Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Preparations for Level 2 Buildings

Early the next morning, Serea woke up groggily. However, Lola and the others were not waiting by her bedside, and she didn’t put on airs—she simply got dressed and got up on her own.

But just as she rose, Lola rushed in from outside and blurted out as soon as she entered:

”Bad news, queen Serea, auna is missing!”

”Huh?”

Serea was stunned, but seeing the anxious look on Lola’s face, she roughly understood—apparently Auna had sneaked out last night, so...

”So noisy...”

Auna sat up, rubbing her eyes. Seeing the sleepy Auna on the bed, it was now Lola’s turn to be dumbfounded.

”Eh?”

Then Aruka’s voice came from outside.

”How is it? Has Queen Serea woken up?”

”Uh... she’s awake,”

Lola replied. Then Aruka, speaking as he entered, rushed in with Avril.

”That’s great! Your Majesty, could you have your Undead followers help me look for Auna, she—”

The two rushed in, making eye contact with Auna. They stared at each other for a full ten seconds.

”Mom, dad, you...”

Auna called out. Aruka and Avril rushed to the bedside and simultaneously pulled Auna into their arms.

”Thank goodness, we’ve finally found you.”

Avril spoke emotionally, while the stern Aruka scolded:

”Next time, can’t you tell us before going somewhere else? Do you know how worried we were?”

As Aruka spoke, Serea interjected.

”Aruka, it’s not your place to scold Auna. You should know, all this was caused by you and your wife in the first place.”

”We...”

”So, let’s not engage in meaningless arguments anymore. Think of it as doing what’s best for Auna.”

As Serea said this, she had expected Aruka to fall silent and Avril to show that look of sadness. But in reality...

”Yes, queen Serea, your admonition is right. I’ll remember it and won’t do it again.”

”Me too.”

The two promised, still holding Auna tightly. Seeing this, Serea wore a puzzled expression.

What was going on? Yesterday, it seemed like there was deep resentment between them, but today they were back to being a loving couple?

Serea pondered this. Then, noticing the faint red mark, a ”strawberry,” on Avril’s neck, her mind turned, and Serea’s face flushed reddening a bit.

As expected—for couples, no matter how great the hatred, it’s just ”fight at the head of the bed and make up at the foot.”

There’s nothing that can’t be resolved with a ’round in bed’—er, a good night’s sleep.

But looking at Aruka and Avril’s body sizes...

Ahem, perhaps women in love truly are the greatest.

”Mom! Dad!”

Hearing their promises, auna’s eyes turned red, as if it were all a dream.

”My good girl...”

Avril stroked Auna’s hair and ears, to which Auna wore an expression of sheer enjoyment.

”We thank the Queen for her guidance. We’ll remember this lesson well.”

”Good, that’s how it should be.”

Aruka said, and Serea nodded in satisfaction. Then, noticing Aruka was fully equipped in heavy leather armor, as if ready to go out, she asked,

”Heading out to hunt so early?”

”No, since it’s still snowing, it’s not good weather for hunting.”

”Then you’re—”

”Avril has some goods that need to be delivered, so I planned to personally escort her.”

As Aruka said this, he scratched his head bashfully. This ever-worried-for-Avril version of Aruka was the real one in Serea’s eyes.

”I’m going too!”

At this, auna announced. Aruka hesitated, but Avril agreed at once.

”Alright, auna can come as well.”

Seeing the family of three decide to go out for a walk, Serea had no reason to refuse.

”Then I’ll ask Chief Aruka to lead your tribespeople and help escort the Xiyun Merchant Guild caravan. I’ll have the Black Knight lead the Skeleton Cavalry to accompany you as well.”

”Leave it to us.”

”Thank you, Your Majesty.”

Having agreed, Aruka and Avril took Auna back to make preparations, leaving Serea and her elf handmaidens.

”Wonderful, the old Aruka and Avril have returned!”

”Auna must be really happy,” said Lola and Vina, but Celia was more concerned about—

”Why did Auna come to you in the middle of the night?”

”This... it’s not something I can explain in a sentence or two.”

”Tch.”

Celia made a face of disdain.

Enduring Celia’s scorn, the group left the tree hollow.

As soon as Serea stepped outside, she saw a world of white. From her elevated vantage, every inch of the jungle within sight was covered in thick snow, and the snowfall had not stopped—flakes continued fluttering down.

”Hiss... so cold.”

Serea shivered, the biting cold compelling her to return indoors for something warmer to wear. Just then, a thick leather cloak was thrown onto her.

”Check the weather before you go out.”

It was Celia who tossed the cloak. Wrapped in the hide cloak, both Serea’s body and heart felt warmer.

”Thank you.”

Celia didn’t reply, and Serea turned to ask Lola,

”By the way, are all the wooden houses in the village finished?”

”Yes, the first batch is completed and everyone’s moved in. But since there aren’t many houses, it’s still a bit crowded.”

”As long as everyone has a house to live in. What about the Blood Well?”

”After working through the night, it’s done as well.”

”That’s great. Let’s get to summoning the Blood Well right away.”

”Yes!”

Upon hearing Serea would summon the Blood Well, Lola’s face filled with excitement.

Descending from the elf king tree to its base, there was a giant tree hollow below. The spacious tree hollow was usually used for cultivating ”seeds,” but now, a neat stone building had appeared at the bottom.

The Blood Well!

As for why the Blood Well had appeared in the tree hollow at the base of the elf king tree...

Serea hadn’t expected the roots of the elf king tree to spread so quickly. Fortunately, the Blood Well wasn’t damaged. Instead, it had been protected by the elf king tree inside the hollow—a beautiful accident, really.

Walking behind the Blood Well, Serea saw a small patch of reserved earth, and naturally knew what it was for.

She took out the pre-prepared ”Tree of Purification seed,” planted it, and infused it with the power of nature. A seedling broke through the earth, but it didn’t continue to grow. According to Lola’s explanation, this was the mature stage for the Tree of Purification.

Guided by the seedling, spring water flowed along the dug springhead, sweet water gushing from a spout on the third tier of the Blood Well—a mass of faint green, crystal-clear spring water.

Spring of Life!

This was the use of the Tree of Purification: purifying and creating the Spring of Life.

”With this, everything is ready.”

As Serea spoke, she took out a red gemstone from her spatial ring. This was the core of the Blood Well, and with it, Serea could rapidly summon the Blood Well.

The method was simple: holding the Blood Stone, she reached into the bottom of the pool, slotting it into a waiting groove.

As the Blood Stone was embedded, a phenomenon erupted.

Looking at the Blood Well being summoned once more, Serea thought:

With this, the construction of Level 2 buildings could be unlocked.
