Pillar of Yita

The group didn’t understand what had exactly happened below until they entered the valley. It turned out that when they had met with the legendary giant dragon, Toragotos had also used magic to create a clone of himself, announcing the rewards for this trial to everyone in the valley.

The reward was a batch of Grade A Magic Guided Conductors—the Tirio Dragon Crossbows, which Toragotos had placed at the endpoint on the seventh underground level.

No wonder this news drove everyone crazy.

Fang Hong could hardly believe his own ears.

The Tirio Dragon Crossbow, with its ultra-long range and armor-piercing attributes, was the best Magic Guided Crossbow under level 25 apart from legendary equipment. But in Eteliria, the making of dragon crossbows was a closely guarded secret of Dwarf alchemy, and apart from the Golden Beard Shooters who were equipped with these heavy crossbows on a large scale, the Tirio Dragon Crossbows were extremely rare outside of Eldron.

Moreover, setting aside this point, even ordinary Grade A equipment was worth a fortune per piece, let alone a batch. They asked several times to confirm they hadn’t heard wrong, that the legendary giant dragon had indeed said a batch, not a piece.

Fang Hong and the others couldn’t help but look at each other.

A batch of above Grade A quality Tirio Dragon Crossbows could even arm an elite Crossbowman Corps for a guild like the Blood Oath Alliance, and their combat power could be considered half a brigade within the rank of third-order Invokers—how could anyone resist such a temptation?

Not to mention individuals or Adventure Groups, even the Grand Guild couldn’t resist it. Moreover, the implication behind this reward was even richer. As is well known, the Dragon’s Nest Land underground was divided into fifteen levels, and in the past years, Toragotos only awarded adventurers who reached below the twelfth level.

The seventh level was the first checkpoint of this underground relic because before reaching the seventh level, only the illusions and construct servants set by the Green Dragon Meijeli were in the relic—reaching the seventh level meant successfully passing the Trainee trial. Only Invokers who passed this level could receive an experience reward.

Below the seventh level, the real enemies within the relic would appear, the Night Lizard People living in the dark underground, various strange creatures, and magic creatures, according to other participants the difficulty below and above the seventh level was not on the same scale.

Therefore, below the seventh level, Toragotos gave small prizes on each level, usually Experience Potions, occasionally a gemstone or something—if at all. Generally speaking, the value of the rewards wouldn’t exceed the cost of consumables and entry fees that the Invokers had spent during the process.

This legendary dragon’s reputation for stinginess thus spread far, as if its incredible accumulation of wealth was sourced from these trials. But what everyone least expected was that this old dragon suddenly became generous once, if the rewards for the seventh level were so generous, then what about below that?

The twelfth level? The fifteenth level?

One couldn’t help but speculate endlessly.

Only then did Fang Hong realize the meaning of Sophie’s words in the hall, a batch of Grade A quality Tirio Dragon Crossbows might not be worth Silver Weslan mobilizing for, but the foreseeable rich rewards below the seventh level was enough for them to spare no cost.

Not to mention others, even he, who knew the cause and effect of the matter, was greatly tempted. If they sold this batch of Tirio Dragon Crossbows, they would have their ship’s startup capital. Parker, standing beside him, was even wide-eyed, ”Then what am I waiting for?” the Papalarian exclaimed loudly, ”Even the gods would be shocked by such dallying! Hurry, it’s already too late, we need to catch up with the others immediately!”

”Wait a minute.” But Fang Hong appeared unusually calm as he glanced in the direction of the valley and responded in this manner.

He remembered this guy originally said otherwise, claiming to avoid trials, their Papalarian once declared that he could not enter enclosed spaces. Of course, now, these problems seemed to have healed themselves, or perhaps they had never existed.

Atira nodded lightly, keeping calm at critical moments was an essential quality of an excellent leader.

This moment, the valley was in chaos, the cause was quite simple, just like the usual actions of all Grand Guilds, when the gates to the underground trial opened, the people from Blood Oath Alliance cleared the trial square and blocked the valley to prevent others from entering.

But the adventurers couldn’t just swallow this provocation, leading to a huge battle within the valley. Though the adventurers were numerous, they were disorganized, some even stirred the waters to fish, killing for profit. In contrast, although there were not many people left on the side of the Blood Oath Alliance, they were almost all elite, including two brigades, therefore they quickly gained the upper hand.

The current situation was, apart from those professional ’hyenas’ who randomly killed people to pick up equipment, the battling parties were actually at a stalemate in the middle of the valley, where there was a simple marketplace, both sides were battling over it.

Fang Hong looked up at the apparition of Toragotos in the distant sky, who in this magic illusion was not as frail as in the palace at the mountain top but as imposing as usual.

But right now, was there the peace of the past in Saint Peru Valley or even a hint of the Safe Zone? The old dragon silently watched the ongoing slaughter in the valley, seemingly indifferent, allowing the bloodshed to continue unimpeded.

Seeing this scene, he couldn’t help feeling a sigh, thinking that in Eteliria every creature that lived long enough should not be underestimated—right now, the old dragon hardly looked benign; instead, it stood there more like a chilling embodiment of death.
