The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 504: Chapter 219 A Few Minor Things (Additional Update)

After Zhang Shihao finished speaking, Zhou Wang was just about to respond when his phone suddenly rang.

Because Zhou Wang’s phone was right on the tea table, when the screen lit up, Zhang Shihao saw it too. He was momentarily taken aback, then chuckled,

”Well, brother, you also know someone named Zhu Yunlong? And he’s a lawyer too... huh?”

Zhang Shihao suddenly felt something was off halfway through his sentence, but before he could figure it out, Zhou Wang had already answered the call.

He didn’t avoid it, directly putting it on speaker.

”Mr. Zhou, it’s me, Old Zhu!”

A chuckle echoed from the other end of the line.

”Lawyer Zhu, hello, what can I do for you?”

”Here’s the thing...”

The other end was quiet, but Zhu Yunlong couldn’t help lowering his voice a bit.

”Ahem, yesterday a celebrity named Zhang DaDa contacted me. He wants to sue Wuyou Media, concerning a contract termination dispute, Mr. Zhou, you should be aware of this, right?”

Zhu Yunlong certainly knew Zhou Wang was a shareholder of Wuyou Media; in fact, he was one of the earliest people to know about this issue...

Because the initial share acquisition was completed with his assistance, all original copies of the acquisition agreements were still locked in the safe in his office.

”Just heard about it.”

Under the stunned expression of Zhang Shihao, Zhou Wang simply smiled.

”I’m not in a position to make a decision on this, so I wanted to hear what you think, Mr. Zhou...”

”Have you talked with Zhang DaDa?”

Zhou Wang pondered and asked.

”Just finished, ahem, in fact, he’s sitting in my office now... of course, not next to me. I’m calling you from the confidential room.”

”What does he want?”

”His demand is that Wuyou Media repurchase his shares according to the current market value. In addition, he demands Wuyou Media to compensate for his reputational damage and publicly apologize.”

Zhu Yunlong gave a simple summary.

”Old Zhu, if you really put your best effort into it, what are the chances of winning from your side?”

Zhou Wang curiously asked.

”Not too high... seventy percent chance.”

”Seventy percent?”

Zhang Shihao, who had been listening in, couldn’t help but speak up, ”Lawyer Zhu, I know you’re great, but aren’t you talking nonsense?”

Within Huaxia’s judicial system, the space for a lawyer to maneuver is quite limited, so if a lawyer says he has a seventy percent chance in a case, it basically means he’s saying, ’I’m sure to win.’

As the other party who had just confronted him, Zhang Shihao was naturally unconvinced.

Even though Wuyou and Yunshangyun didn’t have a collaboration, their legal department wasn’t idle, handling countless similar cases every year. The resident lawyer, Lawyer Qian, was also an authority in the field.

That’s why Zhang Shihao felt Lawyer Zhu was a bit boastful...

”And this is...”

Zhu Yunlong on the other end didn’t expect Zhou Wang to have someone else beside him, and he was momentarily stunned.

”Zhang Shihao, Mr. Zhang, you probably know him... one of us.”

Zhou Wang added three words at the end.

Zhu Yunlong immediately understood, and he wasn’t annoyed by Zhang Shihao’s skepticism; he just chuckled, ”Ah, so it’s Mr. Zhang of Wuyou Media, I’ve long admired your reputation, you’re truly a prominent figure in Hang City’s financial world!”

”Lawyer Zhu, may I ask what the basis is for the ’seventy percent chance’ you’re talking about?”

Zhang Shihao still clung to the previous topic.

”I listened to Zhang DaDa’s account of the incident and reviewed your company’s announcement regarding the gala event. My judgment is... Zhang DaDa actually didn’t have any obvious breach of contract; missing work due to ’physical discomfort’ is an exception stipulated in the contract, isn’t that right, Mr. Zhang?”

”But he wasn’t really unwell...”

”Who can prove that?”

Zhu Yunlong chuckled, ”He indeed went to the hospital that night, you should be aware of that. If we’re being picky, whose health is absolutely impeccable these days? If he wants to be hospitalized, can the hospital refuse him? And in reality, he did stay in the hospital overnight...”

”With the hospital’s backing and given your contract doesn’t clearly state how ill one has to be to be exempted from work obligations, just this alone invalidates your reason for termination.”

Zhang Shihao was left speechless for a while.

”As for the so-called moral deficiency, that’s a matter for public opinion to consider... unless you can make the public opinion influential enough to interfere with the judiciary, otherwise it won’t matter.”

Zhu Yunlong talked confidently, ”Moreover, Mr. Zhang, you might not know, Zhang DaDa has some favorable evidence, for instance, he also reached out to some key influencers dissatisfied with Wuyou, planning to collectively speak out at a critical moment about the unjust treatment they received at Wuyou...”

”Is there such a thing?”

Zhang Shihao’s face suddenly turned serious.

”That’s just one of his bargaining chips, there are other things I can’t conveniently discuss over the phone, but I’m sure Mr. Zhang, you’re likely unaware of them.”

”Lawyer Zhu, regardless of how much Zhang DaDa is paying you, I’ll add 30% more, please take care of this...”

After Zhang Shihao finished saying this, Zhu Yunlong remained silent. Only then did Zhang Shihao realize he had overlooked something.

He patted his head, leaned back, and gestured ”please” towards Zhou Wang.

”Can it be resolved?”

Zhou Wang smiled and asked.

”That depends on how thoroughly Mr. Zhou wants it resolved.”

Sure enough, Zhu Yunlong immediately replied.

This scene made Zhang Shihao smile wryly, and the look in his eyes towards Zhou Wang became even more curious.

How many secrets did this amazing young brother have hidden within him...
