55: 【Jumping Guard】Star UpgradeAfter leaving Xiu Qingshan’s office, Shi Li immediately went to the Card Hall downstairs.

The C-Level Contract was unique here, so the Card Hall had already provided him with a private training room.

It had a full set of facilities, including a card simulator and a cubic pod.

There was even a bathroom and a bedroom, and meals were free.

Even if Shi Li didn’t come, someone would clean it every day.

However, because he usually spent all his time in the Monster Training Ground, Shi Yuan used this training room even more often than he did.

Actually, whether Shi Li used it or not was irrelevant; what mattered was having such a setup.

It showcased the status of a C-Level Contract holder.

”This Star Ascension card came at just the right time, and I happen to have the funds now.”

There were still 5 days until the Jiangnan University tryouts, and Shi Li believed that as long as he could successfully advance to Gold 5, he would definitely perform better in the tryouts.

At the same time, he was also looking forward to the successful Star Ascension of the Jumping Guardian.

Because from the Red Blade Maiden’s previous Star Ascension experience, he knew that this one-to-two Star Ascension might bring a very powerful trait to it.

He opened the card system and clicked to use it, and lines of text quickly popped up.

”The name of this mission is: Dragon Burial Ancient Tomb (Star Ascension).”

”The ancient tomb has seen the light of day again, and amidst the constant harassment of tomb raiders, Tiao Tiao has finally awakened.”

”As a guardian of the ancient tomb, today he sensed new intruders.”

”The long-dormant anger was ignited, and Tiao Tiao decided to personally repel these intruders.”

”However, the number of intruders seems to be quite large, and he believes he needs some helpers.”

”Tiao Tiao needs to awaken a companion to fight alongside him.”

”Please help him make a choice.”

”A. South No. 1 Tomb Chamber”

”There lies Tiao Tiao’s most familiar companion, a powerful warrior skilled in direct confrontation.”

”B. South No. 2 Tomb Chamber”

”Sleeping in this tomb chamber is a priest who mastered many spells.”

”C. South No. 3 Tomb Chamber”

”The owner here enjoyed studying the secrets of death during his lifetime, and now an alluring scent emanates from within.”

”D. South No. 4 Tomb Chamber”

”Tiao Tiao doesn’t like the guy lying in there.”

”Good heavens, it’s a four-choice question right off the bat.”

Faced with many choices, Shi Li tried to analyze them.

The companion in option A seemed to be a Brute Force or Momentum-type aggressive character.

After all, only these two types best fit the definition of a ”powerful warrior.”

The companion in option B should be a support-type character.

Support-type character cards in simulation missions sometimes possess very powerful and critical support traits.

They are often irreplaceable in simulation missions.

The companion in option C could be a Healing-type character.

After all, studying death; there are no living people in this ancient tomb now, so studying death is equivalent to studying life.

Of course, experience told Shi Li that such vague descriptions could also represent danger, such as a battle.

Option D was even harder to say, with no relevant description.

The probability of it being a combat stage felt even higher than option C.

”For the first Strategy, I’m not aiming for immediate completion; what I want is to go as far as possible and explore as much information as possible.”

So, after some thought, Shi Li finally chose option B.

Although option C might be a healer character, it was not very certain.

It was not as reliable as option B looked.

So he clicked to select it.

”After consideration, Tiao Tiao decided to enter the South No. 2 Tomb Chamber.”

”It’s hard to believe that under such circumstances, this tomb chamber could remain spotless.”

”This seems to hint at the personality of the tomb chamber’s owner.”

”Tiao Tiao pushed open the coffin lid, revealing the body of a beautiful woman dressed in priestly attire.”

”He cast the awakening spell.”

”The woman’s eyes slowly opened...”

Next, there was a dialogue between the two characters.

Because these dialogues might contain key information for subsequent Strategy, Shi Li memorized all of them.

After the dialogue was completed, a prompt popped up.

”Tiao Tiao Priestess has joined your deck.”

Then Shi Li saw the card face of this character.

”Tiao Tiao Priestess”

Listen to the Wind, 30 points, Two-star

Attack 30, 100/100, 0/60

”Spirit Purification Charm - 20 Energy”: Tiao Tiao Priestess selects 1 target and casts Purification (T2)

”Spirit Expulsion Charm - 20 Energy”: Tiao Tiao Priestess selects 1 target and casts Dispel (T2)

(Purification: Purifies negative effects on the target)

(Dispel: Dispels positive effects on the target)

”It seems this mission will encounter some annoying enemies.”

Seeing the Tiao Tiao Priestess’s card face, Shi Li frowned slightly.

Generally speaking, simulation missions do not assign completely useless characters.

Since Purification and Dispel appeared now, it meant that related enemies would likely be encountered later.

These enemies who use buffs and debuffs are often difficult to deal with.

It is important to note that Purification is one of the few special cases among positive effects, with a T2 priority, and can counteract T2 negative effects in the current round.

After obtaining the Tiao Tiao Priestess, Shi Li quickly encountered his first battle.

He held 9+1 card slots, but he only had two cards: Jumping Guardian and Tiao Tiao Priestess.

Logically, he shouldn’t have been able to win this stage, but fortunately, he still had Dimensional Intervention.

Shi Li directly inserted the Red Blade Maiden into his deck, and as expected, he easily conquered it.

In this way, he smoothly arrived before the final BOSS.

This time, the final BOSS was not a single, powerful individual, but a group of tomb raiders.

Moreover, their number exceeded 9+1 cards, and they would replenish their ranks every 2 rounds.

When they reached the 50th round, the opposing side actually chose to Retreat.

The mission was completed in such a muddled way.

”Sure enough, having item cards is so useful.”

Shi Li knew that this was still thanks to the Red Blade Maiden.

He felt that the difficulty of the Star Ascension missions for the two unique cards was similar, but the Red Blade Maiden’s side took about 10 tries to get the first clear.

The Jumping Guardian here succeeded on the first try, all thanks to Dimensional Intervention.

Of course, Shi Li didn’t intend to stop after just one Strategy.

His goal was not simple completion, but 100% completion.

”You have completed this simulation, with a completion rate of 61%.”

”You can obtain character card [Jumping Guard (Two-star)] x1.”

”Yes/No to spend 2500 cubic coins to reset this mission.”

”I knew it, the price went up again.”

Compared to the last refresh fee, this time it was an extra 500 cubic coins.

With Shi Li’s current assets, he could only refresh 13 times.

Moreover, the low completion rate resulted in the card only gaining 1 additional trait slot after Star Ascension.

”I understand, to achieve 100% completion in this mission, I probably need to wipe out the entire tomb raider team, not letting a single one escape.”

Reviewing what he had missed, Shi Li quickly discovered the correct way to clear the stage.

After refreshing a few times like this, his mental energy was depleted, and he could only rest temporarily...
