Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Undead Necropolis Unlocked!

Time flew by like a fleeting horse passing through a gap; in the blink of an eye, five days had passed.

At this moment, Serea’s camp had undergone a dramatic transformation. The walls and houses had been completed, various basic facilities were fully established, and Serea stood at the main gate, welcoming the hunting team’s return.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Little White and Little Black led people in tossing one jungle monster corpse after another to the ground, including various large monsters and wild beasts.

”A bountiful harvest! A truly bountiful harvest!”

Seeing the game brought back by the hunting team, Serea rubbed her hands with glee.

Although the blizzard had not completely ended, it didn’t affect Serea’s hunting and development. Speaking of development, one had to mention a few things that had happened in these peaceful five days...

Avril had already returned to the Otto Kingdom’s Xiyun Merchant Guild branch, preparing for the next round of trade. The ”trade station” on the jungle edge, operated by the merchant guild, had also begun construction, reportedly after Avril purchased and remodeled the fox tribe’s camp.

Having money was really a blessing...

Leon and the others successfully settled in the border city of Otto Kingdom, sedis City, with Morlock’s help, and continuously operated there as members of the White Blade Mercenary Group, gathering intelligence about the city during this period.

For example, they learned which major nobles lived in the city, which powers existed, and whether there were any threats, and so forth.

However, they never managed to find any trace of Black Hat; not even a shadow, as if he had disappeared from the face of the earth.

Similarly, maregof had been very quiet lately, though whether he was truly quiet behind the scenes was anyone’s guess...

Regarding Black Hat, Serea didn’t insist on catching him at all costs. It was enough for Leon and the others to keep watch and ensure he didn’t cause any more trouble.

With Leon’s group settled, let’s look at Serea’s situation.

Apart from the occasional small groups of zombies, Serea hadn’t encountered any real trouble. In fact, the appearance of zombies finally gave Serea a way to obtain Death Crystals.

Of course, these past days hadn’t just yielded Death Crystals. Through hunting, Serea had also accumulated a fair amount of other materials.

With these materials, Serea had to start planning further camp construction, such as the ”Blood Forge Platform,” or upgrading the Death Altar to level two, and so on...

Blood Absorption, Soul Harvest.

After extracting materials from the hunted creatures, Serea did not discard the bodies, as these corpses would still be useful.

Undead Necropolis: Death Altar ”Undead Route” level two building. Prerequisite: Plague Graveyard: Undead (construct graves, bury 100 corpses, area of 1,000 square meters). Unlock requires 500 Death Crystals. Further building unlock costs reduced by 80% after unlocking.

Undead Ritual Platform: Death Altar ”Destruction Route” level two building. Prerequisite: Plague Graveyard: Destruction (construct an altar, bury at least 50 corpses, area of 800 square meters),...

Opening the Death Altar’s construction routes, two unlockable buildings came into view.

Currently, Serea’s material count was...

Blood Crystal: 475

Fear Crystal: 42

Death Crystal: 812

Soul Crystal: 178

Because of the roaming zombies, Serea had spent the past few days wandering the eastern jungle with her people. Wherever there were zombies, they would go, hunting tirelessly to collect 812 Death Crystals, and gained a fair amount of the other crystals as well.

What? You’re asking why there are so few Fear Crystals and Soul Crystals?

Ahem, don’t ask. If you ask, it was thrown away (for gacha draws).

There was no helping it—unlocking a level three building required a construction voucher, and ambitious Serea thought she could take a gamble. A 0.5% chance wasn’t impossible, right?

But... she overestimated her luck...

Still, it wasn’t all in vain—at least she and Celia had leveled up by one after consuming experience gems, but just thinking about those experience gems brought tears to her eyes.

But that’s all in the past; right now, she had to carefully consider whether the ”Undead Necropolis” or the ”Undead Ritual Platform” was better.

The former’s overwhelming numbers strategy was invincible, fully boosting the Skeleton Warriors’ strength and granting access to level two Undead units. The latter followed an elite approach, allowing the creation of even more powerful elite Undead units.

Which should she choose...?

”I have a question for all of you. To win a battle, is it better to have more high-level combat strength, or should you improve the average strength of the soldiers?”

Serea asked the crowd gathered around her, and hearing her question, everyone looked at each other.

”While the outcome of small-scale battles can often be swayed by individual prowess, larger-scale wars require all soldiers to work as one. So I lean toward the latter,”

Lola said. Hearing this, Vina and Doluka both nodded.

”That’s true, but if you can completely overwhelm the enemy in high-end combat strength, the soldiers would have a much easier time,”

Maro offered his opinion, favoring powerful high-end combat units.

Both sides presented different opinions and began to discuss, but one person stood out as particularly strange.

”Leklis, what do you think?”

Serea directly called on him. Upon hearing this, leklis, who had been grinning foolishly, was startled out of his daze.

”Ah? Wha... what?”

”I gave you a day off yesterday, and ever since you came back from Julie’s you’ve been grinning like an idiot. Did something pleasant happen?”

Serea asked, and everyone turned as one to look at him. Seeing this, leklis scratched his head a little embarrassedly.

”Uh... N-no, nothing really.”

”Then get serious.”

”Okay.”

”I’m asking you, regarding your skeletons, do you want your skeletons to become stronger, or do you want more underworld Undead?”

”Of course, I want more underworld Undead.”

”What if the question was directed at me?”

”Then, my lady, you should pick the former.”

”Why?”

Serea asked. When it came to undead minions, leklis had the most authority, so Serea wanted his input.

”It’s quite simple. True strength depends on how high your weakest point is. My weakness is not having enough underworld Undead, but it’s different for you, My Queen. You already have so many underworld Undead under your command, so the skeletons’ weakness has become your shortcoming.”

”I think you make a lot of sense.”

After saying this, Serea faced the two already expanded graveyards. She walked up to the completed ”Plague Graveyard: Undead.”

”Upgrade the building ’Plague Graveyard: Undead.’”

System: Do you wish to spend 500 Death Crystals to unlock ’Undead Necropolis,’ upgrading Plague Graveyard: Undead to Undead Necropolis?

”Yes.”

System: Unlocking, please wait...

Five hundred Death Crystals were consumed in a surge of death energy, which enveloped the tombstones and dyed them black, turning the soil itself jet-black as well.
