Berserk God of War

This battle raged on for a full month.

The whole battlefield was a river of blood, countless experts fell and died upon it.

Only after Heavenly Dao Sacred Land and several other super major sects started showing all kinds of unusual movements did Overlord Commerce and Qianwang Holy Tower finally find it hard to hold on and temporarily pull back their troops, and things began to gradually calm down.

After all, many people from top sects on both sides no longer had such intense Battle Intent.

Now both sides wanted to rest and recuperate first; if they kept fighting both would be ruined, letting Heavenly Dao Sacred Land and the others reap the fisherman’s profit.

In the end, Pei Kuang retreated back to Qianwang Holy Tower, and Murong Jianyun and the others also temporarily withdrew back to Overlord City.

But the main forces of both sides were still pressing down on the territory between them, and they could restart the war at any moment...

As for Sikong Jing, Overlord Commerce never waited for his appearance.

Over an entire month had passed; countless people on both sides were spreading word that Little Demon Sikong was truly dead, saying that back then, in order to let everyone break out, he and Thunderstorm Roar Beast detonated the Great Array of Qianwang Holy City and were blasted to smithereens.

Only Murong Jianyun and other core figures of Overlord knew clearly that Sikong Jing was still alive, and were a hundred percent certain.

Do not forget, Murong Jianyun had Sikong Jing’s Life Lamp in his hand.

But Murong Jianyun did not make this matter public; he only informed those who needed to be informed.

That is, besides the higher-ups of Overlord Commerce, people like Old Xiu and Su Yue Immortal, and Yao Yulou and the others knew.

Yet even so, everyone was still extremely, extremely worried...

Sikong Jing might not be dead, but he was missing; that meant he was very likely still in extreme danger.

He could very well be together with the human-shaped beast, or perhaps he had died trapped within the territory of Qianwang Holy Tower...

As of now, there was likewise no news at all about the human-shaped beast.

No one knew whether it was dead or alive, and even fewer knew whether it had already been Demonized too deeply and exploded and died; there were rumors that its figure had been seen in the North Central Plains.

But that was more than a month ago, and no one knew whether it was true or false.

And no one knew what kind of being the human-shaped beast was, or where it had come from; some said it was cultivated by Su Old Demon within the One Claw Domain, some said it came from Canghai Wujiang.

There were even those who said that Little Demon Sikong was actually also someone from Canghai Wujiang, so the human-shaped beast was brought in by him.

All kinds of rumors were flying, impossible to verify.

...

Desert Sea Absolute Array, on a certain island in the boundless Canghai, inside a thatched hut, a sudden cry of shock rang out.

”Yue Xi, don’t do anything stupid, I’m still alive.”

Sikong Jing used up all his strength to sit up, then his hazy eyes froze; what entered his sight was an extremely simple room, and he was half sitting on an equally simple thatch mat.

This situation, this scene, felt so familiar; Sikong Jing couldn’t help but mutter to himself...

”Could it be, I’m still in a dream?”

”Or have I already died? Have I returned to the Su Family pig farm where I first met Yue Xi?”

Indeed, the scene before his eyes was far too similar to when he first met Su Yuexi.

A thatched hut, a thatch mat, and a strong medicinal smell permeating the surroundings, and of course a body so weak it was at the extreme.

At this moment, Sikong Jing suddenly felt very confused, unable to tell whether this was an illusion, a dream, or Hell.

Just now he had been having a dream—in the dream Su Yuexi stood at the edge of Canghai, then tragically threw herself into the Desert Sea Absolute Array.

That silhouette made his whole body go cold, driving him to sit up in madness...

Suddenly, in the midst of his confusion, Sikong Jing saw his own hands, and his pupils shrank violently.

Scales that were pitch-black with a strange and mysterious ghostly blue sheen completely covered his hands—these were the Demon Scales that had not receded after his Demonization; he lowered his head to look over his whole body and his pupils shrank again.

From head to toe, not a single spot was free of those terrifying Demon Scales.

However, the fleshy wings on his back were gone, and his hands were no longer in the shape of claws but normal human hands.

Withdrawing his gaze from examining his body, Sikong Jing looked again at the furnishings of the small hut, and sobered slightly: ”This isn’t a dream, nor is it some return to the Su Family pig farm. This is another little thatched hut... And where am I?”

By now Sikong Jing could clearly see that this small hut was different from the one at the Su Family pig farm back then.

He began to recall; in his mind it was still the scene of being blasted down into the sea by the Desert Sea Absolute Array, then being surrounded by swimming fish.

After that, he couldn’t remember anything...

”No, it seems there was a group of strange black fish that carried me as they swam.”

Sikong Jing muttered again; he seemed to recall some vague scene, but his head immediately felt as if it would split apart.

Creak...

All of a sudden, the sound of a door opening came from the little hut; a graceful figure walked in from outside, carrying a bowl of medicinal decoction.

This scene once again almost made Sikong Jing think he had returned to the Su Family pig farm.

However, when he saw the graceful figure who came in, he was directly stunned. The one who entered was a young girl who looked about the same age as his younger sister Sikong Ling; she wore coarse cloth clothes full of patches.

At the same time, the young girl who came in also saw Sikong Jing sitting on the thatch mat, and she cried out in delight, ”You’re awake?”

She carried the medicinal decoction and quickly stepped forward...

Then she set the medicine down to the side and asked softly, ”Are you all right? Your head is covered in sweat—did you have a nightmare?”

Sikong Jing looked at the girl’s concerned expression and rasped, ”You... you’re not afraid of me?”

His expression was a little strange.

Reasonably speaking, in his current state, he ought to be someone people would be terrified of at first sight. Although he didn’t yet know where he was, judging from the environment and the girl’s clothes, it seemed to be some small, ordinary tribe or village.

Yet the girl before him seemed to care not at all about the terrifying Demon Scales on his body?

With the way he looked right now, under normal circumstances if he ran into people from a tribe, they ought to treat him as a Devil and burn him on the spot, shouldn’t they?

Hearing this, the girl blinked and countered, ”Why should I be afraid of you? What I’m a bit afraid of is that you might die.”

The girl’s tone was very simple and pure.

Sikong Jing also blinked. Could it be this girl thought he was just some ordinary demon beast?

At that, Sikong Jing still asked directly, ”I have so many scales on my body—why aren’t you afraid?”

Once he said this, the girl’s face was immediately filled with confusion...

With an extremely odd expression she asked back, ”What’s there to be afraid of? Having lots of scales, isn’t that normal?”

Normal?

Before Sikong Jing could ask further, the girl’s face suddenly showed a look of dawning comprehension...

”I get it. Did you see that I don’t have scales on my face and hands and feel a bit inferior?”

”Haha, actually I’m just a bit lucky—my face and both hands just happen to not have grown scales. My whole body is covered in them, you know.”

”Look...”

As she said this, the girl suddenly rolled up her sleeve, revealing her slender arm in one motion.

And on her arm, it was completely covered in silvery-white scales.

Different from Sikong Jing’s strange and mysterious Demon Scales, the girl’s silvery-white scales looked more like fish scales...

In an instant, Sikong Jing was left staring dumbly.

No matter how much he had experienced, he still couldn’t immediately accept the situation before his eyes.

Yet the girl casually let her sleeve fall back down and smiled lightly. ”See? I’m also covered in scales—you don’t need to feel inferior. And I even have two horns.”

As she spoke, she used her hand to press her hair down slightly; on her head there were actually two small but protruding horns.

After letting Sikong Jing see clearly, the girl continued, ”I’m just like you, merely one of the most ordinary Demon people on Demon Scale Island... Oh right, which village are you from? How did you manage to fall into the sea so carelessly?”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing didn’t answer; he only stared blankly at the girl before him.

For a moment he didn’t even know how to react. How could there be people in this world whose whole bodies were covered in scales?
