My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree

Chapter 115: Chapter 82: Warehousing the Nuke

”Alright, alright, you have a point! We can’t use nukes, and you don’t want to see massive casualties among the Martial Artists. So tell me, how are we supposed to take a fortress occupied by a hundred-thousand-strong army? Or does the great Grand Governor Yang already have a brilliant plan up his sleeve?”

Governor Yang leaned close to Major General Xie and said in a low voice,

”For this matter... I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you, General Xie.”

”From my observations, these Pigman monsters, despite their tough hides and brute strength... they still need to breathe oxygen! Just like us!”

He pointed to the glowing gate.

”That dimensional rift has a limited area—no more than thirty li in diameter. The total amount of air inside is finite... General Xie, why don’t you request a shipment of ’Cloud Burst Bombs’ from the military district?”

”Cloud Burst Bombs?” Major General Xie was taken aback.

”Exactly!” Governor Yang nodded emphatically. ”Use the Cloud Burst Bombs to consume all the oxygen. The Pigmen inside will suffocate and burn to death within seconds! Clean and efficient!”

He spread his hands, a broad smile on his face.

”Most importantly, there’s no radiation residue! It won’t contaminate the environment! Once the explosions are over and the air slowly flows back in, that dimensional rift will still be a paradise with rich Spiritual Qi and fertile soil! My plan for a Spirit Medicine farm won’t be affected in the slightest! Isn’t it the best of both worlds?”

Major General Xie burst out laughing, slapping his thigh with a loud THWACK.

”Hahaha! Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! Governor Yang, with a mind like yours, it’s a waste you’re not a military strategist! Excellent! A truly excellent plan! I’ll contact the military district myself right now and have them send over a batch of Cloud Burst Bombs at top speed!”

Decisive as ever, he immediately turned and grabbed his communicator.

「...」

Time passed, second by second.

An hour went by before anyone realized it.

「Outside the glowing gate in Yang City.」

The atmosphere, however, grew increasingly tense and restless.

The vast military formation remained grim and silent.

The elite Martial Artists of the Public Security Bureau stood on high alert.

But the civilian Martial Artists who had gathered of their own accord were like ants on a hot pan, unable to hold back any longer.

”What’s going on? Hasn’t all the intel been gathered? That place is a treasure trove of Spiritual Qi! Why haven’t we attacked yet?”

”This is killing me! I heard the Spiritual Qi inside is as thick as water! Any random blade of grass is a Spirit Medicine! Let’s charge in! Kill all those Pigman freaks, and the treasures will be ours!”

”Yeah! What’s the military waiting for? If we wait any longer, the Pigmen will get more reinforcements, and they’ll ruin all the good stuff!”

”Are we fighting or not? Just give us a straight answer!”

The military’s silence was like an invisible boulder, weighing down on everyone’s hearts.

The army and the Public Security Bureau were strictly disciplined and could maintain their composure.

But the civilian Martial Artists, hungry for opportunity and boiling with excitement, had already been driven into a frenzy by the news of ”ten times the Spiritual Qi” and ”Spirit Medicine everywhere.” Their eyes were bloodshot, like starving wolves that had caught the scent of blood, just waiting for the command to pounce into the glowing gate.

Just then, Public Security Bureau personnel began to move quickly, pushing equipment carts.

”Attention, everyone! Receive your equipment now!”

Oxygen masks and portable oxygen tanks were thrust into the hands of every Martial Artist, regardless of whether they were official personnel or civilians.

”Put them on! You must be wearing your oxygen mask before the assault begins!”

A Public Security Bureau officer commanded loudly, his voice cutting through the noisy crowd.

”Oxygen masks?” A burly civilian Martial Artist weighed the heavy mask and oxygen tank in his hands, his face a mask of confusion. ”Isn’t there air on the other side of the glowing gate? Why do we need this stuff? It’ll just get in the way!”

”Follow your orders!” the officer’s tone was non-negotiable. ”This assault will involve a special weapon: the ’Cloud Burst Bomb’! It will instantly burn up all the oxygen within the dimensional rift! Once we’ve confirmed all the Pigmen inside have suffocated to death, we will launch the general offensive! If you don’t want to go in there and suffocate, you’ll put it on and wear it properly!”

”Cloud Burst Bomb?”

In the crowd, Lin Yi, who had just received his equipment, heard those three words, and his heart clenched.

A Cloud Burst Bomb was a tactical weapon of mass destruction that killed by detonating a fuel-air mixture.

It detonated in two stages.

The first detonation dispersed the fuel.

An initial charge inside the bomb would go off, bursting the fuel container and creating a highly concentrated, widespread cloud of flammable aerosol over the target area.

The second detonation was the cloud’s ignition.

Within an extremely short time—typically on the order of milliseconds—the cloud would be ignited by a second charge, instantly generating intense heat, high pressure, and a powerful shockwave. It also rapidly consumed the surrounding oxygen, causing living creatures to suffocate and die in moments.

’The military is going to use Cloud Burst Bombs to clear the area!’

The thought flashed through Lin Yi’s mind like lightning.

’Crap! My Mosquito Avatar is still in there!’

Although the Mosquito Avatar could fly, and a few Cloud Burst Bombs might not be able to completely deplete the oxygen in a thirty-li-wide dimensional rift, the terrifying heat and destructive shockwave that would accompany them...

Even as a First Grade Demon Beast, the Mosquito Avatar would never survive being caught in the blast. It would be an absolute catastrophe!

’I have to recall it immediately! I can’t let it stay in there and risk it!’

Under his precise control, the invisible Mosquito Avatar immediately abandoned its plan to gather herbs in the Star Realm. Beating its wings, it flew toward the Star Gate at top speed.

It skillfully dodged the chaotic air currents and potential dangers, silently passing through the rippling, water-like membrane of light.

The next moment, the Mosquito Avatar landed lightly on Lin Yi’s shoulder, blending perfectly into its surroundings without drawing the slightest bit of attention from anyone.

Only then did the tension in Lin Yi’s heart ease slightly.

「...」

Just then.

HUMMM— HUMMM— HUMMM—

A low, thunderous engine roar tore through the oppressive air above Yang City.
