Almighty Sweet Queen is Really Rich!

Chapter 536: Chapter 536: Always Feeling Something is Off

Xue Niannian is eighteen this year, at the prime of her youth, with long, silky black hair draping over her shoulders, delicate features, fair skin, and large, round violet eyes that resemble deep purple pools, making her look like a lovely girl-next-door. When she wears a women’s business suit, she looks very spirited.

Xiao Heng wore a subtle smile and said, ”You’ve passed the interview. You’ll be interning with me as my assistant.”

Upon hearing the first part, ”You’ve passed the interview,” Xue Niannian was so thrilled that her heart almost leapt out of her chest. But the latter part, ”You’ll be interning with me as my assistant,” brought her back to reality, and her smile froze instantly.

Somewhat shocked, Xue Niannian couldn’t help but say, ”With Manager Xiao? Didn’t the job listing say it was for Mr. Feng’s personal assistant?”

Xiao Heng glanced at her and headed toward the elevator, saying indifferently, ”You actually read the job listing? Didn’t it state male candidates only?”

Nervously, Xue Niannian didn’t quite grasp the meaning behind Xiao Heng’s words and could only respond, ”I thought a large company like Ao Shi Group couldn’t discriminate based on gender, which is why I applied.”

Xiao Heng nodded, ”You’re right, which is why you’ve passed the interview. Just follow me in the future.”

Xue Niannian couldn’t help but glance back at the CEO’s office, asking softly, ”But Mr. Feng’s personal assistant...”

Xiao Heng frowned and said, ”Mr. Feng has already looked over your resume, and while it’s indeed impressive, you’re still just a university student. You understand that a personal assistant to the CEO requires someone with work experience.”

Hearing this, Xue Niannian nodded involuntarily. Ao Shi Group was such a big company that even with her excellence at Jianghai University, it didn’t necessarily mean she’d qualify for an internship here.

But she still felt that something was off.

Xiao Heng pressed the elevator button, and Xue Niannian watched in surprise, asking softly, ”Manager Xiao, your office is...?”

Xiao Heng glanced at her with a meaningful look and said, ”My office is on the sixth floor.”

”Six, sixth floor?” Xue Niannian’s cheeks twitched suddenly.

The CEO’s office is on the thirteenth floor, and Manager Xiao’s office is on the sixth floor... such a big difference, how would she find a reason to go to the CEO’s office?!!

There’s a chasm between the sixth and the thirteenth floors!

This isn’t how Miss An Ruyi described it at all.

Didn’t she say that Mr. Feng would definitely take her under his wing? How did she end up following this manager instead?

Xiao Heng led Xue Niannian into the elevator and added, ”By the way, Ao Shi Group doesn’t allow female employees to dress too gaudily. You can wear contact lenses but no colored ones.”

In a rush, Xue Niannian said, ”These are natural, not colored lenses.”

Xiao Heng chuckled without saying more and led Xue Niannian to his office, instructing the secretary to find a workstation for this intern before ignoring her...

Feeling uneasy, after finishing some assigned internship tasks, Xue Niannian couldn’t resist taking out her phone to send a message to An Ruyi on WeChat.

[Xue Niannian: Miss An, why is it different from what you said? I did get an internship at Ao Shi Group, but I haven’t even seen Mr. Feng the whole day.]

[An Ruyi: Just being able to intern as a university student is already a privilege.]

Even though Xue Niannian felt it was odd, she also thought An Ruyi made sense. Perhaps the exception that allowed her to intern was thanks to Mr. Feng’s help?

This internship application at Ao Shi Group was prompted by An Ruyi, who not only paid her but also gave her the chance to intern at a big company. Why not go for it?

Just as she was pondering, a ghostly voice sounded above her, ”Using your phone during work hours is not allowed!”
