From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Yongping... takes the meaning from ”To use this path to seek an eternity of prosperity and peace”, the humble wish of the master of the Cross Saber, which ultimately was not realized. Rubbing the Cross Saber that was tightly wrapped in cloth strips, the person appeared even more depressed.

”Even though there is no absolute peace in this world, I still want to fight for it, even if it means breaking my head and bleeding. I want to see that peaceful world surrounded by tranquility and harmony. No killing, no Insect Race, no war... Every Alliance Warrior can take off the heavy combat suit, take off the military uniform burdened with the weight of mountains, and walk the streets as an ordinary person, watching those people protected with their lives, showing the most natural and unburdened smiles...”

Gu Ningzhi looked at the other person with suspicion, wondering why this woman was saying these inexplicable words?

”These are the words written by the master of the Cross Saber Eternal Peace on the school monument, also words she wrote as her own epitaph,” the person glanced at Gu Ningzhi, ”This is the wish of many people, but just having this wish is not enough... On the road to reaching your dream, who knows how many young lives will have to be sacrificed. In such circumstances, just being alive is already a blessing...”

Gu Ningzhi turned his head and continued to watch the ”Mother Tree” with its ferocious branches, just as the strange woman beside him said, the ”Sub-trees” seemed to be afraid of something, and avoided the mountain peak, as if a river meeting a boulder and being split.

”Since this is also the Insect Race... then, that guy should have a way to solve it, right?” Gu Ningzhi rubbed the jade pendant hanging in front of his chest, he had already activated this thing early on. As for how that person far away on the Qiming Star in the Xilena Star System perceives things, and what means they use to appear... he truly did not know. However, an odd sense of trust in his heart told him he could trust it.

That person did not take Gu Ningzhi’s words to heart. Completely solving the Insect Race involved two methods. One is to use absolute thermal weapons to blow them to pieces, preferably not even leaving ashes, because many Insect Race creatures, like earthworms, can survive by relying on residual limbs after being split in two, one body becoming two. To kill an Insect Race, it must be a fatal strike!

The other method, which is the most thorough and reliable, is for a Mind Power User to take action. However... hehe, the people of this world think telekinesis is a symptom of spiritual power deficiency, a demon that causes early death in youth, scared sh**less at the very thought, let alone genuinely developing telekinesis. She feared she would not live to see such a scene in her lifetime.

No! She thought too much, the day this planet’s ”Mother Tree” meets its end would also be the day of her death, life is short, how can she hold on for that long? Thinking of this, she gripped the Cross Saber Eternal Peace even tighter, hesitated for a moment, and handed it to Gu Ningzhi.

Obviously, Gu Ningzhi was startled by her action, not knowing what she was doing now, ”What are you doing?”

”This saber... I’m giving it to you...” the person pondered for a while, finally revealing her purpose, ”Before meeting you, I had planned to let this saber be buried with me, but since you’re here, let you take it away...”

Gu Ningzhi: ”...” He inexplicably felt like he had become the male protagonist from a few years ago under Princess Fusu’s pen, lucky enough to receive the guidance and true teachings of a reclusive master, and even the myth-level weapon for monster-slaying beside him... ahem, was given to the male lead...

”Don’t overthink it, just hope you can continue holding onto it... If you don’t have the ability and courage to wield it, find a master for it. Just, don’t let it be left idle...” the person explained, ”The Cross Saber itself was born for peace, just like its former master, fighting for their belief...”

Gu Ningzhi scratched his messy seaweed-like hair, suddenly wanting to annoyingly ask why he was chosen. However, even if he asked, the other party would probably give him a blow - because he was currently the only option! How heartbreaking!

Gu Ningzhi accepted the saber, and even through the cloth strips, he could feel the unusual coldness around the saber. This coldness was not the temperature of the palm, but a temperature capable of affecting others’ spiritual power! Speaking of which, it sounds mystical, yet it exists solidly.

After thinking about it, Gu Ningzhi still returned the saber to the other person and said, before she got angry, ”I once knew someone who claimed they could solve such creatures... I contacted her before, she will appear, don’t seek death on your own.”
