defensive positions and a rapid reaction force there as well, to make it absolutely foolproof! This final link, Governor, will also fall to you!”

Major General Xie’s tone was solemn as he continued:

”Furthermore, our most urgent task is for you, Governor, to recruit the most elite engineering corps as quickly as possible. They must bring heavy machinery and specialized building materials into this realm and turn these three layers of defenses from blueprints into reality at top speed! Time is our lifeline!”

Governor Yang reached out and firmly gripped Major General Xie’s hand, his sharp eyes filled with gratitude and resolve.

”Thank you, Major General Xie! The people of Yang City will not forget this!”

A rugged, soldierly smile spread across Major General Xie’s face as he returned the firm handshake.

”You’re too kind, Governor Yang! Protecting the safety of the hundreds of millions of citizens in Nanjiang Province is the fundamental duty of the Nanjiang Military District! There’s no need for thanks. From this day forward, we fight side by side to hold the Yang City line!”

The two commanders’ hands remained tightly clasped.

Their gazes turned in unison toward the distant Star Gate, a symbol of the unknown threats to come.

A new era had begun.

...

The counter-offensive was over.

Aside from the tank and rocket corps, who remained in formation to lock down the Star Gate to the Pigman world, the other Martial Artists from the Public Security Bureau and Yang City’s civilian ranks followed Zhang Rui’s lead.

They quickly departed the battlefield,

passed through the Star Gate,

and returned to Blue Star.
