Berserk God of War

Pei Xie’s eyes were filled with brilliance, but then he shrugged indifferently and stopped speaking. He had already made an agreement with Pei Kuang, and was loyal and unafraid of death in regards to Qianwang Holy Tower...

Since he had already been captured, he was bound to die.

Whether it was suicide, being killed by Xiong Tingting, or another means, naturally, he did not care.

He knew well that now, even if they paraded him on the Upper City Tower, it would be useless. He just needed to keep insisting that Qianwang Holy Tower was justice, and what could Overlord Commerce do to him?

All Overlord Commerce wanted was for him to publicly denounce Qianwang Holy Tower.

Despite the torture he endured during this period, he did not relent, and he did not believe Murong Jianyun could pull off any trick. If nothing changed, eventually they would drag him back for Xiong Tingting to attend to.

Thus, following Murong Jianyun’s command...

Pei Xie was taken by a Ba Jiang summoned inside, and escorted towards the city tower, while Murong Jianyun ordered everyone to follow.

Eventually, only Murong Jianyun, Leng Sha, and Bai Xiaojin remained in the Heavenly Decision Hall.

After watching everyone leave...

Murong Jianyun suddenly looked at Leng Sha and Bai Xiaojin, instructing: ”Send a message to your master, asking him to come when he has time and kill Pei Xie.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Xiaojin puzzledly asked why his master should kill him, couldn’t they do it?

”We can certainly kill him, but it might arouse suspicion from Qianwang Holy Tower.”

”But if your master does it, it’s different. He’s meant to be expelled from Overlord Commerce; killing Pei Xie publicly would prove your master is indeed too demonic, and utterly reckless in conduct.”

”Later, when I expel him, it will be justified.”

After explaining, Murong Jianyun smiled and left the Heavenly Decision Hall, heading toward the city tower.

Of course, Bai Xiaojin was aware of Master Sikong Jing’s plan to be expelled from Overlord Commerce. But with Master currently pursuing Ba Lie Venerable, is there still a need to kill someone like Pei Xie?

Somewhat confused, Bai Xiaojin looked towards Leng Sha beside him.

Leng Sha was already writing a letter swiftly and gently replied, ”Master’s actions should be as audacious as possible, and if Master kills him, Xiong Tingting is less likely to be suspected by Qianwang Holy Tower...”

”Xiong Tingting is already on her way to Batian Inner City; it’s odd for the Great Heaven Decision to suddenly change its mind.”

”Therefore, having Master come back to kill is most appropriate.”

Saying this, Leng Sha finished writing the letter and sent it to Sikong Jing.

...

On the other side, Sikong Jing, who was pursuing Ba Lie Venerable, quickly received Leng Sha’s transmission.

After glancing at the letter briefly, he immediately understood: if Xiong Tingting wasn’t being led to Batian Inner City at this time, of course, he wouldn’t need to personally kill Pei Xie.

But there was no ”if”...

So, he must kill, becoming the focal point of the city, perhaps of the whole world, thus making Qianwang Holy Tower ignore Xiong Tingting.

Of course, this was just one reason; the true purpose was to make Overlord City even more tumultuous...

Thinking of this, Sikong Jing slowly turned to look at the lake surface in front of him...

He then said slowly, ”Ba Lie, do you think hiding in the lake means you can escape?”

Indeed, while Murong Jianyun was meeting, Sikong Jing already struck Ba Lie Venerable into this lake, where Ba Lie Venerable now hid, surely devising some way to escape from the lake bottom.

But Sikong Jing could not let him succeed. With those words, he stepped onto the lake surface and then formed a Beast Killing Array.

Using the demon fish in the lake to form the Beast Killing Array...

Soonafter... Boom!

Ba Lie Venerable was explosively forced out, drenched in water as he frantically demanded, ”What what what is this method?”

Having a Soldier Killing Array formed within the lake was downright absurd.

”Naturally, it’s the method from the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Formation, did you really think you could escape?” Sikong Jing said faintly, ”But I can offer you a suggestion; you can try fleeing towards Batian Inner City.”

Upon hearing this, Ba Lie Venerable’s face turned cold, skeptical of being made a fool.

But immediately, he thought of something and fixed his gaze on Sikong Jing, saying, ”True, all who know I’m defecting to Qianwang Holy Tower are dead, entering Batian Inner City, I can just deny it.”

Having said that, Ba Lie Venerable quickly decided and dashed towards Batian Inner City.

At least then, even if caught by Murong Jianyun, he could save his life, because Sikong Jing lacked evidence.

Then, he would need to be interrogated first, and Nanfeng, Dongwu, and others would surely plead for him.

Moreover, Ba Lie Venerable had another thought...

Once close to Overlord City, he might have a chance to be rescued by the Master of Dark Tower.

With that in mind, Ba Lie Venerable became more excited, yet suddenly felt a chill and thought to himself, ”Wait, surely this little beast’s advise comes with traps.”

Realizing this, Ba Lie Venerable decided against heading towards Batian Inner City.

But it was already too late; Sikong Jing’s pursuit left Ba Lie Venerable no choice but to head towards the Inner City.

His condition was troubled with wounds, while Sikong Jing could always heal his injuries. Being caught by this little beast spells certain death, so Ba Lie Venerable needed to maintain a safe distance.

Otherwise, this little beast could even forcibly control troops.

Unable to find alternatives, Ba Lie Venerable gritted his teeth and fled wildly towards Batian Inner City.

Along the way, Ba Lie Venerable considered...

Whether to find powerful individuals who came to Overlord City to buy a Hundred-man Soldier Killing Formation for protection or aid, but to his surprise, he failed to sense any strong presence across the path...

”Right, now it’s time for the sale of the Hundred-man Soldier Killing Formation, all the strong gather in the Inner City.”

Upon this discovery, Ba Lie Venerable’s mouth twitched.

Suddenly, with a flash of brilliance in his eyes, he thought, ”Correct, if I enter the Inner City, I can blend in with those buying the Hundred People Formation, and then Sikong the little beast wouldn’t dare act against me.”

This made him even more resolved to head for the Inner City.

Behind him, Sikong Jing slightly curled his lips; since Murong Jianyun wanted him to kill Pei Xie, it’s naturally fitting to steer Ba Lie Venerable towards the Inner City, or else be overwhelmed without capacity to manage both.

Luckily, Ba Lie Venerable had already panicked and lost his composure, falling straight into the trap.

...

Ba Lie Mansion, emptied.

Suddenly, a dark figure slowly descended, and he was none other than Qian Ta, alone.

Xiong Tingting’s daughter had long been discarded to his subordinates.

Surveying the state of the courtyard, Qian Ta frowned before pulling out the Soul Returning Mirror to uncover everything, but naturally, he couldn’t succeed, for the surrounding space from Sikong Jing and Ba Lie Venerable’s battle had already been fractured.

However, Qian Ta didn’t appear despondent; his eyes swept calmly over all the corpses around...

Finally, Qian Ta’s gaze settled on Ju Dan’s body, unmelted due to the Fiery Fire Barrier, suddenly he flashed forward and pressed a finger against Ju Dan’s corpse’s brow.
