My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

68: Favored by two universities“He actually managed to advance to Gold 5…”,“Too bad. If he had advanced before the tryouts, his current hunting score would probably be stably in the top 10.”,The two Recruitment Officers from Qingchuan were amazed but also felt a little regretful for Shi Li.

With his current score, he probably wouldn’t meet the standards in the Jiangnan University tryouts.

It remained to be seen if any teachers there would favor him and offer an exception.

But even if there were, it would likely only be a conditional letter of intent at most.

As they sighed, Shi Li in the screen had already jumped onto his hoverbike and quickly found a Three-Star Demon, then started a card game.

Buzz…

The card game barrier rose, and when Shi Li placed his deck and revealed the first card, they were stunned.

The card face of the Jumping Guard was fully visible.

“This is the two-star card that allowed him to advance to Gold 5?”

“Amazing, what a great card!”

“If the Jumping Guard is placed in the front row to absorb damage, it will definitely accumulate 40 full charge energy before it leaves the field.”

“Originally, both sides have 2 empty normal card slots, and the Jumping Guard can definitely clear out 2 more card slots before triggering Stasis.”

“This directly summons a full set, which is equivalent to gaining 20 attack power for free.”

“Even in PVP, this Characteristic is quite troublesome.”

“Although it only has 5 attack and 5 health, clearing it requires one attack, and if not cleared, it will continue to deal damage.”

The two spoke in unison, lavishing praise on this Jumping Guard card.

“…”,On the other hand, Hu Lan slowly spoke, her arms crossed: “Immediately inform Jiangnan University that we will be using our Priority Selection Right on Shi Li.”

“What?!” x2

The two Recruitment Officers showed surprised expressions upon hearing this.

In the circle, to make the assessment work fairer and more just, various organizers would issue a set of related rules and regulations.

These rules were usually distributed to each inspection team before departure.

Although there might be slight differences in details, they were fundamentally similar.

For example, Jiangnan University’s rules included a general right, the Priority Selection Right.

An inspection team that used the Priority Selection Right could negotiate with a target student before other inspection teams.

Before the negotiation officially concluded, recruitment personnel from the other three universities were not allowed to contact the student.

Of course, the organizers were an exception.

In principle, it was their inspection team’s turn to act only after Jiangnan University had finished negotiating with all their intended targets.

“Dean Hu, is this really appropriate?”

“Although Shi Li’s performance is indeed good, it doesn’t seem worth using this…”

Using the Priority Selection Right came with a cost: when contacting other students during this assessment, they would have to rank behind other schools.

It was just completing a one-star to two-star upgrade; it wasn’t such a big deal.

One must know that some Unique Character Cards even started as two-star, three-star, or even four-star.

“You have no idea of the value of his star upgrade this time.”

Hu Lan glanced at the two.

However, this was understandable, as they certainly didn’t have a Characteristic Unique Character Card.

In her opinion, a Gold 4-level Mascot reward certainly wouldn’t be enough to directly upgrade a Characteristic Unique Character Card from one-star to two-star.

Considering Shi Li’s actions over the past two days, it indicated that he had indeed carried out a star upgrade mission.

And judging by the strength of the Tiao Tiao Awakening Characteristic, she speculated that his completion rate was definitely over 95%.

To achieve such a completion rate in just two days, this young man definitely possessed Talent.

(So, this is why you strongly recommended him, Senior Brother.)

Hu Lan now understood Principal Su’s intention.

Because Hu Lan was the decision-maker for this inspection team, although they still had doubts, the Recruitment Officers still complied and contacted Jiangnan University.

Less than two minutes after completing the application, a new message came from Jiangnan University.

“Dean Hu, Jiangnan University said that Dayuan University has also submitted an application for the Priority Selection Right, and the target is also Shi Li!”

Clearly, Dayuan must have received news of their use of the selection right, which prompted them to follow suit.

“Hmph, that Zhou Dazhuang fellow reacts quite fast.”

Hu Lan sneered.

The rules stated that when multiple parties used the Priority Selection Right on the same target, the target would make the counter-selection.

“As expected of Dean Hu, your vision is like a torch!”

“I bet those guys from Dayuan had already set their sights on him.”

At this point, the attitudes of the two Recruitment Officers had undergone a complete 180-degree change.

This feeling was like encountering a seemingly overpriced piece of clothing and thinking it was expensive, but when others rushed to buy it, it suddenly didn’t feel expensive anymore.

This was how the two felt now.

In fact, after advancing to Gold 5 and unlocking a new column of empty card slots, Shi Li’s strength had achieved a qualitative leap.

Because a two-star Character Card with a positive Characteristic can itself be regarded as a three-star Character Card.

So, it was no exaggeration to say that his current deck strength was comparable to Platinum 2 rank.

Not many people in this tryout had flying vehicles.

And those whose strength reached Platinum 2 were even fewer.

Coupled with his deeper mental power reserves compared to others, he needed much less rest time.

Therefore, with the boost from these three factors, Shi Li’s hunting speed was remarkably fast.

…

The last day of the tryouts, the final hour.

“I can’t go on, this is it.”

Watching the dissipating light of the demon in front of him, Fang Jinghai leaned weakly against the stone wall.

After a fierce battle with an LV6 Three-Star Demon, he felt completely depleted.

“Bad news, it looks like I’ll have to have the teachers from the base pick me up.”

He showed a wry smile, sweat soaking his bangs and back.

“Good news, I finally held onto my ranking.”

But Fang Jinghai’s mood was joyful.

934 points, ranked 4th.

More than 30 points higher than 5th place.

Over these five days, his hunting experience had grown richer and richer.

Especially his technique for searching for demons, which was much more skilled than before the tryouts.

“Let’s check the rankings of the others.”

Since he had nothing to do, Fang Jinghai opened the rankings and started browsing.

These days, he only focused on the rankings on the first page, which were the changes in the top 6.

He hadn’t really bothered to flip through the later pages.

Logically, the second-highest ranked person in their Durian City group should be Liang Dan; if his prediction was correct, she should be around 15th place.

“Hmm?!”

However, after only flipping one page, Fang Jinghai discovered an unbelievable name.

This name was at the top of the second page.

Shi Li: 718 points, 7th place.

Wasn’t this guy only a little over 100 points on the third day?!

He surged by nearly 600 points in just two days?

How did he do that?!

…
