Chapter 989: Chapter 989: Master and Disciple—My Refusal

“Duanmu Chun, we will take this young man from your East Dominator Branch with us.”

After saying this, Old He laughed heartily and disappeared with Sikong Jing in front of Duanmu Chun, whose face turned ashen.

It was now completely confirmed. They really wanted to take Sikong Jing as their disciple.

Swish, swish, swish…

In the next moment, several figures of skilled experts landed beside Duanmu Chun. They were the powerful individuals of the East Dominator Branch.

One by one, they hurriedly asked Duanmu Chun if he was injured…

Duanmu Chun, whose face was black and blue from Old He’s sneak attack, waved his hand sullenly and said, “Immediately gather all the members of the East Dominator Branch in the vicinity. I want to completely seal off this area. Absolutely do not allow Xiu Hanzi to leave…”

Upon hearing this, they immediately passed down the orders.

They quickly positioned themselves at the four corners of the Chaotic Eighth District, scanning the area frantically, fearing that Old Xiu would secretly leave.

They also watched to see if there were any of Old Xiu’s subordinates, and if there were, they would arrest them.

Suddenly, Di Geng landed beside Duanmu Chun too, and he slowly spoke, “Duanmu lad, this is very strange… Xiu Hanzi has no need to return to the Chaotic Eighth District. There must be something important or someone important in the Xiu Yi Clinic.”

Upon hearing these words, a glint of cold light flashed in Duanmu Chun’s eyes. Indeed, this made sense.

If there was nothing important or no important person in the Xiu Yi Clinic, Xiu Hanzi and his companion could have left with Sikong Jing. Why would they fall into such a dangerous place? This was indeed very strange…

Upon realizing this, Duanmu Chun made up his mind and said, “I will sneak in, and the blockade will be your responsibility.”

As he spoke, Duanmu Chun’s aura became obscure, and he stealthily infiltrated the forced control troop array controlled by Old Xiu.

He carefully approached the Xiu Yi Clinic.

Due to Old Xiu’s forced control of troops, if he wasn’t cautious, he could easily be discovered, so he had to suppress his True Qi while infiltrating.

At the same time, inside the Xiu Yi Clinic, Old Xiu looked at Jiang Wanyou with a wry smile.

“Don’t worry, Little Jiang, your Uncle He and I will ensure you leave safely and undetected.”

“Once I completely transform the surrounding area into the Qianyuan Soldier Domain, I’ll have your Uncle He secretly take you to those children’s courtyard.”

Though Old Xiu had returned to the clinic, he was still continuously constructing the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Formation. Once it transformed into the Qianyuan Soldier Domain, anyone bearing animosity would be unable to hide and would be discovered by Old Xiu.

At that point, Jiang Wanyou would naturally be able to avoid the hostile eyes and leave silently.

“Alright, Uncle Xiu, you be careful too,” Jiang Wanyou said softly.

Old Xiu then asked her why she came to the Chaotic Eighth District at this time, and Jiang Wanyou replied with a smile, “Because I have already checked on the young man you fancy; he is well-suited to be your successor.”

Then Jiang Wanyou recounted everything she had heard.

Old Xiu’s eyes lit up, and then he laughed with satisfaction, “He indeed has a bit of your Uncle Su’s spirit. It seems that I, Xiu Hanzi, can finally recruit a disciple without holding back, hahaha.”

While laughing, cough, cough…

Old Xiu coughed heavily, spitting out several mouthfuls of fresh blood, which greatly worried Jiang Wanyou. She quickly handed him some water.

With a smile, wiping away the blood, Old Xiu accepted the water and said, “It’s an old injury, and the forced control of troops has aggravated it slightly, but it’s nothing. I can definitely hold on.”

Just as he finished speaking… bang!

The door of the Xiu Yi Clinic was flung open, and Old He rushed in with Sikong Jing.

“Old Xiu, how’s the situation?” As soon as he entered, Old He let go of Sikong Jing and asked urgently.

Old Xiu quickly gave Old He a reassuring smile and said, “As I expected, once the Qianyuan Soldier Domain is completed, Little Jiang can be sent away, and we can leave as well.”

After speaking, Old Xiu’s gaze fell on Sikong Jing, and he chuckled lightly, “Sikong, my young friend, we meet again.”

At this moment, Sikong Jing’s eyes widened slightly. The old man before him was the same one who had explained the Soldier Killing Chess to him and Gongyang Ying at Ancient Pine when they were playing chess under Minglong Village. He was actually Grandpa Su’s subordinate.

When he was brought here by Old He, Sikong Jing had already assessed the situation outside.

The old man before him had forcibly controlled the residents around the Chaotic Eighth District, and he had just mentioned the Qianyuan Soldier Domain to Old He… It was clear he wanted to take him as a disciple.

Thinking of this, Sikong Jing smiled wryly and said, “Old senior, if you wanted to test me, you could have come directly. Making such a big scene seems unnecessary now.”

Since they were Grandpa Su’s subordinates, Sikong Jing naturally felt a sense of closeness.

Old Xiu also smiled wryly upon hearing this, “If we had waited just one more day, we might have come straight to you. It’s only now that we’ve received an objective evaluation of your behavior.”

Hearing this, Old Xiu looked at Jiang Wanyou beside him.

Sikong Jing also glanced over, and then paused, recalling a face resembling Hua Meixi… If he wasn’t mistaken, she must be Hua Meixi’s mother.

The lady of the Yao Residence…

This connection was incredibly significant, but why was she with Grandpa Su’s subordinates?

“Originally, this approach would be the least disruptive while still allowing us to infiltrate the East Dominator Branch, but it turned out…”

Old Xiu paused and smiled wryly again.

Then he asked, “Didn’t you fear attracting attention when you directly claimed the fragmented map came from the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map?”

Sikong Jing helplessly replied, “I’ve already been noticed, so the more straightforward I am, the less suspicious it seems.”

Old Xiu immediately understood, realizing it was an unforeseen twist of fate.

They had misjudged Sikong Jing’s behavior, assuming he was like an ordinary person, but Sikong Jing often acted in ways ordinary people couldn’t understand…

“Since things have come to this, I have no choice. Now, I want to ask you, are you willing to acknowledge me as your master?” Old Xiu suddenly straightened his posture and asked.

At this moment, outside, Duanmu Chun had already sneaked near the Xiu Yi Clinic, but advancing further would lead to his detection.

He had to stop, and at this position, he could already hear the conversation inside, arriving just in time for the disciple acceptance scene.

“For someone like Sikong Jing, a non-combatant, he would definitely be willing.”

Duanmu Chun thought silently, “He has no reason not to take a master to learn the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map.”

The next moment, Old Xiu’s voice emerged once again, “As long as you take me as your master, you’ll have the opportunity to become the new leader of our newly formed power, and you might even become the next Su Beiheng.”

Hearing this, Old Xiu gazed deeply at Sikong Jing.

Based on Jiang Wanyou’s description, Old Xiu fully believed Sikong Jing would agree, as he, too, was a non-combatant who wished to carve a bloody path through the combatants, sharing the same dream as Eldest Su.

However, Sikong Jing stared at Old Xiu with a smile and unexpectedly said, “Sorry, I’m afraid I must refuse!”

This statement left Old He and Jiang Wanyou wide-eyed, and Old Xiu baffled.

Outside, Duanmu Chun couldn’t believe it. How could Sikong Jing refuse? Considering his background and status, his current predicament seemingly didn’t allow him to refuse, did it?

Wasn’t he afraid that after refusing, Xiu Hanzi might just kill him?
