Berserk God of War

Chapter 972: Chapter 972: Committing All Evils, Full of Wickedness

”Meixi, did something happen between you and him?” Jiang Wanyou pursued the question.

She, almost oblivious to the outside world.

So she didn’t even know that Hua Meixi had gone to East Plain, and Yao Yuzhi was instructed by Hua Meixi not to speak about it.

”No, nothing happened.”

Hua Meixi thought of all the happenings with Sikong Jing earlier, and the affairs between Sikong Jing and her father, Hua Lidian. Indeed, many things had occurred, but she really couldn’t say.

”Then why did you just try to kill him?” Jiang Wanyou asked again, somewhat incredulous.

Hua Meixi was at a loss for words when she heard this, silently cursing herself for being too impulsive earlier.

But who would have imagined that she would encounter Sikong Jing unexpectedly when her mother visited the Chaotic Eighth District?

However, thinking that Yang Yi was indeed a person from the Chaotic Eighth District, and considering the incident where Wan Tonghui attacked Yang Yi last night, along with Sikong Jing’s timely rescue... what a cursed coincidence!

But how to answer now? She couldn’t possibly say Sikong Jing came with Hua Lidian’s assignment, right?

To say that would expose Hua Lidian’s existence and sadden her mother, wouldn’t it?

Gritting her teeth, Hua Meixi suddenly said, ”It’s just that Sikong Jing’s character is terrible, and I’m afraid he’ll hurt my mother.”

This was all she could say, as Hua Meixi couldn’t think of any other reason.

”Huh?” This time it was Jiang Wanyou’s turn to be surprised. Was the person Uncle Xiu wanted to take as a disciple really of such poor character?

Hua Meixi, gritting her teeth, said, ”Yes, his character is really bad, hanging out with someone whose character is even worse. I can’t let someone like that have any contact with my mother.”

The so-called bad man she referred to was, of course, Hua Lidian.

Jiang Wanyou nodded heavily, having made up her mind regarding Uncle Xiu.

This disciple must not be accepted.

But she still asked worriedly, ”If his character is so poor, what specifically shows it? Meixi, your emotions were very off just now; don’t let your mother worry, okay?”

Suddenly back to the earlier topic, Hua Meixi was at a loss for words again.

”He does all sorts of evil; his sins are countless.”

”But he couldn’t harm me, of course. He once bullied my team members, and I taught him a lesson.”

As Hua Meixi spoke, something felt amiss inside her.

Because she really couldn’t think of a single bad thing Sikong Jing had done except being too close to Hua Lidian.

And Jiang Wanyou finally understood, nodding heavily, ”If he’s this bad... no, I have to go to the Chaotic Eighth District to find those kids and keep them away from him.”

In reality, she wanted to find Uncle Xiu and tell him that Sikong Jing was a bad person.

”Mother still wants to find him, warn him to stay away from them,” Jiang Wanyou said again, forcefully. In fact, she was preparing to find Yang Yi and warn him to be careful, saying, ”Ah Yin, let’s go.”

Seeing her mother so beside herself, Hua Meixi was stunned and quickly shouted, ”Mother, don’t... ”

To meet Sikong Jing again, that won’t do!

”Actually, he’s not that bad. Just don’t go looking for him; let me handle this.”

Hua Meixi felt an immense headache, why did such coincidences keep happening?

”In any case, Mother, I’ll find him now and warn him for you...”

Saying this, Hua Meixi dashed off swiftly.

And so, Jiang Wanyou with a face full of confusion was left in the courtyard; she looked at the maid beside her and asked, ”Ah Yin, how is it that Sikong Jing is suddenly not that bad? What is Meixi even saying?”

Earlier, she said he’s all evil, and now she says he’s not that bad. What on earth is going on?

Ah Yin blinked, also confused and replied, ”Madam, maybe Miss was indeed bullied by Sikong Jing, but this man probably isn’t that bad, just a bit overbearing to Miss.”

With these words, a sense of realization flashed in Jiang Wanyou’s eyes.

She understood her daughter well enough; she’s very headstrong. If a mere man oppressed her in any way, she would certainly be upset.

But now it posed a bit of a problem, since she had to investigate Sikong Jing’s character, and her daughter already had a subjective opinion about him, how would she proceed? Should she have Yao Yulou or Yao Yuzhi investigate?

But she did not want to involve the Yao siblings in the matter concerning Uncle Xiu...

Thinking this, Jiang Wanyou slowly walked out of the courtyard, not letting Ah Yin follow her, strolling alone... Suddenly, around a corner in the corridor, there was a loud ”bang,” and something fell heavily to the ground.

The next moment, came a girl’s scream.

It was a girl dressed as a maid who had fallen to the ground, with a basin and water spilled on the floor.

Jiang Wanyou stopped, looking at the girl in front of her, and asked, ”What happened to you?”

The girl quickly got up, then hurriedly knelt down and said, ”I’m sorry, Madam, I’m new here, and I’m clumsy.”

The girl was the little princess brought by Sikong Jing, whom Hua Meixi had directly arranged to be a maid in the Yao Residence. The manager had been rushing things just now, so while carrying water, she almost bumped into the lady standing in front, dropping the items on the ground.

She had once been the princess of the Small Domain and had never done such tasks before, so she was truly clumsy.

Now, of course, she was terribly afraid, her little face turning pale.

Jiang Wanyou was dazed for a moment, then asked, ”New here? Who arranged for you to be in my courtyard?”

Because she always felt something peculiar about Yao Yulou, she had an impulse to find out clearly whoever was new.

”Miss Hua arranged for me to be here...”

”Please don’t send me away, Madam. If I must leave, could you please ask Young Master Sikong to come and get me?” The little princess still disliked the Yao Residence and wanted to be with Sikong Jing.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Wanyou was stunned and asked, ”Young Master Sikong? Which Young Master Sikong?”

”It’s Sikong Jing, Young Master Sikong.” The little princess remembered Sikong Jing’s name and softly said it.

Jiang Wanyou was full of surprise and asked why she wanted to find Young Master Sikong...

And the little princess, seeing how gentle Jiang Wanyou seemed, recounted how Sikong Jing had rescued her.

Instantly, Jiang Wanyou was dumbfounded: ”This is called all evil, countless sins?”

She recalled her daughter’s words; if he was a bad person, how could he have rescued the little princess in front of her and arranged a place for her? Moreover, the little princess clearly remembered what she said to Sikong Jing...

He despised those who treated the Small Domain and ordinary people as ants, echoing Uncle Su’s sentiments and beliefs.

”Alright, you go about your tasks, I won’t blame you.”

As she thought about it, Jiang Wanyou allowed the little princess to leave, now filled with curiosity about Sikong Jing, what makes Meixi harbor such intense feelings toward him, and what made Uncle Xiu value him so much?

”Perhaps I should find a chance to meet him,” Jiang Wanyou decided secretly.

...

Shortly after, Hua Meixi arrived at the Sky Wolf Court, ready to clear things up with Sikong Jing.

She felt it necessary to have a calm conversation with him, to explain that her mother couldn’t withstand any stress now and to share the hardships her mother had endured, making him understand her good intentions.

Hua Meixi decided to appeal emotionally and reason logically.

Just as Hua Meixi was waiting, the Sky Wolf Team member she sent to find Sikong Jing returned.

”Captain Hua, Brother Sikong said he’s in seclusion and has no time now.”

With this statement, Hua Meixi’s intention to appeal emotionally immediately exploded.

Damn it, now he wouldn’t even meet her.
