Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 192: Chapter 193: The Mysterious Scroll

Chu Linfeng saw the magical beasts appearing in the distance and immediately said to the three people beside him, ”Look, what magical beasts are those? How are they so strange?”

Sima Jingyi and the Purple Demon Thunder Fox immediately stood up, shocked by the sudden appearance of these creatures, ”Never seen them before, don’t know if they’re formidable or not.”

Chu Linfeng noticed these humanoid beasts were just standing there without coming closer, which he found odd. ”Have you noticed, these creatures don’t seem to have any malice towards us.”

”Not necessarily, but these creatures really look terrifying. How can there be such magical beasts? We should still be cautious,” Sima Jingyi said with a frown.

”Big brother, the strength of these beasts should not be very high. Why don’t we go over and take a look?” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said, relying on her beastly intuition to assess their level of power.

Chu Linfeng nodded and drew the Cyan Frost Sword, slowly approaching step by step. However, for every step he took forward, the creatures took a step back, leaving him speechless.

Frustrated, he suddenly used the Shift Form and Shadow technique, directly appearing in front of the magical beasts, scaring them into scattering in all directions. What they did next nearly made Chu Linfeng fall over.

These humanoid magical beasts actually all got down on the ground and started bowing, their heads continuously knocking against the ground, leaving people puzzled.

”Could they be treating us as gods? Why else would they kneel? What sort of magical beasts are these that exhibit human-like behaviors?” Chu Linfeng said to the Purple Demon Thunder Fox beside him.

”I’m not sure either; there’s nothing about this race in my memory inheritance. Try telling them to stop, see if they understand human speech,” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox suggested.

Chu Linfeng thought it made sense, so he loudly said, ”Everyone, get up, get up!”

As soon as Chu Linfeng finished speaking, those humanoid creatures actually stood up, looking at Chu Linfeng and his companion with expressions filled with respect and worship.

”These creatures seem to understand human speech, though we don’t know if they can speak it,” Chu Linfeng said.

Sima Jingyi came over to Chu Linfeng and said, ”Linfeng, could these monsters be the indigenous inhabitants of this place? Perhaps they’re like humans but haven’t fully evolved yet?”

”Jingyi, your idea is really naive. How could that be possible? Stop overthinking it. I’ll go ask them, they shouldn’t be afraid of me, right? After all, they knelt to me,” Chu Linfeng said with a laugh and walked over.

”This guy just loves showing off. I wonder when he’ll change his ways,” Sima Jingyi said helplessly.

Before Chu Linfeng could get midway, a magical beast, taller than him by a head, walked over and spoke some broken words, ”Great... God, you... you finally came... here.”

”Damn! They can really speak! Who are you, and why are you here?” Chu Linfeng asked in shock.

The magical beast looked at Chu Linfeng with a puzzled expression but still said, ”Great God, you... you... don’t remember... us?”

This made Chu Linfeng’s head spin. He had never seen these creatures before, so why were they claiming to know him? It was simply impossible.

For a moment, Chu Linfeng didn’t know how to respond, but one thing was clear: someone had been here before, and that someone looked very much like him. But who could it be?

”I’ve forgotten. Do you have someone who can speak more fluently? It’s tiring talking to you,” Chu Linfeng admitted. To find out the situation, he needed someone who could communicate clearly.

”Yes... our clan... leader!” the magical beast replied.

”Great, take us to your clan leader!” Chu Linfeng immediately said, pleased to have found someone who could speak fluently, feeling very relieved.

The magical beast then led Chu Linfeng and the others into the forest, soon arriving at the edge of a cliff. Chu Linfeng saw many caves in the cliff face, likely the dwellings of these creatures.

”Great God... you wait... wait, I’ll... go fetch the clan leader.” The guiding magical beast left, leaving Chu Linfeng and the others standing quietly with the gathered beasts.

”Linfeng, my guess must be right. These must be a primitive type; look at them, they act just like beasts but understand human ways of living,” Sima Jingyi said.

”We’ll know the answer soon. Let’s wait and see,” Chu Linfeng replied.

Not long after, an even taller magical beast approached, and upon seeing Chu Linfeng, it immediately knelt down, followed by the surrounding magical beasts.

The kneeling beast said, ”Great God, you have been gone for decades. We have waited for you all these years. Have you completed your task?”

”Get up, please, don’t kneel like this,” Chu Linfeng quickly said. Having these half-human, half-beast beings bowing to him really didn’t feel right.

”Damn, it’s speaking fluently, practically like a human,” Chu Linfeng thought, still unable to understand why they regarded him as a god.

”Do you remember me? Have I been here before? Why don’t I remember it?” Chu Linfeng deliberately asked, hoping to glean some information he needed.

The magical beast was taken aback by Chu Linfeng’s words, feeling something was off but unable to pinpoint it. After a moment’s thought, it said, ”Great God, please follow me. I have something to show you, and you’ll understand.”

Hearing this, Chu Linfeng sensed an opportunity and immediately said, ”Alright, lead the way ahead!”

Following this magical beast, Chu Linfeng entered a cave. The interior was smooth, as if polished, with some glowing crystal stones on the ceiling which seemed quite valuable; unexpected riches were present here, and an opportunity to extort a bit should be sought.

The cave was deep, with several turns before stopping at what seemed to be a bedroom—simplistic but habitable.

The magical beast retrieved something wrapped in animal hide from a hole in the stone wall, resembling a scroll. Carefully, layer by layer, it unwrapped the hide, revealing a scroll.

”Great God, this scroll was left by you years ago. You said you would return years later, and if you forgot, you should look at this scroll, and it might jog your memory,” the magical beast said, handing the scroll to Chu Linfeng.

Chu Linfeng, exchanging a glance with Sima Jingyi and the Purple Demon Thunder Fox, slowly opened the scroll. Upon seeing the image, he was so shocked he nearly wet himself. The scroll depicted, incredibly, incredibly...
