The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 659: Chapter 265: A Successful Start and a Juvenile Teenager

The next day, at 9:17 a.m.,

At the hillside behind the White City Pine Hill Hotel, the main creators of the ”Chu Tianyao” Season 2 film crew gathered for the opening ceremony of the new drama.

Three cameras covered with red cloth were placed in front of the offering table, which was laden with fruits, drinks, and offerings of chicken, duck, and fish. If it were a Hong Kong Island film crew, they would usually put a roasted pig on the table as well.

At this moment, most of the crew had already arrived, just waiting for the ceremony to begin.

”Ming, didn’t you say the master picked 9:11? It’s almost 9:20 now...”

A newbie on the film crew, looking at the time, couldn’t help asking his mentor beside him.

”Do you think you’re the only one with a watch?”

Photographer Ming gave his apprentice a sideways glance and whispered, ”Why don’t you see who’s not here yet...”

The apprentice glanced around and got it immediately, but couldn’t help asking, ”But doesn’t this mean we’ve missed the lucky time? What’s the point of the ceremony then?”

”I say, are you clueless? Do you really think the master has the final say on the lucky time?”

Ming sneered, speaking with meaning, ”Some people aren’t here, and it’ll never be a lucky time... You haven’t been in society for just one day, how do you not understand this?”

At this moment, with the sound of hurried footsteps, several people were coming up from the mountain, and from a distance, one could hear apologetic voices:

”Sorry, sorry, I’m late... Has the time passed?”

In a black linen Hermes shirt layered over a matching cotton vest, black jeans, and casual brown-soled shoes, with a hairstyle that was obviously meticulously styled, there was a hint of formality within the casual look.

Seeing the young man striding over under the guidance of the assistant director, even the crowd accustomed to the handsome and beautiful in the entertainment industry was somewhat impressed.

The young man was Zhou Wang. Although he looked spirited at the moment, it was because Yun Lan and Yun Rou had dolled him up a bit. In fact, he didn’t really wake up until Yun Rou helped him wash his hair...

No choice, he was just so sleepy.

Zhou Wang had returned to his room at five in the morning the previous night, only sleeping for a little over three hours. If he weren’t a representative of the investors, skipping the opening ceremony wouldn’t have been appropriate. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come at all.

”Haha, brother, you came just in time. A minute later and you would have really missed the lucky moment.”

Ma Yuan, along with the new director Huang Yuming, greeted him. Ma Yuan laughed, and Huang Yuming echoed his sentiments.

Zhou Wang was about to say something when a gentle drizzle began to fall from the sky. He stopped in surprise, ”It’s raining... Does this affect anything?”

The director, who was in his early thirties, quickly laughed and said, ”This is a good sign. It’s rare to have rain at a start, it’s called ’fortune comes with water’!”

”Right, fortune comes with water!”

Ma Yuan laughed heartily, ”Brother, you came and this autumn rain started. Isn’t this the lucky time?”

There was a burst of laughter from the crowd. The photography apprentice in the back couldn’t help but twitch his lips. Damn, you guys have all the angles covered...

Anyway, just like Ming said, whatever Zhou Wang did must be right!

But considering he also received an 800-dollar red envelope from Zhou Wang, which was equivalent to two days of his hard-earned salary, the apprentice joined his mentor, Ming, and laughed out loud.

”Since that’s the case, shall we start?”

Zhou Wang laughed.

Then, under the director’s call, all the crew members gathered in front of the offering table to begin the incense ceremony.

Standing at the front, Zhou Wang glanced around and noticed that the leading actress Xia Xiwei hadn’t returned yet, so she probably wasn’t attending the opening ceremony. Everyone else was present, though.

Besides, there were a few media reporters collaborating to report on the opening ceremony, serving as a promotional warm-up.

Ma Yuan was the first to step forward. Zhou Wang, having been given three incense sticks, whispered to Huang Yuming next to him, ”Who are we praying to?”

”There’s no specific deity, we’re not really practicing feudal superstitions, it’s just to bring good luck. You can pray to whoever you like, to heaven, earth, or the profession, just praying for a smooth shoot...”

Listening to Huang Yuming’s explanation, Zhou Wang understood.

After Ma Yuan finished offering incense, Zhou Wang stepped forward and imitated Ma Yuan’s actions, lighting the incense and bowing in four directions.

Of course, beneath Zhou Wang’s sincere appearance, he was inwardly praying to the gods of Summoner’s Rift...

After all, Zhou Wang didn’t know if other deities existed, but in a certain dimension, these gods who carried him to victory were the ones he could tangibly feel.

”Thank you for your gifts!”

Zhou Wang thought silently, then stepped forward to place the three incense sticks in the burner, and retreated into the crowd.

The opening ceremony was not overly complicated, and not everyone had the privilege to offer incense. Besides the director, producer, and investors, only a few of the main actors could participate.

After the incense was burnt, Ma Yuan, Huang Yuming, and Zhou Wang each stood in front of a red cloth-covered camera. At the end of the countdown, they pulled off the red cloth together, and amidst fireworks and applause, the opening ceremony was completed.

At this time, film crews usually distributed red envelopes to everyone, though they didn’t contain much money, it was just for good luck.

After finishing the photo session, Huang Yuming also distributed the offerings from the table for everyone to eat and drink. Zhou Wang had some durian, and with that, the entire process ended.
