Chapter 967: Chapter 967: Ba Lie Venerable Sends Someone

Now the situation is completely following the rhythm set by Sikong Jing and Yang Yi.

He and Yang Yi naturally understood what Yang Zhi and the others wanted to do, so they had to keep the rhythm under their control, which is why they admitted to the murder and let Duanmu Chun understand the situation.

Only in this way would Duanmu Chun consider him and Yang Yi as the victims.

On the contrary, if they started by fabricating an alibi or denying it, they would fall into the trap set by Yang Zhi and the others, and Duanmu Chun would initially be inclined to side with Wan Tonghui.

At that time, it would truly be indefensible.

Wan Tonghui, his mouth wide open, couldn’t utter a word and had no idea how to refute.

Sikong Jing continued, ”But at least it can be proven that I couldn’t possibly initiate a frontal attack on anyone; it must have been someone attacking me first, and I responded from the shadows, so it’s clear who is lying.”

Saying this, Sikong Jing stood calmly, as if disdainful of the entire scene.

Whether the opponent is masked in black or dressed in Wansheng Battle Armor, it doesn’t matter; what matters is proving that he wasn’t the one to strike first, and that’s sufficient.

Duanmu Chun gazed at Sikong Jing, unable to suppress a private admiration, then took a deep breath and said, ”It’s clear that Sky Wolf Sikong Jing was attacked first. As for whether it’s the Wansheng Eagle Group, it needs further investigation...”

He hasn’t declared the matter settled, but Wan Tonghui’s heart has sunk into despair; Sikong Jing’s actions have rendered him immobile.

At this moment, Duanmu Chun turned to Yang Yi and asked, ”Captain Yang, what do you say about the witness’s testimony?”

The accusing witness was a resident from the battlefield surroundings in the Chaotic Eighth District.

With Sikong Jing paving the way, Yang Yi smiled slightly, ”Duanmu Dabajue, I just want to understand why, if it were my jealousy that initiated the attack, the Mouse Group would be prepared with bells to deal with me beforehand.”

Upon hearing this, a flash of brilliance appeared in Duanmu Chun’s eyes...

In the next moment, Wan Tonghui cried out, ”The task we received required bells for that thief!”

With a cold expression, Yang Yi further said, ”Oh, Duanmu Dabajue, at the time, a Peak of Martial Battle Realm expert was forced to escape by Brother Sikong and me, but I left my power mark on him.”

The path has been laid, and now it’s time to deploy the trump card, leading Wan Tonghui to self-destruction.

As expected, Wan Tonghui’s complexion changed dramatically, but then sank; the mark had long been erased by Yang Zhi.

”Of course, power marks are sure to be erased.”

Yang Yi continued, ”But his body still bears scars left by Brother Sikong and me, and these wounds will be the same as those on the person I killed. How about letting Sky Wolf Team investigate this matter?”

”I will certainly capture the person with similar wounds immediately.”

Saying this, Yang Yi slowly drew his sword and said, ”It’s the wound from this sword in my hand.”

At this moment, Yang Yi’s voice carried a chilling tone; with a clang, the long sword swept out, emitting a sharp light.

Suddenly, Wan Tonghui couldn’t help but step back a few paces.

Duanmu Chun also looked at Wan Tonghui, a cold light flashing in his eyes.

Finally, he spoke deeply to Wan Tonghui, ”Why did you not mention that someone escaped? This matter is clearly full of doubts, so once the fugitive is caught, everything will fall into place.”

After a pause, Duanmu Chun firmly stated, ”This matter is not suitable for the Sky Wolf Team... Captain Nu Hua Hua Meixi, you are tasked with investigating this matter; be sure to find out where the escapee is.”

Hua Meixi stepped forward forcefully, ”Yes, Duanmu Dabajue.”

Then Hua Meixi approached Yang Yi and asked, ”Captain Yang, do you suspect who escaped on the spot, whose body has similar wounds?”

When Duanmu Chun assigned Hua Meixi, Yang Yi and Sikong Jing knew they had already won.

No matter how much Hua Meixi disliked Sikong Jing, she wouldn’t intentionally put them into trouble, and she knew this very clearly.

Thus, Yang Yi slowly raised his sword, its tip pointing towards Wan Tonghui.

Wan Tonghui’s complexion changed frantically, retreating crazily and shouting, ”Yang Yi, have you lost your mind? How could I possibly have wounds on my body? Haven’t you done enough by killing my team members?”

However, Hua Meixi turned around, step by step approaching Wan Tonghui, her face cold, ”Captain Wan, please cooperate with my inspection.”

Yang Zhi and Li Feng’s faces were extremely gloomy, staring fixedly at Duanmu Chun.

But as Sikong Jing had expected, Duanmu Chun was completely on the side of the Sky Wolf Team; if all the premises hadn’t been arranged beforehand, Duanmu Chun would have hesitated to investigate a genius captain; now, there was no doubt.

Because he understood everything clearly.

Yang Zhi and Li Feng secretly regretted, thinking that Sikong Jing and Yang Yi would only try to deny culpability.

Yet the two didn’t actually deny anything, their poise defying their youth.

If they had known this, they would never have let Wan Tonghui bring this matter to this stage, but with so many fatalities, coupled with Li Feng himself being humiliated, they just thought of quickly annihilating the Sky Wolf Team.

Misguidedly confident in falsifying evidence, they never imagined they’d be bitten so terribly.

Next, if Wan Tonghui is identified during the investigation, he and Yang Zhi will also get implicated; this matter is troublesome.

At this moment, Wan Tonghui was terrified to the utmost, looking pleadingly at Yang Zhi and Li Feng.

But the two knew the game was over, turning their heads away from Li Feng, making sure not to get involved; since it reached this point, sacrificing Wan Tonghui was the only option left.

However, someone felt dissatisfied, Yang Li jumped in and shouted, ”Captain Wan lost so many team members, why should he be subject to inspection?”

Yang Zhi twitched his mouth, but didn’t stop temporarily.

At the same time, Hua Meixi ignored Yang Li, repeating, ”Captain Wan, please cooperate with my inspection.”

Wan Tonghui’s entire body trembled violently; if he were indeed the one initiating the attack on Yang Yi and Sikong Jing, he would be finished.

Even though he possessed a Fourth Grade Battle Body, preventing the penalty of death, he would be stripped of his captaincy and likely be dispatched to other territories, losing everything in the process.

He still aspired to obtain the Soul Dominator Order, so he absolutely couldn’t leave at this point.

Boom...

Just when Wan Tonghui almost despaired entirely, suddenly, an emperor’s martial stage aura descended from the sky, followed by a cold, aged voice, ”Is East Dominator Branch’s Supreme Dominator Duanmu Chun present?”

Upon hearing this, Duanmu Chun’s face slightly changed, looking up and replying, ”I am here, may I ask who you are?”

The next instant, a not particularly large but terrifyingly powerful flying demon beast crossed over the Supreme Dominance Decision Building, appearing over all the team captains; atop the beast stood an elder dressed in a black and red robe.

The robe had flickering flames on it, seeming to dance.

Upon seeing this person, Duanmu Chun’s gaze shifted slightly, and Hua Meixi’s expression froze.

At this point, Duanmu Chun obviously recognized who the elder was, again fisting his hands and saying, ”So it’s the Guardian Envoy of Ba Lie Venerable, Netherworld Guardian, what guidance has brought you to our East Dominator Branch?”

In fact, Duanmu Chun already knew why Netherworld Guardian came, but pretended not to know.

Sikong Jing’s eyes gleamed coldly, equally guessing the elder’s purpose...
