My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree

Chapter 109: Chapter 80: Washed by Artillery Fire

They plunged without hesitation into the slaughterhouse outside the city—a maelstrom of flying flesh and blood!

Lin Yi was among them, as agile as a cheetah.

’Kicking them while they’re down?’

An opportunity to rack up Battle Merits like this? He wasn’t about to miss it!

Besides,

the massive blue Star Gate looming in the distant wilderness had piqued his curiosity.

He couldn’t wait to see it with his own eyes.

The Martial Artists moved with incredible speed, becoming mere blurs as they streaked across the scorched earth and heaps of corpses.

They quickly caught up with the steel tide thundering forward, its treads crushing the earth below.

Upon joining the Nanjiang Military District’s tank corps,

a highly efficient and lethal joint operation immediately began!

”BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!”

Tank turrets roared and heavy machine guns spewed a scorching metal storm, weaving an impenetrable net of destruction that tore through the fleeing Pigmen’s path.

Beneath this wall of death, forged from steel and flame,

any Pigmen lucky enough to slip through were given no time to breathe.

The Martial Artists following close behind hunted them down with lethal precision!

Gleams of blades flashed and sword-shadows danced. Qi and Blood Power coursed across the battlefield!

Like the sharpest of blades, the Martial Artists efficiently reaped the remaining lives under the cover of the tanks’ firepower.

Amidst agonizing screams, swathes of Pigmen fell to this merciless coordination, their foul blood soaking the scorched earth.

Under the combined assault of tanks and Martial Artists, the allied forces advanced like an unstoppable tide, surging forward relentlessly!

In a short time, they had stormed forward more than ten kilometers,

completely shattering the Pigmen’s retreating formation.

They pushed straight to their rearguard!

Finally,

the target came into view!

There, looming over the wilderness, stood a colossal blue gate of light!

The routed Pigmen, now like terrified, stray dogs, scrambled over one another, swarming madly toward their only escape route—the blue gate of light!

However,

the gate of light was only ten meters wide. How could it possibly accommodate tens of thousands of Pigmen all at once?

Fighting for that slim chance of survival, the Pigmen cast aside all kinship. They shoved, trampled, and even struck down their own kind with their weapons in front of the gate!

Roars, agonizing screams, and furious curses mingled together.

The scene descended into absolute bloody chaos.

Watching this disgusting display of beasts slaughtering each other just to escape, piling up in front of the gate,

what more was there for the human side to say?

”Rockets! Saturation fire! Flatten them!”

The commander’s cold order echoed across the battlefield.

”WHOOSH— WHOOSH— WHOOSH—!”

In an instant,

dozens of rockets, trailing long plumes of fire, tore through the air and blanketed the densely packed horde of Pigmen in front of the gate.

”BOOOOOOM!!!”

A series of earth-shattering explosions erupted.

Blinding light and fire engulfed everything!

A plume of smoke, dust, flesh, and shattered bone surged into the sky!

When the smoke slowly cleared,

all that remained near the gate of light were mountain-like piles of charred remains and the pervasive stench of blood and burning flesh.

Not a single living Pigman was left standing—only corpses.

And so, this sudden and brutal, bloody siege of Yang City

ended in victory, thanks to humanity’s hard-fought struggle and the timely arrival of reinforcements!

...

”What... what the hell is that thing?”

A young Martial Artist stared at the massive gate of light, his voice filled with shock and confusion.

”When did a gate like this just appear out of thin air in Yang City’s territory?”

The person beside him was just as confused, his gaze fixed on the deep blue vortex.

”Could it be... that this endless horde of Pigman beasts crawled out of this gate? Where... where on earth does it lead?”

The same questions rose in the mind of everyone who saw the gate.

Fear and curiosity intertwined.

The tank column halted several hundred meters from the gate of light. Their thick cannon barrels, like a grim forest, were all aimed at the deep blue portal.

They stood on high alert, ready to face any new enemies that might pour out.

The Martial Artists from Yang City, on the other hand, were far less disciplined. They spread out, sizing up the reality-defying gate of light that had appeared so suddenly from a distance.

Although they were filled with a desire to explore,

no one dared to break formation and recklessly approach the unknown entity under the strict military command.

At that moment,

in the command area behind the tank corps,

Governor Yang Zhen of Yang City formally met with the supreme commander of the Nanjiang Military District’s relief force—Major General Xie.

Major General Xie, dressed in a crisp military uniform with gleaming epaulets and a resolute expression, was the first to speak. His voice held a soldier’s bluntness, tinged with deep sorrow:

”Governor Yang, we arrived too late! Because our support was delayed, Yang City has suffered grievous losses and its people have endured great suffering. I, Xie Feng, will report this to the military district and accept full responsibility!”

Governor Yang quickly waved his hand in protest, his face a mask of sincere gratitude born from surviving the disaster:

”Major General Xie, you put me to shame! If you hadn’t led your forces here to turn the tide, Yang City would have been reduced to scorched earth, its people massacred! You saved all of us. I and the million citizens of Yang City are eternally grateful. How could there possibly be any talk of blame?”

”I’m relieved to hear you say that, Governor Yang,” Major General Xie said solemnly, his gaze turning to the gate radiating a deep blue light. ”Governor Yang, that gate must lead to the lair of those Pigman beasts. If we don’t deal with it, it will be an endless source of trouble. What do you think our next step should be? Do we defend, or do we attack?”

A cold glint flashed in Governor Yang’s eyes as he spoke with ruthless decisiveness:

”Major General Xie, everyone in Yang City is eternally grateful that you came to our aid, but the duty of defending this land is mine. In my view, the origin of these beasts is unknown, and they are inherently savage. Venturing into their lair would be far too risky. Our top priority should be to see if we can destroy this gateway and sever their route of invasion!”
