The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Debt-Free, Light as a Feather

”True Manner Training Book.”

Zhou Wang had only one thought after reading the system’s introduction.

It wasn’t as direct as the ”Azure Dragon Saber,” which offered material rewards; this ”Fiona’s Posture Training Book” aimed to improve Zhou Wang’s own condition.

Although he wasn’t particularly excited, Zhou Wang thought about it, ”Cui Si’s Azure Dragon Saber” was given at 88 points, while the ”Posture Training Book” was given at 97 points.

Looking at it from this angle, it meant that in the system’s judgment, the ”Posture Training Book” was clearly more precious than the ”Azure Dragon Saber,” since reaching 97 points must be harder.

The 30-day period was quite long, and Zhou Wang didn’t dwell on it; he simply clicked ”Use.”

The ”Posture Training Book” in the warehouse disappeared in an instant, and at the same time, Zhou Wang felt as if something had been added to his mind—he couldn’t explain it, it felt more like a subconscious obsession.

The next second, Zhou Wang, who had been slouching in the backseat, suddenly sat up ”swoosh,” startling the driver.

”What the hell!”

But Zhou Wang himself was very confused. At that moment, he just felt that the Ge You slouching pose was uncomfortable everywhere; he didn’t think too much and just followed his instincts to sit up.

Reflecting on that moment, Zhou Wang vaguely noticed the effect of the ”Posture Training Book.”

It was as if an invisible spring had been added inside him, causing symptoms like bodily discomfort and uncoordinated limbs whenever he tried to slouch again.

Zhou Wang couldn’t help but laugh and cry. To be honest, this feeling wasn’t comfortable. So, did being an elegant noble come with a price?

Now Zhou Wang felt like he had lost a kind of happiness known as ”lying flat”.

On the way, Zhou Wang tried various postures, and eventually, when he arrived at the school gate, the driver who politely asked him to get out gave an odd look at Zhou Wang, who had a straight back, slightly raised head, one hand propping against the car window, and a profound gaze.

You really know how to pose, turning a car ride into a CEO vibe, huh!

Carrying a bunch of stuff, Zhou Wang first bought a mid-size Da Zhong Jiu cigarette at the school gate, and then quickly rushed to the cafeteria.

He got a large pig trotter rice with extra char siu and chicken leg, and a happy fatso water with extra ice and lemon. When he got back to the dormitory and closed the door, the already starving Zhou Wang quickly turned on his computer.

But... 20 minutes later, he still hadn’t had a single bite of his meal.

The reason was simple: he couldn’t find a suitable show.

”What’s the use of this VIP membership!”

Zhou Wang cursed in frustration, though the logged-in member account wasn’t his, it didn’t stop him from feeling sorry for a certain roommate.

Zhou Wang compromised and opened a short video app. He randomly selected a film explanation titled ”This Man is Called Xiao Shuai,” and only then managed to eat his meal smoothly.

However, while eating, the awkwardness he felt walking returned, and it was particularly noticeable.

The etiquette book was forcibly correcting his eating posture, mainly the frequency of feeding.

Zhou Wang once read a news article saying that eating slowly could reduce the burden on the stomach, but it was quite torturous to eat pig trotter rice slowly...

Fast food that’s meant to be stuffed in big mouthfuls to get the right taste, of course, bites taken little by little become increasingly unappetizing. Although Zhou Wang didn’t have the habit of wasting food, it took him three times longer than usual to finish his meal. Finally, with a swig of cola, Zhou Wang let out a sigh of relief, feeling like a load had been lifted.

Zhou Wang glanced at the watch on his wrist valued at 430,000 and caressed it as if in sorrow. He saw that it was not yet four-thirty, and the drowsiness that had originally overwhelmed him vanished. There were still many matters he needed to handle.

The first, of course, was to repay debts.

Although some of the money had only recently been borrowed, now that he had sufficient principal to earn the maximum interest, there was no point in stubbornly delaying repayment. Even if Zhou Wang’s financial situation had always been precarious, he particularly loathed the feeling of indebtedness, always carrying the discomfort of feeling inferior.

He methodically paid off his debts on various apps and uninstalled apps like ”Some Music” which he would likely never use again. Then Zhou Wang transferred 3,000 to Yang Hao and 50,000 to Liu Zixi.

Different from swiping a card, when transferring the second sum, Zhou Wang encountered a transaction limit warning. He had to call the bank’s customer service to increase his daily limit before the money could be successfully sent.

The bank customer service, after checking Zhou Wang’s balance, also suggested that he personally visit a branch to upgrade his card type so the bank could serve him better.

Zhou Wang had heard before that debit cards also have ”rankings.” A daily limit of 50,000 would certainly not suffice for his lifestyle in the future; indeed, it seemed necessary to make the trip.

After transferring the money, Zhou Wang sent a red envelope to each of them, one for 88, and another for 188.

Some say that between true friends such acts are unnecessary, but Zhou Wang held a different opinion.

The tough times he had endured had long made him realize that there are no permanent relationships in this world. Apart from his parents, no one would continue to be unconditionally kind forever.

The more he cherished them, the more care he believed was necessary. Love, in any form, required a balance of giving and receiving...

Had he not been aware that they would refuse a larger amount, Zhou Wang would have wanted to transfer even more.

With all his debts cleared, Zhou Wang silently lit a cigarette and was engulfed in myriad emotions. He had lived this debt-riddled life for nearly three years, with his debt once soaring over 100,000 at its peak.

Surely some would say this amount of money is peanuts, especially in a certain district of Huaxia where the average person is a millionaire and everyone lives the high life. If you insist on asking which district, I can only tell you to look at the short video comment section...

But for Zhou Wang, an ordinary college student, a debt of over a hundred thousand was enough to make him lose all hope for the future.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had only a few girlfriends by now.

Yang Hao quickly accepted the transfer and the red envelope without asking too much. He simply mentioned that he was planning to visit Ming City at the end of the month and asked Zhou Wang to prepare a comprehensive hospitality plan well in advance to properly comfort his ”old father,” adding a line at the end, ”I never drink a wine without a second half.”

Zhou Wang casually sent an emoji that read ”one fart from me will blow you to death” and stopped paying attention to his friend’s boisterous claims. He then opened his contact list.

After lingering on the contact saved as ”Mom,” Zhou Wang finally made the call.

Zhou Wang thought he had adjusted his mindset, but the first sentence from his mother almost broke his composure.

”Son, have you returned? Is it that you don’t have enough money for the ticket? I can transfer some more to you through WeChat...”

Zhou Wang didn’t understand why, as someone who wouldn’t even utter a sound when bleeding, his parents’ simple words could so easily trigger his tears.

Taking a deep breath and trying to keep his voice calm, Zhou Wang briefly explained to his mother, giving the excuse that he had found a promising job in Ming City and planned to take another shot at it, etc.

After some explanation, he was barely able to get his mother to agree and repeatedly assured her that he indeed had enough money. Hanging up the phone, Zhou Wang, however, felt somewhat troubled.

It didn’t matter to others, but given the current trend, it seemed only a matter of time before he became truly wealthy. How would he explain his sudden wealth to his parents then?

Not being able to disclose the source of the money, Zhou Wang would find it impossible to freely express his filial piety, which was a contradiction.

”Winning a first prize with a 50,000 stake?”

After much deliberation, Zhou Wang realized this seemed to be the only reason that was somewhat plausible... haha.
