Pillar of Yita

After a while, she responded faintly, ”To destroy the Ritual Sword, someone must sacrifice themselves.”

”The Ritual Sword?” Seeing signs that Hes was about to cry again, Fang Hong didn’t dare ask further and simply noted the name. Although he thought to himself that as a Summoner, Hudi might not be beyond saving even in the direst of situations, for some reason, he suddenly thought of Miss Atira’s brother at that moment.

The young man named Kid—

Then he naturally closed his mouth, sensing that there was something more complex behind this. But if the Dark Giant Dragon could truly destroy a person’s Starlight, why hadn’t history recorded it at all?

Fang Hong suddenly stopped walking.

He looked around alertly, and then asked awkwardly, looking back, ”Did you hear something, Hes?”

The girl paused, then shook her head, ”No, Mr. Ade.”

”But the problem is,” Fang Hong had been questioning earlier, now he began to perceive something was amiss, ”We’ve been walking around this stable for quite a while now, why haven’t we gotten out yet? Is this really the stable of Hustings Cathedral?”

He looked up and around, and faintly felt that this narrow space had one room leading to another.

It didn’t look like a stable, but more like a labyrinth.

And at the mention of the word ’labyrinth,’ Fang Hong felt a slight jolt in his heart and quickly sent a message: ”Red Leaf, have you found the place?”

The Summoners System flashed, and the response was swift—

Red Leaf: ”No, Ade, this place seems a bit strange. When I was looking from outside, it didn’t seem this big at all, either that or I have been walking in circles without finding the right path.”

Fang Hong thought for a moment and simply typed: ”Be careful, it might not be that simple here.”

He looked up.

Hes also seemed a bit nervous, speaking softly, ”Mr. Ade, I’m sorry, I haven’t been to this place before either. That person told me not to come here easily, if it weren’t for Hudi...”

”That person?”

Fang Hong suddenly stopped.

In the darkness, a rustling sound came, like many things slithering closer from afar. The sound was so clear in the narrow space, hair-raising, and even a brave man like him couldn’t help but have his scalp tingle, quickly commanding a Type III Walker to step forward and shield him.

Hes also turned pale and hid fearfully behind him.

After a moment, Fang Hong could see what was rolling toward them.

It was a blood-drenched human head—its mouth wide open, a purple tongue gruesomely hanging down to the ground, eyes white, with blood ceaselessly seeping from the nostrils, ear canals, and beneath the eye sockets, presenting a ghastly sight.

Below the neck of the head, there was no flesh, just a bare spine still covered with bloodstains, as if it was just pulled out of a body.

It relied on this spine, coiling like some cold-blooded animal on the ground, staring motionlessly at the two with its pale eyeballs.

Seeing this, Fang Hong felt his hair stand on end.

What in the world was this thing?

Was this an Undead?

”Ah—” Seeing this object, Hes cried out softly as she stepped back. But after a moment, she let out an even more shrill scream: ”Behind, behind too, Mr. Ade!”

Fang Hong turned back with a pale face, only to see not just behind, but from the ceiling, from gaps in the walls on the west side, these ghastly things were literally swarming in like reptiles from all directions.

And their shapes were not limited to those of snakes.

They resembled various insects and arthropods with twisted forms, in all shapes and even some flying through the air.

The first human head to appear launched an attack, screeching hoarsely as it lunged at Fang Hong.

Fang Hong, without thinking, swung his hand, and a sword light in the darkness, the ’Sword Bearer’ struck the human head with a backhand blow.

With a sound like a sharp knife cutting through flesh, the human head burst open like a blood bag, foul-smelling blood splattering everywhere, and the split head dropped to the ground like rotting flesh.

Fang Hong paused for a moment then quickly checked the system record—only then did he discover that this creature’s Level was not high, just a mere seven, but its name was extremely disgusting, called a Blight Priest.

At that moment, an idea flashed in his mind.

He suddenly realized what these creatures were.

Blood sacrifices—

These were the living sacrifices used by the Dragon Worshippers, Holite Academy indeed was a front for the Dragon Worshippers, these fanatics under such a guise were conducting some unspeakably cruel acts beneath this cathedral.

Thinking of the dream Tianlan described and looking at these nauseating monsters, Fang Hong couldn’t help but feel revolted.

But his heart was even more disgusted.

These creatures were not traditional Undead; in fact, they were Blight Objects, foul evil creations by those madmen, and legend had it that these things were only related to the mysterious master behind them.

The legendary calamities.
