Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 188: Chapter 189: A Close Call

The Golden Demon Vulture swiftly dove down from the sky, its massive claws directly grabbing at the Flaming Scorpion. With a forceful pull, it still elicited no reaction, and instead, the long scorpion tail behind the Flaming Scorpion attacked it.

The Golden Demon Vulture had already experienced the fire poison on this tail, so it quickly flew up and then slammed the Flaming Scorpion to the ground, landing with a loud bird cry.

”Boss, why is this dead scorpion’s defense so strong? I can’t even tear it apart, it’s terrifying!” The Golden Demon Vulture said, unwillingly.

”Haha, you’re just realizing it now? This guy has an iron plate on its back. Ordinary attacks are completely ineffective; we need to find its weak spot to succeed, just like with the Flame Snake King, otherwise there’s no chance of victory,” Chu Linfeng said, looking at the Flaming Scorpion on the ground.

The Flaming Scorpion seemed to be angry at this point. It had been attacked three times by the two beasts and the person in front without launching any attack itself, which made it feel quite humiliated.

So it raised its two gigantic pincers and crawled over quickly, ”Everyone be careful, this guy’s pincers must have the strength of ten thousand pounds, don’t engage directly.”

Chu Linfeng used Shift Form and Shadow to dodge directly, the Purple Demon Thunder Fox also ran aside, and the Golden Demon Vulture flew straight into the sky. Seeing this one man and two beasts escaping quickly, the Flaming Scorpion let out a piercing roar.

Then flames appeared on its two gigantic pincers, followed by a nearly two-meter-long flame shooting towards the Golden Demon Vulture in the sky. The speed was incredibly fast, nearly setting the Golden Demon Vulture’s feathers on fire.

”This guy can actually spit fire, impressive!” Chu Linfeng said.

Seeing it couldn’t attack the Golden Demon Vulture in the sky, the Flaming Scorpion immediately turned its target to Chu Linfeng. The massive pincers were still flaming, but this time they didn’t shoot out, rather they burned directly on top.

The two-meter-long flames quickly swept towards Chu Linfeng, as if the flames were its weapon, sweeping back and forth at high speed, forcing Chu Linfeng to constantly dodge.

A wave of heat came as if the whole person was in a sea of fire. Chu Linfeng felt the flames on the Flaming Scorpion’s pincers were even hotter than the fireballs spat by the Flame Snake King, with parts of his clothing beginning to smoke.

He hurriedly filled his whole body with Chaos Qi, realizing such a monster couldn’t be slain in one go, while clutching the Ice Crystal in his hand, the scorching feeling vanished instantly.

The Purple Demon Thunder Fox occasionally spat out a purple thunder, although unable to truly hurt this creature, it did slow it down significantly, and the intense pain made it scream.

The Golden Demon Vulture, at this point, seemed like a hero with nowhere to use his skills, just circling in the sky. It was the first time it felt this much frustration, unable to find any way to start an attack. If it were in the Magic Beast Forest, they would have been fighting fiercely by now.

Chu Linfeng occasionally used his Heart Sword Attack; although it didn’t cause damage, it brought pain to the creature, leaving both sides in a stalemate, unable to conquer each other.

”Sister Yue’Er, is there any way to slay this creature?” Chu Linfeng, out of options, sought help from Sword Spirit Yue’er.

”This is a magical beast formed by a combination of energies; it doesn’t possess true life, making it tricky to kill. Although you have the Ice Crystal, the opponent’s Fire Attribute Energy is far greater than the energy of your Ice Crystal, so the crystal alone is not enough to defeat it.” Sword Spirit Yue’er said.

”Then what should we do? This creature’s defense is too strong; my attacks can’t hurt it at all.” For the first time, Chu Linfeng spoke discouraging words, dealing with such a magical beast was extremely vexing.

”This type of energy combination magical beast, though with formidable defense, always has a fatal weakness. You can defeat it by attacking its lethal point. However, the Flaming Scorpion’s weakness is very well hidden, making it difficult to target.”

”Where is it?”

”I checked just now; the Flaming Scorpion’s only weak spot is the fire elemental energy on its tail, it should be on its tail. If you can sever its tail, it will fall like the Flame Snake King. However, the fire poison on its tail is extremely potent, so be extra cautious.”

After glancing at the Flaming Scorpion not far away, Chu Linfeng immediately told the Golden Demon Vulture and Purple Demon Thunder Fox: ”Attack that critter’s tail with all your might; its tail is its fatal weakness.”

After receiving Chu Linfeng’s confirmation, the Golden Demon Vulture and the Purple Demon Thunder Fox focused their attacks on the tail. Chu Linfeng also tried his best to circle around to attack, but the Flaming Scorpion was highly agile and its defense was strong, thwarting Chu Linfeng’s attempts several times.

At this moment, the Purple Demon Thunder Fox let out a long howl to the sky for a moment, and its body suddenly expanded several times, with purple streams of electricity flashing continuously, its mouth opened wide and spat out three purple thunder balls in succession, all hitting the Flaming Scorpion.

The three thunder balls resounded with thunderous booms, knocking the Flaming Scorpion to the ground, but it quickly got up again. The three thunder balls didn’t truly injure it, but slowed it down quite a bit.

After spitting out the three thunder balls, the Purple Demon Thunder Fox’s body suddenly shrank back to its original size, although its fur became much duller. At this moment, it said weakly: ”Brother, these three Purple Thunder balls should slow it down for five minutes, now it’s up to you and Golden Fur, my Thunder Power is almost depleted.”

Chu Linfeng nodded, and seeming to be inspired by the Purple Demon Thunder Fox’s efforts, the Golden Demon Vulture burst into a golden glow and used its enormous claws to grasp the Flaming Scorpion’s tail, lifting it off the ground.

With the golden light flashing continuously, the Golden Demon Vulture let out a sorrowful cry, and miraculously, the Flaming Scorpion’s tail was ripped apart, letting out a lot of red substance, similar to the Flame Snake.

However, during the tearing process, the Flaming Scorpion’s massive pincers also clamped down on the Golden Demon Vulture’s wings, snapping them instantly.

The Golden Demon Vulture had to drop the Flaming Scorpion and land on the ground, one of its wings bloodied and hanging limply, clearly injured heavily.

The Flaming Scorpion landed on the ground, its tail writhing in the sand, attempting to block the torn area with sand. Seeing the Golden Demon Vulture’s condition, Chu Linfeng was instantly enraged:

”Dare harm Old Jin, I’ll take your life today!” He lifted his Cyan Frost Sword and struck fiercely at the torn part of the Flaming Scorpion’s tail.

At this moment, Chu Linfeng’s mind was solely focused on severing its tail, with no thought of whether the Flaming Scorpion’s massive pincers might injure him.

As his Cyan Frost Sword came down, the Flaming Scorpion’s huge pincers also attacked, and if Chu Linfeng was caught, he would likely die instantly.

From afar, Sima Jingyi and the Purple Demon Thunder Fox were alarmed and simultaneously shouted, ”Be careful!”

Unfortunately, it was too late; the enormous pincers were already at Chu Linfeng’s face...
