The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 What kind of family is this!

Xiao Mao and Ranran entered one after the other, just as Zhou Wang was sitting on the couch, admiring the watch on his wrist.

He had never worn a watch before, but he had fallen in love with the feeling the moment he put this one on. At this moment, he felt that the 400,000-yuan price tag was not expensive at all; it had nothing to do with the confidence the system gave him.

Anyway, although the watch didn’t initially seem very eye-catching, it inexplicably emitted a kind of understated handsomeness...

At this time, as Ranran and Xiao Mao walked over, Zhou Wang showed it to Ranran and asked, ”What do you think?”

”It’s really nice, suits brother very well!”

Ranran appraised it seriously and nodded.

She genuinely thought it was attractive, and Zhou Wang, who was wearing the Versace casual outfit he just bought, matched the watch’s color scheme and style in an inexplicable way.

”Then that’s the one!”

Zhou Wang had already made up his mind, and since Ranran was unaware of the watch’s price and thought it was good, the watch should indeed earn a decent ”impression score.”

While Zhou Wang was showing the watch to Ranran, Xiao Mao also subconsciously glanced at it.

Hmm, it’s really nice, but it wasn’t one of the familiar IWC models he knew. Xiao Mao didn’t care much and walked up with a smile, saying, ”Hello, I am Ranran’s boss, there is something...”

”Please wait a moment!”

Zhou Wang wasn’t in the mood to listen to a stranger rambling on, especially since there wasn’t much time left for the round, and he didn’t want any more delays that might lead to complications.

Xiao Mao, who was cut off by Zhou Wang, frowned but held back.

”I’ll take this watch, where do I pay?”

Zhou Wang looked toward Manager Cao, who had been waiting quietly.

Given his professional ethic, Manager Cao didn’t show any surprise, but he was inwardly amazed by Zhou Wang’s decisiveness.

You have to understand that from the moment Zhou Wang entered the store until now, not even ten minutes had passed...

The customer who came before Zhou Wang also seemed to like this watch, but given it was a 400,000-yuan item, he couldn’t make up his mind right away, and Manager Cao had not expected to sell the watch smoothly.

”Mr. Zhou, although you’ve made your decision, I think it’s necessary to inform you of a fact,” said Manager Cao.

”Go ahead.”

Zhou Wang, seeing that Manager Cao seemed serious, listened patiently.

”Our IWC has actually launched various promotions for many popular models. In short, buying most of our watches can get you varying discounts, and there are several options for watches in the 400,000-yuan price range, such as the Pilot’s Watch IW503604, the Portuguese IW503406, and so on,” Manager Cao said earnestly. ”Among these options, you might find a style you like, but if you decide to buy the one you’re holding, since it’s a limited edition, you won’t get any discounts and can only purchase it at the full price of 436,000 yuan, so...”

”Pfft... cough, cough!”

Xiao Mao, who had picked up the teapot from the table and poured himself a cup of water, suddenly choked.

He looked over in shock, unsure if he should be looking at Zhou Wang or the watch on his hand.

Did I just hear that right...?

Did you just say it’s four hundred...

He doubted if he had misheard.

This watch... is for frickin’ more than 400,000 yuan?

Although Xiao Mao wasn’t typically the type to lose his composure, at this moment, his face involuntarily twisted a bit.

Manager Cao’s words were interrupted by his coughing, and Zhou Wang frowned at him. Xiao Mao instinctively made an apologetic gesture.

Compared with Xiao Mao, although Ranran also thought that a watch costing more than 400,000 yuan was extravagant, having seen Zhou Wang’s swift extravagance in luxury stores before, she wasn’t too surprised; instead, it seemed almost expected.

Manager Cao’s words were left unfinished, but Zhou Wang had already grasped his meaning.

That is, if Zhou Wang bought other watches at the same price level, he might get a discount, but this watch must be purchased at the original price, which was sort of a ”loss.”

This Manager Cao really knew how to consider the customers’ views. What was there to complain about such a shopping experience?

With a mix of emotions, Zhou Wang smiled and shook his head, ”Thanks, but I won’t consider the others. Let’s swipe the card.”

”Alright, please wait a moment.”

Manager Cao didn’t say any more and quickly fetched the POS machine from the front desk. It wasn’t until a receipt showing ”436,000 RMB” was printed that the young clerk fully confirmed that the small-looking young man in front of him had really spent over 400,000 to buy an IWC!

Brother, that is an IWC!

The young clerk had many ”WTFs” in his mind that he didn’t know how to express.

It wasn’t that a watch worth four hundred thousand would unsettle him; he had seen watches worth over a million, but the problem still lay in the fact that it was an IWC...

Simply because there were too many choices at this price point.

Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Lange... even a nice series from Patek Philippe could be bought!

Taking his own Longines watch as an example, even Longines, claimed to be the entry-level of watch collecting, had models worth 60 or 70 thousand, but who would choose Longines with that budget?

Even leaving aside the prestige, and just from a value-retention standpoint, Rolex completely outperformed IWC—It was well-known that IWC had many available on the market and declined in value quickly.

Don’t give me any talk about limited editions or not—wearing that IWC on your wrist, how many people could tell it’s limited edition?

However, after the young clerk calmed down and thought about it, he looked at Zhou Wang differently.

Because he could tell Zhou Wang genuinely loved this watch and hadn’t even considered the others.

When someone buys an expensive item without considering its investment potential, it only means they don’t lack money at all.

The young clerk remembered a boss saying that from the perspective of asset allocation, watches and cars weren’t the major parts of their consumption—they were just for the sake of appearances. Spending a couple hundred thousand on a watch was a reasonable choice for someone with tens of millions in assets.

What about four or five hundred thousand?

More importantly, given Zhou Wang’s age, the money likely came from his family, and since he was alone, that means it was just ”pocket money” to him...

The more the young clerk pondered this, the more aghast he felt.

What kind of family could afford to raise a kid like that?

While he was lost in his thoughts, Zhou Wang had already walked to the store’s full-length mirror to size himself up while awaiting the ”judgment” of the system.

In his heart, he didn’t hold too high a hope; if the ”Azure Dragon Saber” gave him a return higher than 1x, he’d be satisfied with not losing out.

Ding!
