Berserk God of War

Chapter 994: Chapter 994: Someone in the Backyard, Yulou’s Sword

As he spoke, this person suddenly glanced towards the dark corner.

He chuckled softly, ”Yao Yulou, it truly is like searching the whole world only to find it effortlessly by accident. Following your wife led me directly to Xiu Hanzi, hahaha.”

This person was naturally the eerie middle-aged envoy Yao Yulou had seen last night.

He had not left the Yao Residence last night, but stayed hidden, monitoring Yao Yulou and Jiang Wanyou. When he noticed Jiang Wanyou leaving the house, he quietly followed her with a mind to test his luck.

Unexpectedly, he directly encountered Xiu Hanzi, whom their lord had been desperate to find. His luck was simply exploding with fortune.

”I really doubt if you’ve known the whereabouts of Xiu Hanzi all along. I doubt your loyalty to the lord.”

As the middle-aged envoy spoke, he once again looked towards the dark corner.

The first time he followed Jiang Wanyou, he discovered a huge jackpot, yet Yao Yulou, who had been with Jiang Wanyou as a couple for over ten years, found nothing. Suspicion was only natural.

The darkness did not respond at all, as if disdainful to answer.

”Later, you must hold back He Congsheng. Remember, even if you die in battle, you must restrain him for me.”

The middle-aged envoy coldly spoke towards the darkness again.

Although Yao Yulou was suspected of betraying the lord, the middle-aged envoy didn’t care because Yao Yulou’s life was in his hands, as were Yao Yuzhi and Jiang Wanyou’s lives.

Moreover, Yao Yulou was far from being his match.

And since he alone couldn’t handle Old He and found no help in the emergency, he had no choice but to let Yao Yulou restrain the opponent.

Finally, a scholarly voice came from the darkness, ”I’ll faithfully follow the envoy’s orders.”

Thus, before Duanmu Chun’s men arrived, the two of them first sneaked outside the Xiu Yi Clinic.

At this moment, inside the Xiu Yi Clinic, Sikong Jing suddenly had a flash of brilliance in his eyes.

He received a report from the Little Demon Beast outside; a strong individual was approaching, precisely the second person eavesdropping earlier.

”Old He said, the opponent might be from the Qianwang Holy Tower, and we must not make contact.” Sikong Jing spoke softly.

If they were Duanmu Chun’s people, it wouldn’t matter, but Sikong Jing couldn’t take risks with members from other factions, especially when they might be from the Qianwang Holy Tower. Extreme caution was necessary.

Therefore, Sikong Jing immediately slipped away from the clinic lobby.

Utilizing the Shadow Moon Step, he dispersed his aura and then hid in the backyard of the clinic where several demon beasts, serving as food, were kept.

The next moment, Sikong Jing struck one of the demon beasts used as poultry with his palm...

Instantly, he constructed the meridian of these poultry demon beasts within himself, transforming his aura to match theirs exactly.

Finally, Sikong Jing dodged and hid behind a wooden post.

As he completed the task, a grim and terrifying aura emanated from within the clinic, accompanied by intense and powerful waves of intent sweeping through the surroundings, gently brushing past Sikong Jing.

Holding his breath, Sikong Jing remained unmoved.

Indeed, the intention wave did not linger over him, evidently not detecting Sikong Jing’s presence.

A few breaths later, the intent waves were retracted.

The next moment, an ominous voice came from within the clinic, ”Damn it, Xiu Hanzi escaped ahead of time.”

A second voice softly echoed, ”It seems Xiu Hanzi constructed the Qianyuan Soldier Domain just to escape and not, as we previously thought, to protect those or items inside the clinic.”

”Or perhaps, they’ve already successfully taken away the person or item.”

When this second voice appeared, Sikong Jing’s mind slightly shivered, feeling somewhat familiar.

”Humph, the person they want to protect is likely just Jiang Wanyou.”

”Hehe, even if they’ve run away now, it doesn’t matter. They surely haven’t gone far by now. Find Jiang Wanyou immediately and use her life to force Xiu Hanzi and He Congsheng to return.”

The first speaker suddenly issued an eerie and terrifying directive to the second voice.

Sikong Jing’s mind shook again—Jiang Wanyou, her identity had already been compromised?

Before the second voice could respond, the first voice harshly rebuked, ”Not going yet, or are you reluctant?”

This person was clearly immensely irritated...

Hearing the words, the second voice solemnly replied, ”Envoy, I certainly am not reluctant, it’s just that Jiang Wanyou is no less important than Xiu Hanzi. Using her immediately to pressure them, isn’t it too hasty?”

After the words dropped, the clinic fell into deep silence once more...

But the silence lasted only two breaths, before the first voice terrifyingly urged again, ”Don’t you know to cover your face? In any case, go immediately, or I shall consider you a traitor...”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing’s eyes sparkled with cold light.

Cover his face, meaning the second voice was someone Jiang Wanyou knew, and Jiang Wanyou’s importance surpassed even Old Xiu’s. Why was that?

After a moment of silence, the second voice finally responded, ”Since the envoy insists so much, I shall go...”

With these words, footsteps echoed in the clinic, growing fainter.

And Sikong Jing’s heart sank, trouble was brewing.

Jiang Wanyou’s identity had long been exposed, and Old Xiu and Old He returned for Jiang Wanyou. If she were taken as a hostage, the two elders would likely return to fight desperately...

What should I do now? Sikong Jing pondered.

Suddenly, as Sikong Jing’s thoughts raced, the gradually receding footsteps within the clinic stopped.

The first voice asked again, ”What’s wrong, why did you stop?”

”Envoy, there’s someone in the backyard,” the second voice abruptly spoke.

Upon these words, while contemplating how to rescue Jiang Wanyou, Sikong Jing felt his hairs stand on end—had he been discovered?

Before Sikong Jing could react, the first voice’s owner, shrouded in a terrifying and dark aura, swiftly emerged and landed in the backyard area, but initially did not discover Sikong Jing.

He landed right in front of the wooden post where Sikong Jing was hiding, with his back towards Sikong Jing...

Meaning, if he turned around, he would see Sikong Jing.

And what Sikong Jing saw was a black-clad figure with an aura of madness emanating from him.

The next moment, this person angrily asked, ”How dare you lie to me, where’s the person in the backyard?”

With that, the middle-aged envoy slowly began to turn...

Yet Sikong Jing dared not move. If he moved, he would be instantly detected by the man’s intentions. All Sikong Jing could do now was to launch a Blood Devouring Dragon Pearl attack and escape the moment he was spotted...

But then... Bzzz!

Just before the middle-aged envoy fully turned around, an extremely sharp sword light burst forth from the clinic, penetrating the middle-aged envoy’s chest in an instant with a ”Pfft” sound.

The middle-aged envoy’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Beneath the wooden post, Sikong Jing, who was prepared to launch a Blood Devouring Dragon Pearl, was equally dumbfounded. Two words flashed through his mind: internal strife!

At that moment, a figure elegantly landed atop the wooden post.

Clad in snow-white garments, with his sword hanging gently below, droplets of fresh blood fell beside Sikong Jing...
