Chapter 187: Chapter 188: Battle Against the Flaming Scorpion

Seeing a sudden yellow cloud appear in the sky, Chu Linfeng knew the sandstorm had truly arrived. If they didn’t avoid it now, it would be dangerous. But the giant Flaming Scorpion was eyeing everyone intently. If they lay on the ground, they would definitely be attacked.

Looking at the two enormous pincers that could easily snap a person in half, it was too dangerous to lie down. While Chu Linfeng was in a dilemma, the Flaming Scorpion on the ground did something unexpected.

It quickly climbed up the sand dune, seeming extremely excited about the sudden sandstorm. Its two enormous pincers waved continuously, and sparks occasionally burst out.

”Huh! Did this guy take the wrong medicine? At this time, it actually dares to stand at the highest point. Isn’t it afraid of the Burning Glaze Fire in the sandstorm?” Chu Linfeng exclaimed in surprise.

”This guy is naturally a Fire Attribute Magical Beast, so it won’t be afraid. Maybe it stands at the highest point to absorb the Burning Glaze Fire in the sandstorm. Let’s all lie on the ground; this sandstorm is deadly,” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said.

Everyone lay on the ground, and the sandstorm officially hit. Countless yellow sands were swept into the air, making it impossible to open their eyes. Chu Linfeng felt that even lying on the ground, he might be swept away and had to use Chaos Qi to firmly fix himself on the yellow sand.

Chu Linfeng felt this way, and so did the other three. A scorching heat wave passed overhead, making them feel as if they were in a sea of fire, caused by the Burning Glaze Fire within the sandstorm.

The sandstorm moved quickly, sweeping over Chu Linfeng and the others in just a few breaths, leaving a sky full of yellow sand falling incessantly, almost instantly burying all four of them.

However, they were all prepared, and the burial wasn’t too deep. They quickly crawled out, shook off the yellow sand, and saw that the previously existing sand dune was now flattened, meaning the yellow sand had been swept away by the tornado formed by the sandstorm, along with the enormous Flaming Scorpion that was standing on top of it.

”I didn’t expect this sandstorm to be so powerful, flattening such a large sand dune and helping us solve a big problem. Should we thank it?” Chu Linfeng said with a smile.

”Fortunately, we were prepared in advance, or we would have been burned to death by the Burning Glaze Fire inside if swept into the air. But it’s strange why the Flaming Scorpion climbed directly to the top of the sand dune. Did I guess wrong?” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said in confusion.

”You’re all mistaken. That guy hasn’t been swept away at all. It’s crawling toward us now. I think we’re in for another tough battle,” the Golden Demon Vulture said.

”Old Jin, I admire your eyesight to the utmost. There’s nothing around here. How did you see it?” Chu Linfeng asked puzzled.

”Because I’m a Flying Magical Beast, my eyes are naturally better than you humans. At its current speed, it won’t take more than ten minutes to reach here. Should we leave or wait for it?”

”What do you think?” Chu Linfeng smiled.

”We should leave. This guy is definitely difficult to deal with. Don’t forget, it’s composed of thousands of small Flaming Scorpions, which is already bizarre, and the Fire Poison it carries is hard to handle,” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said.

Sima Jingyi also nodded, unwilling to let everyone take the risk. Just as Chu Linfeng was about to suggest leaving together, Sword Spirit spoke, ”Lin Feng, you must slay this Flaming Scorpion. It’s a very rare combination Magical Beast, and all these are real energy combinations, which are very beneficial to Xiaoying.”

”Combination Magical Beast? Are you mistaken? Can Magical Beasts also combine, and it’s an energy combination? Sister Yue’Er, are you saying Xiaoying needs this energy?” Chu Linfeng was momentarily taken aback.

Magical Beasts are typically flesh and blood. The Flame Snake was already strange enough, and now this Flaming Scorpion was even more unfathomable. But for Xiaoying, Chu Linfeng had no choice but to tough it out.

”Is it strange? Many things here shouldn’t be judged by normal logic. You could say this is a relatively independent interface. Getting here is an opportunity for you, and you must seize it. Of course, opportunities and dangers coexist, and you must remember that,” Sword Spirit advised.

”Understood. With you here, I’m not afraid!”

Then Chu Linfeng said earnestly to everyone, ”You all leave first. I need to stay behind to slay this creature. Its body is very important to me, and I must get it.”

”Boss, if you’re not leaving, we’re not leaving either. How can we let you face the danger alone? Although that guy’s defense seems strong, my claws aren’t for nothing. The Flame Snake was wrapped in flames, which I couldn’t handle, but I’m not afraid of this scorpion,” Golden Demon Vulture said.

”Big Brother, if Golden Fur is staying, I naturally will too. Although my powers are greatly reduced here, my purple lightning still has considerable strength. I might not be able to help you slay it, but I can help paralyze it,” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said, unwilling to be outdone.

”Lin Feng, you don’t have to worry about me. This Light Shield should last for two more hours. I think you can deal with it in that time, right?” Sima Jingyi said to Chu Linfeng, though her Light Shield could only actually last for about half an hour. She said this to prevent him from worrying.

As they spoke, the Flaming Scorpion had already reached within a hundred meters of the four. The Golden Demon Vulture and Purple Demon Thunder Fox returned to their original forms, while Chu Linfeng charged directly forward with a flicker of his shadow, swinging the Cyan Frost Sword with all his might.

Chu Linfeng used eighty percent of his strength in this strike, aiming to test whether the Flaming Scorpion’s defense was more formidable than the Flame Snake’s.

The Cyan Frost Sword struck its body, producing a dazzling spark. The huge rebound force almost made him lose his grip, as if he was cutting into a steel plate, causing Chu Linfeng to almost be dumbfounded.

”Such powerful defense. My Cyan Frost Sword is a divine weapon that cuts steel like mud, yet it only leaves a shallow mark. How am I supposed to slay it?” Chu Linfeng murmured to himself.

By this time, the Golden Demon Vulture had taken to the sky, and the Purple Demon Thunder Fox was by Chu Linfeng’s side. ”Big Brother, how is its defense?”

Chu Linfeng shook his arm and said, ”It’s even stronger than the Flame Snake King. We’ve met a true opponent this time.”

”Big Brother, let me try!” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said. Then a purple lightning bolt struck the Flaming Scorpion, making it emit smoke and let out a piercing roar.

”It worked! I didn’t expect your lightning to make it cry out in pain,” Chu Linfeng said with a smile.

”I used sixty percent of my Power of Thunder and Lightning to see if I could hurt it. Looks like it can, hehe. Leave the rest to me!” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said with a smile.

”Let me try as well!” the Golden Demon Vulture from the sky said. His enormous talons flashed a golden light, swooping down quickly and directly grabbing at the Flaming Scorpion...
