(This Chapter is an extra Chapter added for Alliance Leader Illusory Enchantress! Thank you for her great support! Alliance Leader mighty!)

At this moment, the soldiers transporting Heaven-shattering Thunder had long fled without a trace. When Chu Linfeng and the others arrived, only a few transport carriages remained.

Chu Linfeng glanced at the large boxes on the carriages and said, ”How are we supposed to take these things back? Surely not using these carriages.”

”Boss, it’s simple. I’ll just fly back with them on my back; it’s no big deal,” Golden Demon Vulture laughed.

Chu Linfeng opened a box and looked at the Heaven-shattering Thunder inside. He discovered a basin-sized, jet-black sphere, which weighed several hundred pounds when he picked it up.

Meng Ji looked at the Heaven-shattering Thunder and said, ”This Thunder is immensely powerful. After we take it back, we’ll need to obtain the enemy’s launching equipment; otherwise, it’s just a waste.

”We can’t afford to delay any longer; let’s go back now. I’m not sure about the current battle situation. Grand General Luo Ping must be very anxious; we’ll figure it out when we return!” said Chu Linfeng.

Immediately, Golden Demon Vulture lay his enormous body on the ground, and Chu Linfeng loaded all the boxes onto its back. He was quite surprised that the Golden Demon Vulture could fly with such heavy loads.

As Chu Linfeng, Meng Ji, and the others hastened back, chaos erupted on the battlefield.

After Luo Ping ordered the soldiers inside the city gates to retreat five hundred meters, he followed General Nangong’s words and had the soldiers on the city walls slaughter pigs and sheep, feasting to create a celebratory appearance in order to deceive the enemy.

Dusk gradually fell, but the Sea Dragon Empire’s surprise attack forces had yet to act. The two generals guarding the city climbed the walls to observe the distant enemy camp. One commented, ”It seems there might not be any changes tonight.”

”It’s still early. If it were you, you wouldn’t come at this hour. At least you might arrive by midnight. Let’s wait quietly and send someone to scout in an hour,” said the other.

Wei Qun, having nothing else to do, joined the soldiers in their feasting, though everyone had restraint and weren’t truly indulgent. The slain cattle and sheep weren’t plentiful; everyone could only barely have a few pieces of meat.

Soon the night turned pitch-black, and a thin fog appeared. A gust of breeze blew, the air thick with a strong scent of blood. Those not experienced on the battlefield would find this environment unbearable, but Wei Qun was used to it.

At this moment, he felt the food he’d eaten in his stomach continuously churning as if he were about to vomit it out, so he could only use alcohol to numb himself, slowly adapting to the battlefield life.

The soldiers on the city walls stopped their noise only by midnight. The two generals promptly ordered most of them to retreat, placing previously prepared straw men on the walls to act as soldiers.

Everything was being prepared tensely and orderly; now less than ten thousand soldiers remained on the walls. Their presence was mandatory; if not to attract the enemy troops, they would all have retreated.

No one wished to die, yet military orders were absolute. The remaining soldiers had to obey, but none complained, as yesterday’s heroic struggle by twenty thousand soldiers had left a deep impression in their hearts.

If their demise could secure their family’s peace, they deemed it worthwhile, each holding the resolve to face death, yet hoping to survive if fortunate.

In the Sea Dragon Empire’s camp, Yun Feiqing paced around his tent, listening to scouts report that Celestial Dragon Empire soldiers were feasting on the walls as if holding a victory banquet. He sensed something amiss but couldn’t pinpoint it.

To boost morale, he finally ordered, ”Now use the Heaven-shattering Thunder for a sneak attack on the enemy; ensure the war cars are within two hundred meters of the walls regardless.”

As Yun Feiqing finished speaking, two generals immediately left the tent, proceeding to assemble and dispatch troops, quietly approaching the Celestial Dragon Empire city under cover of night.

At a distance of a thousand meters from the walls, Celestial Dragon Country soldiers hidden began to detect their traces, subsequently secretly retreating and then flying up the walls to inform the two defending generals.

After hearing everyone’s reports, one general said, ”Good! Grand General Luo is indeed insightful; these bastards have come to ambush us. All soldiers, follow orders: Once the enemy pushes war cars to within arrow’s reach, shoot fiercely.

After they fire several Heaven-shattering Thunder, slow down and withdraw, letting the enemy’s Thunder explode emptily.”

Wei Qun wanted to stay but had been instructed by Chu Linfeng through Luo Ping to prioritically ensure his safety, so he was naturally not left behind.

Everyone stood in hidden positions on the walls, preparing their arrows, ready to shoot full-force at the approaching surprise troops, none knowing if they’d survive, hoping to kill as many as possible.

Soon the Sea Dragon Empire’s surprise troops appeared at a distance of five hundred meters, aware of the dormancy, one general remarked, ”Why are the defending soldiers so quiet? Could it be a trap!”

”You’re overthinking it. It’s midnight; after feasting, they’d certainly be sound asleep. They’re not divine beings with foresight; our actions are secretive; what could happen?” said the other general.

”I hope my worries are unwarranted. Tonight’s ambush concerns the entire army’s morale and can’t be sloppy.”

They slowly approached the walls, stopping deliberately at three hundred meters, detecting no movement, then continuing forward.

By now, the soldiers on the walls had their arrows ready, just awaiting the general’s command to shoot these ambushers into a pincushion.

The Sea Dragon Empire soldiers advanced cautiously, reaching two hundred and fifty meters from the walls. The general guarding said, ”All soldiers, fire fiercely at these bastards!”

Once commanded, thousands of arrows instantly targeted the advancing Sea Dragon soldiers, slaughtering hundreds in seconds.

”Damn them, fire the Heaven-shattering Thunder! I want to blow these Celestial Dragon dogs to hell!” a furious general shouted.

Soonly, a loud blast came from a war car, a huge fireball swiftly descending towards the walls, followed by an earth-shattering quake atop.

Seeing the incoming fireball, all soldiers in its landing area quickly fled, minimizing casualties, while soldiers elsewhere continued firing arrows in its launch direction.

Due to the dark night hindering visibility, they could only fire blindly, targeting roughly, and this Heaven-shattering Thunder from the Sea Dragon Empire slaughtered less than a hundred men, unable to escape due to proximity.

Injured or not, all let out agonizing screams to deceive the enemy, making them believe casualties were severe...
