Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

As Expected of Your Disciple

She looked around, comparing combat strength. Not to mention anything else, just those fifty underworld Undead alone could thoroughly crush the two hundred-plus zombies and skeletons under her command, and although she did have the powerful high-tier Undead, the ”Black Knight,” the other side had four of them.

So...

Park directly dropped to his knees. Seeing this, everyone on the wall was stunned.

”I surrender. Please don’t harm me or my teacher. According to the Church’s agreement, as the victor, you may take away our undead minions, but you cannot harm us.”

What happened to the resolve to sacrifice yourself to save your ”teacher”?

”Weren’t you just saying you would rescue your teacher no matter what? Why are you surrendering now?”

”If you were in my place, you’d surrender too...”

As Park spoke, Serea felt like this line sounded very familiar. She turned to look at Leklis.

”It seems he really is your personal disciple.”

”...”

...

Ten minutes later, in the camp’s square, leklis and Park were kneeling straight in front of Serea. By their sides stood the towering Black Knight, and the Undead they’d brought all obediently stood within the encirclement of Serea’s underworld Undead.

Forced to kneel here and reflect in front of so many people, leklis felt that all his dignity as a Preacher of the Church of Death was gone.

Seeing his teacher keeping a stern face, Park spoke softly.

”I... I’m sorry, teacher, I shouldn’t have come to rescue you.”

Park’s words nearly choked Leklis to death.

”Is that something a person should say?!”

”No, no, no, I didn’t mean it that way. I mean I shouldn’t have recklessly come to save you.”

”All my life’s efforts! Why was I so stupid as to teach you how to control the Black Knight?”

”Teacher, I was wrong.”

”You know you were wrong?”

”I do, so when you punish me, can you be a bit gentler?”

”Gentler? I wish I could beat you to death!”

Leklis shouted, voice rising with his anger, which reached Serea’s ears. She smiled with an edge of displeasure and spoke.

”I told you both to kneel and reflect—why are you chatting?”

”Uh... I’m sorry.”

Seeing Serea looking at him, leklis’s anger was instantly extinguished. Meeting Serea’s gaze, he became obedient to the extreme.

”You know you were wrong?”

”I do, so when giving out punishment, can you be a bit gentler?”

”Don’t worry, I’m not some great villain. Look, there’s so much land in the camp that hasn’t been leveled properly, and now that you’ve brought me an extra hand, the two of you can take turns working, 24 hours a day, until it’s all leveled. Then we’ll talk further.”

”This...”

”Is there a problem?”

”N-no problem...”

Leklis ”readily” accepted.

”Alright then, since you’ve accepted punishment, I won’t hold the attack on the camp against you anymore. Get up, I have a few questions for you.”

”Yes, Ma’am.”

Leklis and Park stood up. Serea pointed at Park and asked,

”He’s also from your Church of Death?”

”Yes.”

”Besides you two, how many others are there?”

”Eh... If you mean all of us...”

”Yes.”

”Tw-twenty...”

”Twenty?!”

Serea was a little surprised. She hadn’t expected that a single branch chapel of the Church of Death would have so many people.

”Are they all undead mages?”

”No, besides me, the others are all mage apprentices like Park.”

”I see...”

Hearing this, Serea let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, it was only twenty mage apprentices. If there were twenty undead mages, it really would have been troublesome for her to handle.

But it also made Serea more vigilant. A Park attacked today—what if another Park comes tomorrow?

Although this boy named ”Park” was quite stupid, after all, they were undead mages. If more come looking for ”Leklis,” what would she do? Serea didn’t believe every new arrival would be as easy to deal with as Park.

So it would be best to eliminate all future threats. But so many undead mages, even as apprentices, were quite useful. If she could use them well, maybe...

”Remember what I said before? If your Church of Death wanted to stay here, you’d have to help me with some ’small tasks.’”

”Wasn’t it just ’a’ small task?”

Screee!

The sound of Little Black sharpening claws echoed. Hearing this, leklis swallowed hard.

”Your Majesty, just give your orders. Leklis is willing to do anything for you!”

”No need to be that dramatic. I just want to see your ’undead apprentices.’ If possible, I would like to hire a few to work for me.”

”Uh... Are you sure you want to hire them?”

”Of course.”

”But they’re too young, I’m afraid—”

Screee!

Hearing that strange sound, leklis immediately changed his tune.

”No problem, shall I gather them now?”

”No need. You can just take me to them. I’d like to see this ’chapel’ you mentioned as well.”

”Yes, Ma’am, then let’s—”

”Tomorrow. It’s too late today.”

”Yes, Ma’am.”

Leklis agreed, and then Serea waved her hand.

”Alright, you two get to work. Starting tomorrow, I don’t want to see any of my skeletons standing idle.”

Serea said with a smile. Hearing her, both of their faces fell.

Working 24 hours a day...

The two left, but their Undead remained, including the Black Knight.

Seeing this, Serea went straight into her consciousness space.

”System, convert 100 soul crystals and give me ten experience gems.”

As she wished, Serea received ten experience gems and one potion.

This time, luck was pretty good. One of the ten experience gems was tier two, so after using them, Serea’s level successfully reached level 22, which meant she could now control one more undead minion.

Back in reality, looking at the towering Black Knight, Serea excitedly rubbed her hands together.

”From now on, I’m your new master. Is that alright?”

”My master has entrusted me to you, but I only serve the strong.”

Leklis had trained the Black Knight extremely well—even granting it sentience.

”Don’t worry, I’ll meet your standards for ’the strong.’ Just wait and see.”

After saying that, Serea used Resurrect on the Black Knight.

Since Leklis had already given up the struggle for control, Serea easily brought the Black Knight into her direct group of undead minions.

”Alright, now that you are my undead minion, I’ll leave these guys under your command.”

With that, twelve Skeleton Cavalry rode their bone steeds over in perfect formation. Seeing those Skeleton Cavalry, the blue soul flames in the Black Knight’s eyes paused for a moment in surprise.

”I believe you’ll make a fine commander.”

Serea said. Seeing her hand over a cavalry squad composed entirely of pure underworld Undead, the Black Knight temporarily put aside his pride and replied,

”As you wish.”
