A New Life in Fairy Tail

I should go ask her younger brother and sister what they think. In this situation, her family’s opinion is extremely important.

”Then I’ll leave it to you.”

”Mhm, I’ll go over now.”

Noah left the counter and found the two white-haired siblings who were in the middle of brawling with Natsu. The moment Natsu saw Noah approaching, he charged over.

”Noah! Let’s settle this!”

”Idiot!” Gray muttered instinctively.

Just as he said it, Noah sent Natsu flying to the ground with a single punch, knocking him out cold. The two white-haired siblings, who were completely terrified by this, huddled together, trembling.

”You two are new members, right? What are your names?” Noah asked them.

The younger girl seemed a bit braver. She stood in front of the boy and said, her voice shaking, ”I... I’m Lisanna. This is my brother... Elfman.”

”You don’t need to be so scared. My name is Noah, I’m also a member of this guild.”

”Noah’s a really good guy,” Gray said to them. ”He only hits Natsu because Natsu’s an idiot.”

Natsu, who had just climbed up from the floor, immediately charged at Gray. ”Who are you calling an idiot!”

”I’m calling you an idiot, squinty-eyes!”

”You droopy-eyed bastard!”

The two butted heads, neither giving an inch, and then started fighting.

”They’re at it again,” Noah said to Elfman and Lisanna. ”Let’s ignore them. Come over here. I want to talk to you about something.”

Still trembling slightly, the two of them followed Noah to the side. Noah glanced at the cloaked girl by the counter. ”That’s your older sister, right? She doesn’t look like she’s doing too well.”

”Mhm. Our sister is named Mirajane. We’re really worried about her.” At the mention of their sister, Lisanna and Elfman forgot their fear. They both looked down, their moods sinking.

”Did something happen to you all?” Noah asked gently. ”If you tell me, maybe I can help.”

”Really?” Lisanna’s head snapped up. She stared at Noah, her eyes shining with expectation.

Noah smiled. ”I’ll have to hear what you have to say before I know how I can help.”

”Mhm. It was like this...”

As it turned out, Mirajane, Lisanna, and Elfman had lived in a small village, and their lives had been very peaceful. But one day, a demon appeared and started rampaging in their village church. The villagers were terrified; everyone just pushed each other, backing away, and no one dared to step forward and drive it away.

Mirajane, to protect her younger brother and sister, went up to fight it. In the process, her Take Over magic instinctively awakened, and she ”received” the demon. Because it was her first time using the magic and she wasn’t skilled with it, her arm remained stuck in its demonic form, unable to change back.

When the villagers saw Mirajane like that, they grabbed their hoes, shovels, and other farming tools and surrounded their house, shouting.

”Get out!”

”Get out of our village!”

”The demon-possessed monster!”

”A cursed family!”

”As long as you’re in the village, our misfortunes will never end!”

”How long do you plan to stay here?!”

”Get out, demon!”

Lisanna couldn’t understand it. It was her sister who had subdued the demon rampaging in the church, her sister who had saved the village. Why were the villagers treating them this way? It wasn’t her sister’s fault that she had been possessed after killing the demon. The villagers were too cruel!

In the end, it was Mirajane, as the older sister, who decided they should leave the village, because they could no longer stay there. After leaving, the three of them began to wander aimlessly.

This incident had a huge impact on Mirajane. Whenever they met strangers on the road, if she accidentally revealed the demonic arm beneath her cloak, people would always look at her with fear before hurrying away. Although she always tried to put on a brave face for her brother and sister, Lisanna and Elfman often heard her crying secretly at night, which made them incredibly sad as well.

By chance, the three of them arrived in Magnolia and immediately saw Fairy Tail at the end of the road. With a sense of curiosity, they went to the guild and happened to meet Makarov, who was just returning.

Makarov invited them inside. Wanting to find a solution to her problem, Mirajane showed Makarov her arm and told him what had happened. With his vast knowledge of magic, Makarov knew the cause just from hearing their story and seeing her arm.

”That’s called Take Over. It’s a type of magic. You’re not possessed by a demon; its power is just dwelling inside you.”

Mirajane didn’t say much after hearing this. Although she and her siblings had joined the guild, she had remained all alone at the counter ever since, not speaking to anyone. Lisanna and Elfman saw this and were sick with worry, but they didn’t know what to do.

”...And that’s what happened,” Lisanna finished their story, looking at Noah with great expectation. Elfman didn’t say anything, but he was also staring at him, clearly hoping for an answer.

”After hearing your story, I don’t think this should be too difficult,” Noah said.

”Really?”

”Take Over is just a type of magic; it’s not evil, just an ordinary spell. But your sister’s talent is either too high or rather unique, which is why she was able to receive a demon. Demons naturally give people a bad feeling. And since your sister wasn’t met with understanding from the people around her after awakening her magic, she is now strongly rejecting this power. Only by truly accepting her own magic can she control it freely and change her arm back to normal. The key right now is figuring out how to get your sister to accept her Take Over magic.”

”Then what should we do?”

”That’s up to you. You are her family. Only you will know how to get her to accept it.”

”I see...” Lisanna and Elfman began to think hard. Finally, a spark lit up in Lisanna’s eyes.

”We can use the same magic as her! That way, she won’t be alone! And she’ll be able to accept her own magic!”

When Elfman heard this, he nodded in enthusiastic agreement. ”Can you teach us Take Over magic? Or is there someone else in the guild who knows it?”

”Since you’ve found a solution, that’s good. I can teach you Take Over magic. You should be able to learn it quickly.”

”Alright! We’re going to use the same magic as Mira-nee!”

Lisanna and Elfman looked at each other and smiled, both of them incredibly happy.
