Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 304: Chapter 313: Discussing Strategies to Repel the Enemy

Luo Ping immediately gathered all the generals in the council hall. Although this time they managed to save tens of thousands of soldiers without any danger, no one knows what might happen in the future.

”Although we won a beautiful battle today, everyone should remain vigilant. We must remember that the enemy still has fifteen Heaven-shattering Thunders unused, and we cannot let our guard down.” Luo Ping said to the crowd.

”Indeed, the enemy’s Heaven-shattering Thunder is incredibly powerful. I experienced it firsthand. Every time one is launched, it causes a massive vibration on the ground. Such strong attack power is something I’ve never seen before.” The general leading twenty thousand soldiers said.

”Grand General, I have a bad feeling. Yun Feiqing is a meticulous person. The quick withdrawal of his troops this time is due to his worries about low morale. He is sure to do something to boost their morale.” General Li said.

Everyone agreed upon hearing this. If the enemy wants to boost morale, they will definitely use the Heaven-shattering Thunder. This time they will surely learn from past mistakes and not use it indiscriminately.

Luo Ping looked at everyone and said, ”If my estimation is correct, the enemy will use Heaven-shattering Thunder against the soldiers on our city walls. The area of the walls is not large, making it difficult to dodge and escape. If that happens, the consequences would be unimaginable.”

”Indeed, the Grand General is right. I carefully observed the range of the Heaven-shattering Thunder from the city walls, which is about three hundred meters. Our arrows only have a range of two hundred meters. If the enemy uses Heaven-shattering Thunder within two hundred fifty meters or closer, we are completely exposed, without any ability to counterattack.

Also, it might strike the soldiers inside the city, turning us into sitting ducks. We can’t ignore this possibility.” said another general who returned from outside the city gates.

Luo Ping’s face changed dramatically upon hearing this. This is a matter where the enemy could wipe out tens of thousands of our soldiers without losing a single one, boosting their morale to the extreme.

”Issue my order immediately to withdraw most guards from the city walls, and have the soldiers inside the city fall back five hundred meters. I want to see how they can harm our men.” Luo Ping said.

”Wait!” A general immediately stopped him.

”General Nangong, what doubts do you have?” Luo Ping asked, puzzled.

”Grand General, your action will undoubtedly alert the enemy. It is fine to have the soldiers inside the city fall back, but the soldiers on the city walls must not retreat. They should instead display great joy after victory, such as slaughtering pigs and sheep and drinking merrily, to give the enemy the impression that we are celebrating.” General Nangong said.

The crowd looked at him with confusion. Luo Ping asked, ”What is the purpose of this, General Nangong, please explain.”

”The enemy knows we’ve won and will definitely be happy, and celebrating is normal. If they plan to attack, they will surely have spies watching our movements. If we retreat now, they will know that we are aware of their plan.

This means their fifteen Heaven-shattering Thunders won’t be used, remaining a constant threat to us. If they decide to attack, they will probably act at night. We can send dozens of masters in the Celestial Martial Realm to stealthily monitor positions two hundred meters outside the city walls.

Then, after dark, gradually withdraw the soldiers from the walls, leaving only twenty thousand or so to avoid suspicion. We can also create a scene inside the city that seems like we are suffering heavy losses, making them think our casualties are severe.” General Nangong said.

”Excellent! General Nangong is indeed the military’s strategist. Let’s proceed according to your plan. Withdraw the soldiers from the walls after nightfall. I’ll leave it to you to arrange this. I need to absorb Star Power; this time I’ve narrowly survived their plot.” Luo Ping said.

Then everyone left the council hall, leaving Luo Ping alone to absorb the Star Power from the Star Stone.

Meanwhile, Chu Linfeng and Meng Ji stopped at a mountaintop after flying for half a day.

Chu Linfeng didn’t understand why Meng Ji stopped here, as there was no convoy transporting the Heaven-shattering Thunder. He couldn’t help but ask, ”Meng Ji, why did you stop here? Is it because your Star Power is depleted and you need a rest?”

Meng Ji glanced at Chu Linfeng, then removed her veil and asked, ”Do I look good?”

Chu Linfeng wanted nothing more than to kick her butt; he asked her a question and she ignored him and asked him her own.

But indeed, Meng Ji’s appearance is stunning. Every time Chu Linfeng sees her, he thinks of the challenges between them, yet she prefers to remove her veil when they are alone.

”Very beautiful, mesmerizing, intoxicating, making one daydream, but it doesn’t affect me much; I’m immune to you.” Chu Linfeng said with a dismissive look.

”Haha, a man who speaks the opposite of what he feels; soon you’ll fall in love with me, trust me.” Meng Ji laughed, her voice graceful and sweet.

”Really? Let’s see how long it takes. I, Chu Linfeng, am not a frivolous person. If I were, I would have already ’devoured’ you, a peerless beauty, rather than waiting until now.” Chu Linfeng said indifferently.

But inside, he felt helpless. To say he didn’t like her was clearly self-deception, but the chasm between them was vast, too great to know how to cross.

Even though ultimately this chasm would be crossed, it wouldn’t be now, at least not until he reaches the Divine Martial Realm.

”Haha, Lin Feng, if you want to know why I stopped here, just call me Xuan’Er, and I’ll tell you!” Meng Ji said.

Chu Linfeng looked at the scenery below the mountain and noticed a large river in the distance. Beside it was a large road extending into the mountains, with this mountaintop being a necessary pass.

”Chen Zixuan, you don’t need to say it; I already know. This is the junction of the water and land routes; whichever route they take to transport Heaven-shattering Thunder, they will ultimately pass by here, and we are here waiting for them to arrive, isn’t it?” Chu Linfeng smiled and said.

Meng Ji didn’t expect Chu Linfeng to understand her intention immediately, and she admired his cleverness greatly, though she showed indifference and said, ”Lin Feng, is it really that difficult to call me Xuan’Er? Why can you call my full name but not those two words?”

Chu Linfeng felt like crying without tears; communication seemed impossible, and, irritated, he called out, ”Xuan’Er! Xuan’Er! Xuan’Er! Xuan’Er...” repeating it over a dozen times before stopping.

Looking at Meng Ji, he said, ”Are you satisfied now?”

”Not satisfied, it sounds combative; I need the gentle kind!” Meng Ji laughed.

Chu Linfeng was dumbfounded, sitting down helplessly and said, ”Big sister, stop playing around, okay? Let’s talk about serious matters!”

”Alright, I won’t tease you anymore; you are completely correct. This is indeed the convoy’s necessary path; you keep an eye on the movements below, I’m feeling tired and want to sleep for a bit.” Meng Ji said.

”You...” The rest of his words stuck in his throat, as Chu Linfeng felt like he had been played...
